The is beaulieu park. The next station is morganstown
Bro summoned scr
beaulieu park -- beaulieu in hampshire
No, it's just to the North of Chelmsford in Essex
I believe that the new Beaulieu Park railway station could open from Summer next year.
Can I ask what they are building on the other side of the bridge? Is it the David Lloyd gym?
At present it looks like the contractors are using the site for their storage, the only information I can find is that area is going to be a new car park. www.essexhighways.org/uploads/Beaulieu%20Park%20Station%20-%20highway%20works/aerial%20with%20labels.jpg
When is the due completion date?
It's expected to be December 2025. I hope to get there about every 3 months during next year as I expect the exterior works will start moving along now.
Fantastic.
Thanks, if you haven't already seen them there are 2 videos from earlier this year. I plan on doing another one sometime around Dec/Jan as work progresses.
got to love the slight mist
Yep, when a ground higher altitude and low cloud come together they make for great shots.
Lots of cars to choose from
I remember when it used to be a good old fashioned scrap yard - that was a few years ago lol
does look a bit damp lol but great scenery
It was most certainly a horrible drizzly day :(
Stop at 4:30, the village of Winterbourne Stoke. After travelling down the M3 and a long dual carriageway section of the A303, traffic from London to the SW comes thundering through the middle of this small village. A few people who don't live anywhere near Wiltshire manipulated the courts to delay this village's long awaited by-pass until the new Government ran out of money to build it.
Thanks for the info, I didn't know anything about the plans of village being bypassed, I guess that explains the speed camera just past the bottom of the dip facing the SW.
@@rods-stuff Winterbourne Stoke would have been by-passed as part of the canceled Stonehenge tunnel scheme.
Great video, did you get any others? (Was part of organising it)
Unfortunately not much more, I wanted to get more but was unable to work out the exact route it took due to the published directions not being very clear by using the names of farms and names of junctions that locals may know but are not marked as such on maps. Maybe next year.
Nice video 😀
Thanks, glad you like it.
The Ilminster bypass is a disgrace of a road. For maybe two metres of widening the whole road could have been dual carriageway and saved dozens of lives.
You're not wrong, who knows what was going through the planners minds when they came up with it. It's just stupid to alternate the two lane sections the way they have.
@@rods-stuff The alternating lanes were only introduced in around 2002 as a short term safety improvement. Before that, there was just a single broken white line down the centre of the road and you'd get vehicles from both sides barrelling down the centre line, occasionally with fatal consequences.
Upgrading this section of the A303 was high on the Highway Authority's list of road projects for their next planning period and money has already been spent on the initial plans. Sadly this is now most unlikely to happen after the new Government has scrapped most new road projects. So much money is wasted in the UK planning transport projects that never get built.
Thx for this. I am baffled as to why Beaulieu Park station only has three platforms. The new Cambridge south station being built simultaneously, has fewer projected passengers, yet has four platforms and won't get anywhere near as much freight pass through it as Beaulieu Park. Maybe there is passive provision for more capacity in the design?
I'm not a railway engineer or planner, so I don't know their thinking behind it, although I'm sure they have reasons for the decision.
Another good video 😀 I like the music, do you know the name of it?
The music title is Adventure Time, I found it on a copyright free site but I can't remember which one or who the artist is. I've extended it as the original is 4 mins in length.
Got to love lavender
Yep, there appears to be quite a lot in the area this year
Nice video 😀 very scenic road
Thanks, I travel between Essex & Devon regularly and I must admit it's my preferred route.
Not usually into sculptures, but this is gorgeous. Had no previous knowledge of it so good to see. Any idea of the scale of it? Or total height perhaps?
I don't know the exact size of the sculpture, but I would guess as being very close to life size.
@@rods-stuff Just Googled it and found it listed as a 15ft sculpture.
Decent bit of kit these 52-55 key Dean organs.
You don't see many of them these days, I took the video on my phone a few years ago, wish I'd recorded more
@@rods-stuff There don't seem to be as many fairground organs getting out and about so much in general now, but you will typically find them at steam rallies as part of their attractions.
Oh fantastic, I've not seen the Pied Piper out for years!
@MattLyons-x9h This short piece of footage is probably around 7 or 8 years old
Nice flight
Thanks, I really wanted to get more footage but the rain beat me - maybe next time...
That just makes it a place that you'll be looking forward to back to, it's a pity mother nature doesn't always play the game
I used to Live just outside Exeter & I can't imagine just how many times I've driven past the access road without knowing it was there. I'll keep hoping for better weather for my next trip.
Lovely church.... happy flying
It's tucked away on the edge of a village, the trees on two sides prevented getting good views from those sides.
Happy travels keep up the good work
It was half of my trip home from visiting family in Exeter, I'm just editing the second half of the journey.
@rods-stuff I enjoy watching these trips especially when I can't get out during chemotherapy. It makes me feel like I am out and about
Well done fantastic flight and video
Thank you, I've got some footage of an old Devon tin mine that I'm currently editing together coming up soon.
Back in 1979 I started to commute from Witham to Chelmsford by train.I was told then there was going to be a new station at Springfield.
The information on Network Rail's website does say that it has been in the pipeline for around 40 years with it finally being due to open at the end of next year. Between now and then I will hopefully be able to keep the updates coming, especially towards the latter end of the project when things always appear to change more rapidly.
Muzak not good.
Thanks for your feedback.
Always good when you have a lucky find
It's fairly local to me, but it's not very often they are playing with their toys
Nice video, I pass across the bridge most days so it’s interesting to see it from a different angle. I still can’t fathom the logic of slewing the lines across to slot the station in. The original alignment was a set up for high speed running, it would have made more sense to build the station to the north of these and leave the alignment alone. Fast trains could bypass the station.
Thanks for watching, if you look at around the 2 minute mark it appears that the original line is being moved a few feet nearer to the road, maybe this will become a high speed pass through. On the next update I'll take the drone further along the tracks to see if/how the roadside section is connecting to the other line(s).
@@rods-stuff The line nearest the road is the rough alignment of the up line, it was so close to the road you couldn’t have squeezed a platform between the road and the track. The down line was parallel roughly where the island platform is. They have realigned the tracks to run through the station and are now reinstating the line near the road
Cool, I was making my assumption from the view in the video, unfortunately, I wasn't in the area for about 10 years and the work began before I moved back. Imagine my surprise when driving along Essex Regiment Way from the Braintree/Dunmow end when I saw the road sign for the A131 & A12 going off to the left by the McDonalds/Costa roundabout
Beautiful Church. Drone footage is Nice. Thanks for sharing the lovely view. May GOD Almighty bless you abundantly.
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed it - will have some more churches coming soon.
Nicely captured and flown 👍👌
Thank you, normally a busy little village, I went there about 7AM on a Sunday morning while no-one was around.
Great drone footage and amazing aerial view. 👍👍👍 Thanks for sharing. Subbed and Liked. 👍👍👍
Much appreciated!
well captured :)
Many thanks, I waited until early on a Sunday morning as the village usually has loads of people wandering around. BTW, I'm your 200th subscriber!
Should have made him back up lol.
lol, the guy in the passenger seat nearly plastered his nose on the windscreen!
Beautiful colours and the monochrome was spot on. Smooth flying as well.
Flying through the archway could have been a bit smoother, I should have disabled obstacle avoidance so it didn't "wander" - never mind, lesson learned.
Quiet relaxing seaside town, you have made it look posh though
Locally, until around the mid 90's it was known as the posh part of Walton-Clacton coastline, when it was home to mostly well-off retired people. It literally took decades to get planning permission for the first pub to be granted and caused many arguments.
Great views
Thanks, the surrounding village is quite a nice place to visit, very popular with tourists.
Nice video don’t see many steam engines 🚂🚂 these days reminds me of seeing them on the local railway line when I was a kid 👍👍
The Colne Valley Railway is about 20 miles from where I live and built on an old section of track which was decommissioned in the early 60's and used to run through the town I grew up in.
I’d seen them building the new flyover when I’d been back and forth to London a few times had no idea a new station was being built and the tracks being re worked to fit the station in,used to work for network rail and a project like this would have fascinated me
I go past there every few weeks and when the work was first starting I thought that it was just simply a new road layout being put into place. I drove by about a week ago and from the ground there doesn't appear to be much progress over the last couple of months, hopefully work will proceed a bit faster when the weather improves giving me a chance to produce an update video.
Fantasticly done love the day and evening shots keep it up
Thanks for the feedback, it's just a shame that it wasn't possible to get the different times on a single day due to the very changeable weather conditions. The daylight part was shot on a Sunday morning before it opened up as I didn't want loads of people wandering about, you may also notice a patch on the grass where the circus was in the night shots taken just a couple of days earlier.
Thanks for posting. This is very interesting. I used to know the port and its surroundings well. Many years since I was last there, but doesn't seem to have changed much.
I hadn't been there for a number of years either - the only thing that appears to have changed since I was last there is that there is now a supermarket and retail park on the roundabout at the entrance to the port
The mill just gets bigger every time I see it. Shame the Maldon line shut. Trackbed now well covered by Silos
Yes, closed in 1964, around the same time as the Colne Valley line from Chappel to Haverhill line also closed.
What's happened to Sudbury.its growing relentlessly
Indeed it is, Acton is very nearly to Tesco now
Keep up the good work looks forward to more have subbed
Awesome thank you!
great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Used to go there a lot for "Management Events", Team Awaydays, and Training Courses. Thanks for the "view from above".
May do another one soon as it's exterior has been repainted recently
I discovered your video by chance while searching for something else. I used to know this area well and had no idea all this was going on. I left Essex in 2015 and now live in West Yorkshire. Apart from two brief visits to Colchester, I have not been back. Thanks for posting. It's really interesting.
I also left Essex a number of years ago, returning in 2019 - a lot has changed over the years, especially the number houses that have been built around most towns.
Great dji flight Thanks for sharing Subscribed 👍
Thanks
Thankyou Rod. Very upbeat with some great views.
Thank you, this was filmed about 6 weeks ago and I totally forgot all about it. I've watched some of your videos and I have to say you've inspired me to try out a monochrome project - keep up the good work.
Beautiful views Rod
