"Restore to me the joy of your salvation!" Sin breaks our fellowship with God. The unbeliever must repent and trust Christ to be saved and brought to fellowship with God by being made alive in Christ by the Spirit. The believer continues to repent, confessing sin and trusting in the completed work of Christ, His passive and active obedience to the Father, that has brought us forgiveness. For the unbeliever, repentance and faith produces the joy of salvation. For the believer, repentance and obedience restores the joy of salvation. Praise God for His goodness and abounding steadfast love!

I’m So confides by this passage and I’m certain it applies to me because I was born again at 19 but fell away into unbelief but now many decades later I want to return to the Lord and the Holy Spirit but fear according to this passage and Hebrews 10 that I cannot return regardless of how repentant I am and how much godly sorrow I have

Wow! That part of the sermon at about the 24:00 mark seems to be the major point and application for this sermon. God dispels the natural fear of man in Ezekiel by displaying His glory (much like Moses and Isaiah). If only we would know God to this degree, be saturated by His Word, and declare His gospel, come what may!

💔 𝔭𝔯𝔬𝔪𝔬𝔰𝔪

GOD NEVER PUNISHES ANYONE! Actually, Jesus made it VERY CLEAR in his "stump speech," usually called the Sermon on the Mount, that God NEVER punishes anyone (in Matthew 5:38-48)! Jesus, at least one time, got on a "mount," to compare and contrast his view God with that of Moses, even to the point of giving this speech from an elevated position, an unmistakable symbol for Mount Sinai, to the Jews in his audience. From there, he taught his followers that Moses' view that one limit revenge to only one eye for an eye (a relative improvement from 2, 20 or 100 eyes for one eye) should only return good for evil, "if slapped, turn the other cheek," and to love YOUR enemies (Note, he did not say "our" enemies!). Then, he said why, "So you can be just like God the Father (verse 45)! The last thing God would ever do, according to Jesus, is turn right around and be the CAUSE of human suffering, just because people have not yet realized how much God loves them unconditionally and has already forgiven them of all their sins! Yes, God hates the BAD THINGS WE DO to one another, which is what Jesus defined as "sin," but he made it clear that God loves the sinner! The very essence of the Good News is that, no matter how bad a person has been, s/he is never beyond the reach of God's love and forgiveness, so it's NEVER too late to REALIZE one is a child of God and, from that point on, begin to act accordingly! The false gospel, however, twists the Good News message of Jesus inside out! Instead of presenting God as the One who loves the entire world, so much so, He gave His begotten son, they would have you believe God loves only a small portion of the world (which is why they make it seem as if God punishes "them," not "us")! Instead of Jesus dying for all our sins, they would have you believe he died only for some of our sins! Instead of upholding the biblical view that salvation is FROM SIN, they would have you believe "salvation" is FROM GOD! Those who think they are following Jesus when, in fact, they are perpetuating hate, suffering, and revenge, are are doing the very things Jesus, steadfastly, stood against (Matthew, Chapter 25)! In the end, Jesus let us know that it does no good to "teach us" to do good by motivating us with a threat of getting hurt! What "lesson" is that, but to think the only reason to stop doing bad is just to evade someone doing bad to us! If so, then one has not really learned anything! No wonder so many Neo Evangelicals say, "If there is no Hell, then why not kill, murder and rape all we want?" Because, in their hearts, they STILL WANT to do those bad things!
