Do they make rear diff lockers for Sprinters ?

I had a 2022 Sprinter 2500 Diesel Cargo van that I had a very hard (I drove over two thousand miles just for the smog test, and still the Exhaust gas monitor is still not ready for the smog test) to pass the California smog test, so I had to sell it when it only had less than 10000 miles. Is Mercedes fixing the problem?

I love my 136" ProMaster 1500. Had to replace the headlights. Transmission has been totally fine, but I go easy on it. I'm short (5'4"), no problem with driving but it's a slightly awkward position with the slant of the steering wheel. I'm a one-handed driver and it's a stretch to keep my hand on the top of the wheel, so I usually keep it on the bottom. I've driven both Mercedes and Transit vans before. We ultimately decided on the ProMaster over the Transit because of FWD vs. RWD (we couldn't afford AWD).

I'm looking at this 2017 ram promaster 2500 high roof with 144,000 miles. The trans was serviced at 120k and has new Belts, plugs and Fuel Evap - asking for $17,000 is this a good deal? Pictures looks like its been maintained great

Did Dodge ever address these issues with the newer vans?

I’m about to buy a 2018 DRP with 80k and has had no big issues looking over the carfax report. Im 5’10 and I did feel uncomfortable in the seat, like if I stopped too fast I’d go through the windshield. Is there a way to change out the seats for lower?

I just traded my 2015 Promaster 2500 136” / High roof in for a 2024 Promaster 3500 159” Ext / Super high roof. (I need more space for my work). I test drove the Ford and Ram in 2016 before making my decision. I really think it’s a personal decision as I totally disagree with what he’s saying about comfort. I love how the Promaster drives (turning radius in tight delivery docks is amazing), how the seat sits and feels. I drive long distances (like 8-9 hrs at a time) and the van is more comfortable than my MDX. My last van had 60k miles on it and I never had an issue. Took it in for regular oil changes and didn’t have to make one repair. Even the tires lasted for 60k miles. I kept taking it in to my tire guy and he kept telling me they were fine. I love Promaster. I disliked how the Transit drives. It feels heavy and clunky to me, whereas the Promaster feels light and nimble. I also prefer the higher seating position. I actually miss it when I get back into my everyday car. Also, I would possibly make the decision on this alone, with most other things being equal - the fact that the back doors open all the way against the van is huge. Not having to work around doors sticking out is such a convenience. Carrying loads in and out of the van in tight areas, and not dodging the doors with my arms full, is great.

Good video but totally disagree with riding well. I have a 2020 and even with installing Sumo Springs, its like a stagecoach.

I believe the trans problem stems from it being the Standard Chrysler minivan/smaller sedan unit, not necessarily a commercial vehicle quality unit

Sprinters have thinner sheet metal than Promaster.

I have a 2016 Ram Promaster 2500 159 Highroof and it’s a Diesel engine. I need to know if you know how to rebuild it. The head Gasket blew on it . And it’s stuck in Jackson Mississippi While I’m in Atlanta Ga. Any advice would be great!

I bought 136" wb, Love it, but I wish I had a 159" for more room? 159xt might be harder to park? Easy to maneuver I mean harder to find parking space?

I've heard horror stories about the Mercedes not being mechanically sound. Any truth to that?

Bought a 2019 , 2500 series. Moisture in drivers front light has the turn singnal very dim but i don't worry abt it the drivers rear view blinker is still bright. Had a transmission parking engagement recall but they fixed that free

Good data to chew on. Ford has the most recalls of any manufacturer so also worth considering.

I rented a Transit Uhaul and was a bit disappointed in the quality (even when considering that it was a Uhaul). At 25k miles, I felt it was a bit too worn down, like it should have held up a bit better considering its age and usage. I also didn't care for the step down in the cargo area and getting in and out of the vehicle was awkward, at best. Especially since that step seemed to feel like I could lose my balance easily. I test drove a promaster and I really liked having that flat cargo area, not losing that space to a step down. I also had a bit of an issue with the Transit being rear wheel drive, on a wet grassy area and with no cargo, you could feel it slip. I like the front wheel drive for the Promaster for my purposes.

I am getting a cutaway van with a 12' box on the back. Ill pay the extra money for peace of mind that it won't explode at any minute like Dodge.

Sleeping side-to-side ('east/west') is also commonly known as 'perpendicular'. Ford also offers the 'Econoline' (used market). Chevy offers (new) the 'Express'/GMC Savana. MB Sprinters.
