In this video, we address a common concern about undergoing lipedema surgery before knee replacement. Many patients worry about scarring and whether a thigh lift will interfere with recovery. We explain how correcting hyperflexibility and improving leg alignment can actually reduce knee pain significantly. In fact, several patients scheduled for knee replacement surgery have experienced such pain relief after lipedema surgery that they decided to postpone the knee procedure by several years. • @iMaGiNaTiOnWpAsSiOn
    @iMaGiNaTiOnWpAsSiOn 2 месяца назад

    Also, those 6.6 liters or “15 lbs” weren’t even fat 🤦🏻‍♀️ What you remove during liposuction should only be counted when it’s fat. Tell us how much actual fat (lipedema) was removed. It absolutely was not 15 lbs

  • @iMaGiNaTiOnWpAsSiOn
    @iMaGiNaTiOnWpAsSiOn 2 месяца назад

    You removed 6.6 liters but 4L of that was tumescent that you injected so actually, you only removed 2.6 liters. And that wasn’t even pure fat because there’s blood and body fluids mixed in. So this poor lady only had probably 1.5-2 liters total of pure fat out of those “6.6” liters you removed. I would not endure that type of risk and trauma for 1.5-2 measly liters of fat to be removed.

  • @sblb9852
    @sblb9852 2 месяца назад

    Dr V, this is only discussing removal of the lipoma instead of the actual cause of the lipomas and the conditions this impacts. My lipedema reconstructive plastic surgeon referred me to a podiatric surgeon for treatment of this issue. Treating it through podiatry likely makes more sense than through plastics because of the location of the sural nerve in relationship to the lipomas. The condition is not limited to lipedema patients. The podiatric surgeon immediately identified the cause of the problem as result of damage to the hoke's tonsil, a piece of cartilage in the ankle. It is common to have sinus tarsi syndrome with this situation and the podiatric surgeon believed I had this too. Following an MRI, this diagnosis was confirmed. - I had sinus tarsi syndrome surgery, removal of the hoke's tonsil, additional clean-up of the ankle joint, and removal of the lipomas.

The most common causes of lymphedema in 2024 is cancer traitment. two ways to treat "fat legs": do liposuction, or do micro surgery (bypass) from the lymphatic vessels that do not function to those that do.Lipedema is an accumulation of fat which is not linked to treatment (irradiation) against cancer. In short, irradiation=lymphodoedema.This is why I ask the Doctor to give a voice to people who have been treated by him for more than a year.Another question?

    I need this surgery so badly on my arms and torso. I developed lipedema after stage 4 uterine cancer in which I lost several lymph nodes. My arms are in so much pain that doing my hair is almost impossible and I'm having numbing in my back. No doctor will listen to me, they insist that I diet and exercise. I'm autistic, I have ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) essentially I'm a picky eater. I have struggled with other eating disorders, not eating, limiting my calorie intake and even purging along with excessive exercise. I also have hEDS with some other autoimmune disorders that now keep me from exercising, which is something I enjoyed. I started ballet at 3, gymnastics and swimming at 5. But doctors look at me and see someone who is "obese" and that's it, they write me off as just a lazy fat person who does nothing but eat junk food all day. Just saw my primary and my blood work came back amazing. No where near being diabetic, blood pressure is good, cholesterol is good. My state issued health insurance says they'll cover it, but I haven't found a dr that will take me.

    A purewick or bedside commode is much better than an invasive tube up your urethra. You can absolutely still get an infection even if it’s under 24 hours. I would absolutely decline that and opt for something less invasive. I’ll be getting surgery next month and this was one thing I discussed and the surgeon is absolutely fine with removing the catheter before I’m extubated. I don’t know why MDs insist on something so uncomfortable/painful/invasive. There are OTHER OPTIONS. Unless they’re critically ill, there are other ways to monitor fluids and while providing a comfortable and safe way for the patient to urinate.
