I wrote this after studying Johann Fux's "Gradus Ad Parnassum", a book laying out Renaissance-era species counterpoint. This is an attempt to imitate the style of Palestrina and other renaissance motet composers.

A piece I wrote in order to capture the essence of baroque music, and testing a method of composition that I conceptualized in my mind, but had not, until now, applied.

I'm going to be doing all three movements for my senior recital, but the first is my favorite. I've wanted to to learn it for a long time, and here it is!

Found this audio today, from several years ago. Thought I should put it with some nature pictures, since I didn't have any video from recording it. Hope you enjoy!

I am going try to record one of these each weekend in a series. I've already done five and nine, so I'm 25% of the way there! I'll be trying to post much more often.

Thank you!
Great job! It's taken me months to get this up to pace. I'm touching 50bpm and I need to work on my press/bizz rolls, but I've most of it down. Quite a challenge.
Great job. It looked like you were reading sheet music ?
I was using sheet music. I don’t remember where I got it- I think it was a transcription I did, but I’d have to check.
Very nice👍🏻🤗
Amazing cover
How do one handed roll
To learn one handed rolls, I would just play slow sixteenth notes, alternating the inner and outer mallets: In, out, in, out, and so on. Then just speed it up very gradually.
Awesome Cover! And nice drumming 👌🏼
FANTASTIC!
Nice
