Stirling Castle
Stirling Castle, located in Stirling, is one of the largest and most historically and architecturally important castles in Scotland. The castle sits atop an intrusive crag, which forms part of the Stirling Sill geological formation. It is surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs, giving it a strong defensive position. Its strategic location, guarding what was, until the 1890s, the farthest downstream crossing of the River Forth, has made it an important fortification in the region from the earliest times. Dunfermline Abbey is a Church of Scotland parish church in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. The church occupies the site of the ancient chancel and transepts of a large medieval Benedictine abbey, which was sacked in 1560 during the Scottish Reformation and permitted to fall into disrepair. Part of the old abbey church continued in use at that time and some parts of the abbey infrastructure still r...
Kirkcaldy Cinema

The Kirkcaldy ABC Cinema closed in 2000 and since then the building has sat empty and decaying. The building is now in such a poor state that demolition is unavoidable but, as the video shows, this will be a complex operation due to the proximity of adjacent flats and businesses.
Freeport Shopping Centre

Five Sisters Freeport Shopping Village opened in 1996, with more than 40 stores, claiming to be Scotland's new premier outlet for designer clothes. Only eight years later the centre closed, largely due to competition from nearby Livingston Designer outlet. The site remains more or less untouched today, fenced off and with some security presence.

Alcan Burntisland White Side after Closure
The view and video are superb.
Moved out of Kirkcaldy a while ago. It is nothing but kids having kids creating crime and mayhem. The whole esplanade redevelopment was a disaster for traffic and has completely congested the area. It is also compounded by the fact they keep expanding Kirkcaldy with expensive new builds that locals can't afford and outsiders are not interested in because the're too far away from more prosperous regions to commute. You just need to look at the Scottish Deparivity Index to see how badly Kirkcaldy has fallen.
Thanks Ian a lovely video.
Thanks for commenting, Brian, I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
That's a Bonny view Ian well done great capture of the Castle loved it all
Thanks, much appreciated! 🙂
what a sad state of the toon now even the cinemas gone
Fantastic footage, what drone do you use? I've flown here a few times, just watch out for a particularly aggressive pair of Oystercatchers!
What is the depth of these canals? is there a lot of tourism on these canals?
Kirkcaldy prom, always was and still is shockingly under utilised. I didn't know the Victoria Hotel used to be named differently.
Muchas gracias por compartir, es un excelente video, muchas felicidades. ✨️👌🏽
Millions and millions of pounds spent on that fkn joke of a prom which floods whenever we have a wee shower yet a majestic building gets left to fall to pieces. Priorities wrong somewhere ! Braw video by the way, I shall subscribe
I agree agree with you entirely and I've yet to hear from anyone who considers the prom to be an improvement. Cheers for the sub 👍
brilliant flight Ian thanks for sharing
Great vid. Me and ma gf spent hours trying to figure out where tf we were!! Lol. Few questions. Kinda drone u using that gets you all that and still keep VLOS? (I'm using air 2s) do you edit after and what do you use coz it looks great. Was that filmed in 4k or 5 and edited down?
Cheers. Did you figure out that it was between Windygates and Leven, in Fife?! I shot this with a Mini3 Pro, flying from a car park near the small roundabout at the start of the video. Max distance out was only around 500m and I had clear sight lines in both directions. Although I did have VLOS the Mini3 Pro is a bit tricky to spot in the sky when the distance increases due to its small size. I edit the footage in Premier Pro in 4K.
Ah, i saw this from a distance last weekend when out sailing and thought it may be in the water, but from my viewpoint, could have been on the land nice flight buddy 👏🎥👍
Thanks, Jim. Although accessible from the shore, the turbine does actually sit in the water, though obviously it is very shallow there.
Great flight with a nice capture of these beautiful hills. Amazing. Liked & subscribed. Keep it up! 👍
Beautiful video. Thanks for sharing. 👍6
Lovely flight Ian 👏👍
perfect m8
Very very beautifull cinematography righ there. Cliffs look amazing. And lighthouses. What drone are you flying?
❤👌👌👍👍great video 💚💚
Absolutely top class Ian you will get me all day long with coastal shots like that mate that's what I love to see ❤️👏👏👏😎🎥👍
I've not lived in Burntisland for many years noo . However I remember there was a shop called McCracken's at the end of the High Street in Burntisland. It was next to McCarrys ice cream shop .
That was my Dad's shop. It was mainly a newsagents but also a model railway dealership (Dad was very keen on railways).
Really amazing Ian. Who needs to go to Iceland anayway? I was caught out an only had my mobile but the images were really good. What speed is your timelapse?
Thanks, Dave, it was an incredible sight. I've heard a few people say that if they never see the aurora again they'd be satisfied with what they saw on Friday. The timelapse was created from 200 frames taken over 28 minutes, from 0130hrs to 0158hrs.
Bloody awesome, Ian ❤
Thanks for the comment, Jim, much appreciated! I still can't quite believe that I captured this in my back garden.
Ian, some nice camera moves and editing; it's really interesting to see your work developing. Keep at it. Good choice of music too. As for the building, the demo cost is eye-watering, but hopefully its clearance will allow the site to be developed and bring some life and economic activity to that end of the town centre.
Thanks for the comment David, glad you're enjoying the journey! It seems such a waste to demolish, what is presumably, a perfectly good building but I suppose there will be economic justification for it.
I subscribed😊
Thanks!
Same. Hopefully moving up to fife later this year.
Wow!! Beautiful views. Great video. Thanks for sharing. Sub & 👍6
Thank you, much appreciated 👍
Fabulous footage Ian
Thanks you, glad you enjoyed this 😊
Great footage. You have captured it perfectly 👌 ❤
Thanks for the comment, much appreciated 😊
Such a shame that it’s been allowed to deteriorate like this. Great memories of the ABC minors and watching the Battle of the Bulge three times in one week. Thanks for the video Ian.
It really is a shame how the place has been left to deteriorate. Glad you found it interesting though.
Went to the ABC Minors as well. I can't remember the first film I saw there, but Jaws and Star Wars were memorable. Remember going to see Star Wars one afternoon, afer sitting an O Grade in the morning. I almost had the whole cinema to myself, front row was akin to IMAX, no postage stamp screen.
I remember they used that place for a zombie inspired futuristic type game show, it was shown on one of the main channels can’t remember which 😊
You're right, there was a 2015 reality TV game show made for BBC Three called 'I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse' filmed there.
Great flight Ian. The Sisters are actually quite picturesque given their industrial heritage. Amazing the way nature takes over.
This is the first time I've visited the site so I was interesting to see it from above to get a more complete picture.
Nice smooth flight Ian 👏👏🎥👍
Thanks, Jim, I try and resist the temptation to keep swivelling about when filming!
*promo sm* 😠
There's never a boring moment when watching your channel. Love how engaging everything is.
Thank you for your comment, it is much appreciated 😊
That took me back! Now Wm Low and the postings are all gone.
Yes, there have been many changes since the video was shot, not all of them for the better, unfortunately.
I remember that Intersport store at the bottom of Tolbooth Street at 3:45. Got a few good deals there. We used to love going to the bookshop just a few doors up, have a cuppa tea and a slice of millionaire's shortbread. Alas, the Internet has ripped the heart out of that area.
I'm afraid you're correct, Kirkcaldy's High Street, like many towns, is a shadow of its former self.
That's a great video. I will always cheer for you in Korea I'm looking forward to a great video. Have a nice day.
Brilliant footage Ian as ever. Great control and line up at 2:49 especially. The "Old" road bridge looks a bit lonely now.
Thanks, Dave. The Forth Bridge doesn't get much use now but is available as a diversion route for all traffic should the need arise. It's much more pleasant experience to walk or cycle across it since the QC was opened.
The good old days before mass immigration and the gender confused woke lefties spoiled everything. Even the TV back then was ten times better than that garbage they show now !
Brilliant m8
Cheers!
💕 Wow💙💙💙💙💚💙💙

best thing about this was the music ffs!!
I always enjoy posting great views. Thank you.
Thank you for inspiring me once again❤
lan friend's video is fantastic. He has a deep heart and is good at composition. If videos like this continue to come out, he will steal the hearts of many people. I enjoyed watching it. Thank you.
Nice flight Ian 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Brialliant video Ian. Lovely subject to cover. Water must have been "baltic" though. 🥶
Great capture Ian. Light conditions and reflections were superb. Bit nervous about the birds though 😮.
Thanks for posting another top video.
