It's a little early to share this (I was planning on doing this sometime in March on account of the season Swan Lake takes place in: spring), but I uploaded this in homage of the color of the swans, as well as the main color of January (from my knowledge): white. Please enjoy! NOTES: 1. This rip wasn't done by me; like The Nutcracker, credit goes to SG DVD Rip, whose rip can be found on the Int...

Railway Roundabout - Bonus Disc (circa 2000)

I have no idea when this was released, but what I do know is that no one has uploaded this, or it has, but it was taken down. Either way, enjoy two hours of Railway Roundabout, with a side of commentary by the late Patrick Whitehouse. Back Cover Description: "Originally filmed between 1958 and 1962, Railway Roundabout affords an in-depth view of one of the most interesting periods in railway hi...

Promotional material for Prima Princessa (titular character voiced by Nicki Rapp), a series of educational ballet programs released between 2007-2009, created by Mary Kate Mellow and Stephanie Troeller. This already exists on RUclips, but an HQ version of the promo does not, which is what this is: an HQ version of the promo. Sourced from N-Circle's 'Super Mario Bros.: Koopa Kronicles DVD. All r...

Ivo Peters' Somerset & Dorset Railway - Volume Two: Masbury Summit to Broadstone (1986)

By popular (and by popular, I mean one person; thanks for the request) demand, here's volume two of Ivo Peters' adventures of the S&D. This was found on the Internet Archive (uploaded by STEAM TRAINS), and it isn't in the best quality (unlike a ballet program I uploaded on the 17th in an attempt to branch out on program uploading), and could be incomplete. Despite this, I hope you all enjoy! RE...

I uploaded this program to celebrate 102 years since the performance of Tchaikovsky's 'The Nutcracker', as well as the fact that this hasn't been uploaded anywhere else outside of the Internet Archive. Thank you so much for uploading this
I really do not like this mimicking of the original Peter Woods commentary. Is this to avoid copyright? The content is fine although not original. This is plagiarism and in bad taste. The inherent superiority of the upper middle class accent is appalling and irritating.
That isn't an impression; Peter Woods wasn't available for narration at the time of this video's release, so producer Jeremy English took his spot (same with Revisited, but with Decades of Steam narrator Ken Morgan).
@@bittleproductions I'd wondered this for the longest time back when this volume first surfaced. Wouldn't call it an impression, though the direction(?) of narration being similar is to be expected
0.37.00 (roughly) Pat gets the name of the summit of the Mendips climb wrong here. It was not Midsomer Norton but Masbury, right at the summit of the Mendips, before the descent to Shepton Mallet, going south.
I am also an S&D devotee and he also seemed to be saying that it was up to Shepton Mallet whereas of course it was down to Evercreech from Bath. But his commentary seems to have been done in the same year he died, so we will give him some latitude.
Amazing video thank you so much 😊
Smashing footage on these ol vids. Thanks for posting up. The ol T9, the loveliest engine I’ve ever driven n fired. Effortless & the ride was as smooth as silk. That coming from someone who always put the unconverted west country’s in first place. The ol T9 had the edge! 😃
Re.Brighton Belle - actually there were several Pullman trains out of London at the time.
Compulsory watching, especially the A.C.E. clips. Only just learnt why some Pullman cars (the Brighton Belle examples) had names whilst others just numbers!
I enjoyed these programs. (look no tanned faces)
This is all new to me and very welcome. I saw all the original Roundabout programmes when they came out and fondly thought that was it. Coincidentally, I knew Pat Whitehouse after a fashion. I used to appear before him when he was a magistrate in Birmingham in the 1980s. It was inadviseable to cross him and he was something of a disciplinarian. However, since he was effectively one of my boyhood heroes, I had no trouble in performing all he bowing and scraping which was expected.
One presumes as an advocate, not as a defendant?😄
@@SWRural-fk2ub One presumes correctly but I don't remember that Mr. Whitehouse drew any distinction between the two!
Fantastic, particularly so with Pat Whitehouse's commentary. Enjoyed this so much.
Thanks for having foresight Ivo
Thank you massively for uploading both this and the previous volume. I recall watching these for the first time along with a few others in a massive 7 or 8 hour compilation of Ivo's cinematography, which I already as some of the best steam-era railway footage I'd ever seen, thanks in no small part to two of the 3 documentaries about the S&D, which speaking as a New Zealander, has been a railway line which has always fascinated me, and I have read as much as I could about it from books or any kind of physical documentation I could get my hands on. Plus being of course able to travel and appreciate the northern section of the route (between Bath and Templecombe) as it had existed in it's heyday thanks to Train Simulator. (as minor sidenote, I am hugely excited for newest and hopefully most accurate revision of the route due to come out at some point this year.) Following your upload of the first volume, I would've advocated for you to upload the second, but it is my understanding that uploading content like this is still technically illegal, therefore I didn't to encourage actions that could lead to your channel's termination.
This is really taking me back
There is much to see and admire in this varied collection of quality railway scenes.
I do have the VHS version of these
Can you do Prima Princessa Sleeping Beauty please?
I will when an upload exists; there isn't one at the moment, but I will when there is one.
@@bittleproductions 👍
I have these on VHS but I need this on DVD as Ivo filmed on good qualify film stock, shame you only did it on 240p, also not sure this will remain up as the Railscene fella is on RUclips... I am not saying anything but don't be surprised if he makes a claim?
Sorry about the 240p quality; it was the only thing available. Also, who is the "Railscene fella"?
Thanks for uploading the second part. I don't think I've ever been a one-person populace before.
Any chance you're gonna upload the Europe volumes? (Depending if you can get your hands on them)
I can upload them if I can get my hands on the DVD (or if someone on the Internet Archive uploads it there like the second volume of Ivo Peters' S&D journey).
The sad thing was they didn't preserve the permanat way even if they lifted the track and removed bridges, some beautiful viaducts along the route. I was at boaring school in Shafteabury in the later half of 1970s and took the bus from Bournmouth which went past alot of the villages that had stations along the route. Thank you for posting this, a really enjoyable watch
The viaducts around Shepton remain, the one over the Baby Sham factory stands, I think the Prestleigh one went in the 90s? Permanent way is track by the way!
@@Thunderer0872yes should have said track bed
I recall seemingly waiting ages for this second volume to be released. At the time they were considered to be great but looking back the quality left a bit to desired.
Been waiting years to see this again. Thanks fo,r loading
The chassis of 92245 is the last of the “Barry Ten”, still at Barry. It belongs to the local council, and is going to be cut up.
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you😊
That was lovely. Are you going to put up the second volume?
I've found it on the Internet Archive (part of both intro and outro are cut; additionally not in the best quality ever, but it's the only thing I could find), and I'll be uploading it soon!
Lovely footage 👍
A brilliant high-quality presentation that includes a wide variety of different railway scenes. Thank you for sharing
Seeing the steam enthusiasts all over the tracks tells us the year was well before the Nanny State of H&S arrived!
This is fantastic thank you for uploading
Am 72 , grew up in Sth. Wales with valley coal / passenger trains part of my boyhood. We had 2 pits within spitting distance of our house . My grandad and me used to borrow coal from the NCB at night. Perhaps 1958/1962 . Naughty but nice . Mainline systems were totally remote from my end of the World branch , were men where men and sheep were afraid ! . My Grandfathers forebears were from Radstock so your programe is spot on. Thanks and regards steamnuts . Dave .
Beechings remit from Marples was only financial. There was no consideration for social effects or cost value analysis. If we still had the great Central then that could have taken freight, with a few new junctions it would have avoided the horrendous costs and environmental impact of HS2. The S and D would have become a tourist attraction.
I missed out on Railway Roundabout by a year, sadly we had no catch up tv in those days. But really good to see them now.
I have this video but nothing to play it on so this is great. I grew up in Radstock and remember the line well.
Lovely to see Bewdley again. Used to kayak from Highley to Bewdley in my youth
What a wonderful historic record!
Great video, we have Ivo to thank for the memories
Oh happy days, not a hi vis vest or mobile phone to be seen !
46.35 Mk 2s in maroon excellent
Lovely video. I bought this on VHS when it came out.
The Blue Bull and at 9:00 sounds just like an HST. I wonder if that's a genuine period soundtrack or enhanced later?
Peter Smith drove 9f 92220 on the last Pines Express. They were best friends for many years until Donald's passing. The most respected engine and driver combination on the S&D in its final years.
Erm ... there was a lot more to the S&D than those two, who I used to see and talk with when they were trapped at the buffers at Bath GP. More than 70 men working from Bath GP, including the real gritty stuff with small hours goods trains and ongoing shunting; another 40+ based at Templecombe, who had whole S&D route knowlege ie to Bath, Bournemouth, and Highbridge. The five Branksome crews incl. D&P had the 'glamour' job ie the Pines to/from Bath.
It's good that there's a road near Green Park that's named after Ivo Peters! I remember the '60s (born '61), but don't recall seeing people standing on the railway lines. Do remember seeing a steam train pull into Newbury Station around '67, and my Mum's comment that they were being phased out and that it was a shame. Great video - thanks.
And another called Pines Way!
