Hey Evon! Thanks for visiting my channel. This excursion was in Puerto Plata; there are a number of resorts in that area. But Punta Cana is also one of the other areas people like to visit for vacation. The videos on this channel at the Live Aqua resort were shot in the Punta Cana area.

The couple of things I might mention that might be negatives about the resort would be 1. the distance from Punta Cana airport: it was a good half hour ride. I believe there are a number of choices closer to the airport from the Internet search I just did. 2. Also a quick search shows quite a number of resorts in the $150-$200 range; for Live Aqua you might pay nearly twice that depending on what accommodations/room-type you select at Live Aqua. As to excursions, on a previous trip to the Dominican Republic, I really enjoyed a day trip to the capital (Santo Domingo ) as I love history (for example: The residence of the son of Christopher Columbus is there). One caution I will give you is to research who/what you will use for transportation. Even Uber can possibly be a problem. Having traveled there enough and researched enough, I was already prepared for the situations that can occur with Uber and had multiple backup plans.

With your help here's what I found online/Wikipedia: Polenta is a dish of boiled cornmeal that was historically made from other grains. The dish comes from Italy. It may be allowed to cool and solidify into a loaf that can be baked, fried, or grilled. The variety of cereal used is usually yellow maize, but often buckwheat, white maize, or mixtures thereof may be used.

Not counting the fruit trees (that I prune to keep small), I only did gardening this year inside the homemade greenhouse because getting the greenhouse going was a major undertaking as I had to cut down large 50 foot trees and use an excavator and Bobcat/skid-steer to dig out the roots as I wanted to sink the greenhouse in the ground several feet to help protect against winter cold; as you saw in the video, I'm growing some things that are more native to tropical-like warmer climates. All that said, now that I've got the greenhouse started, I've got to circle back to prepping some spaces outside the greenhouse for the 2024 grow season; I too want to expand my gardening especially with the crazy inflation. The challenge is, I'm working full time still in IT in the corporate world, doing mission work, expanding my social media footprint and etc., so time is a big challenge, but I wouldn't go back to city life right now for anything LOL. You're ahead of me on the deer hunting, each fall I keep intending to get there, but haven't worked that into the mix, yet; there are some things I've got to get done first to make that a reality. And, I'm not sure I'll get those things done before Fall. This fall and winter is already lining up to be a full one. I'll try to keep everyone updated on new stuff coming soon...

I've seen the electric fillet knife demonstrated, but I've never used one. Two questions for you: 1) what brand/model do you recommend? 2) what sort of maintenance do they require (for example: do you need to sharpen them the same way you do a manual fillet knife?)

This a cautionary video relevant for both male and female. The reasons may vary between male and female, but you do have males trying to encourage females to drink alcohol, and you also have cases where females are encouraging males to drink alcohol.

It gets even worse: I've been reading & watching stories for at least a year or more regarding certain people in government and education wanting to replace the word "mother" with something else.

I believe that race is a relevant factor; there is such a high disproportionate number of abortions in the minority community as compared to the relative size of that community. Statistics have been reported as high as half of the 60-70 million aborted babies being minorities. In particular, in the Black community, there is an epidemic of fathers not engaged with their children. Listen to former President Obama's 2008 Father's Day speech to hear the result of what that has done and continues to do to the Black community. Stats run between 70-80 percent in the Black community of children being raised without their fathers properly engaged in their lives. Actively engaging men in in the conversation is one of many things that must be done to bring back their involvement. While I was still a minor, my parents had very serious conversations with me regarding my required involvement with any future children of mine. So, my sense of responsibility was embedded deep in my being. But here's the question it comes down to with abortion: "Is an unborn baby a human?" Even setting aside discussion of my faith, I can recall walking the halls of the biology department of the University of California at Berkeley, as a young student years ago, and examining scientific exhibits of a babies prenatal development and cannot in good faith say a baby is simply an internal appendage of the mother's body and not a distinct living human.

Regarding your points on race, I do not dispute your numbers, and agree that when you look at it in sociological terms, race is very much an issue. Race is a huge factor in countless institutions and aspects of our society. For example, race even influences medical care in hospitals because the complaints of minority patients are often not taken as seriously. I read a little about it when my wife was studying nursing. In any case, I tried to seperate race from philosophy because the moral principles apply to all people. For the sake of the discussion, I wanted to focus on the moral philosophy of abortion. I am not well-qualified to discuss the religious aspects of the topic. I will leave that to others. Similarly, for the sake of debate, I'm not particularly interested in whether abortion "seems" right or wrong. It may sound weird, but I am not here to argue for any specific policy based on this or that trimester. I am just trying to emphasize that this is a philosophical issue in which very good people have very different views. There are relatively few people on the extremes. I think most people hold positions that are more along the lines of Row v Wade, than either extreme end of the continuum. I always had troubles getting my mother to understand that people who are pro-choice are not choosing to be immoral. Instead, their moral philosophy simply places more weight on the right of the women, over the rights of a potential child. I see it as a balancing of rights. To what extent does human autonomy of the woman trump the autonomy of a potential person? There are good people on both sides of the debate. I understand that it can be hard to see it that way if you look at abortion as mass murder. For that reason, I never urged my mother to vote for a pro-choice candidate. That would be asking her to do something that she considered to be morally abhorrent. I try to be understanding of that, even though I weigh the competing rights somewhat diferently. In any case, I think we can even have this conversation without talking about politics. The ancient thinkers did not let politics determine their views on normative moral philosophy. On November 8. I suppose that is naive.

Okay, let's step back and ponder: In what way is the unborn not human? I think you refer to the unborn as a "potential" child. In your usage of the word "potential", what distinguishes a potential child from an actual child?

@@DATINGSURVIVALGUIDE I understand that people seldom use the expression "potential child" when talking about abortion. Part of the reason I use that is because it can apply to all stages of developement, from the time that 2 cells divide into 4, to just before birth. Beyond this, it is important to distinguish different stages such as embryo, fetus, and age of viabilty so that we are talking about the same thing. I do not think it is useful to call a 4 cell organism a baby. To refer to the entire continuum, I think the term "potential child" is as good as any. For more detailed discussion, it is important to use terms like fetus, embryo, and the point of viability. I would not want to try to answer a question like when does the "potential person" or "unborn individual" count as a person because I don't think there can be an agreed-on answer. I feel like it is more helpful to be as detailed as possible. I hope you don't see that as an evasion. I refer to any stage of an individual's development as a potential human child, if the individual has not been born. And yes, I am happy to describe it as a human "individual" at any point of development. "Personhood" is more complicated.

@@DATINGSURVIVALGUIDE I think the important philosophical question is "at what point, or under what conditions, does the unborn individual's right to be born outweigh a woman's right to be autonomous?" That is both a philosophical and a political question for which I have no simple answer. For this conversation, I don't want to advance a specific position.

Interesting comment: I know what a woman is without scrambling and needing to phone a biologist to come and help me figure out what a woman is; but you believe I'm the ignorant one? Interesting...

You say I'm not wanted in your government? What government is that? What country are you a citizen of? If you are a citizen of the USA, then I'd offer the following response: Do you not understand the history of the founding of the United States of America, or are you intentionally ignoring a massive body of history that reflects how openly religious the Founder Fathers were in thought, in public discourse, and regarding certain theological phrases conspicuously included in the founding documents which are the basis of the US government. For example, you can easily look up the Declaration of Independence and see text like the following in that founding document: ""..Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator..." Do you understand John Hancock's relation to the US Declaration of Independence? He was president of the Continental Congress when the Declaration of Independence was adopted and signed. Oh yeah, and what about the 22 times the Governor John Hancock utilized public proclamations to formally and officially call the state of Massachusetts to prayer and/or fasting. And do not get me started on major players in the US Civil Rights movement and the role Christians churches and Christian individuals played in the 1950's; that movement shook governments (local, state, and federal) and was a major catalyst in CHANGING laws in the United States. I advise you to re-check your history; you may not want people like me involved in the US government, but it's not your call and it never has been from the Founder Fathers who did not hide their faith, to the 1950's Civil Rights movement, to the present day.

Researchers and authors such as Jason Riley of the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board have analyzed decades of census data and have concluded that the Black marriage rate was as strong and at times surpassing that of white America for nearly a century following slavery in America. With the rise of radical cultural, ultra-Liberal values, and the devaluing of real men and fatherhood, we have the last half century of assault on Black marriage and the Black family and devastation to large segments of the Black community. And this cultural revolution that now has the majority of Black children raised in fatherless homes, or aborted before they even come forth from the womb, is more a result of the Liberal Left than Christian conservatives of any race. If you're not old enough to have lived through this change in America, go back and study the history of what has happened. The evidence is there for anyone seriously wanting to know the truth.
