Hello, I have completed Bachelor in Architecture, can you please guide, I am looking to learn about town planning and interested in doing masters in Urban Planning. But I am bit confused regarding responslitites and salaries comparison. Should I go for Masters in Architecture or in Urban Planning. Also, who get paid well an architect or a charted town planner?

I had finished my Bachelors in Architecture BArch (2:1) in September 2022. Managed to get a Part 1 architecture job in August... then get fired in October (not my faut - the company insisted it was due to the recent financial troubles as they were a studio of 10-15 people - they insisted that it wasn't my fault for which I grateful because it can seriously mess up with someone when they did do anything bad and did the work). Few agency jobs... and now a Job as a Technical Assistant for Aids and Adaptations at a district council. The people are lovely. Its a simple job, a little too simple but the pay is amazing for what it is and is far greater than actual graduate jobs in my field which is sad (for contrast - I get paid more than 5k a year more here). I work with some surveyors but I am not sure all are Fully Charted as the roles can be quite specific and around certain issues but their job description sounds fairly similar. Visiting properties, measuring, meeting contractors, here and here they create plans (AutoCAD) , budgeting and money allocations (public spending). I like it, I think I could go into it. So now I am researching the possibilities to achieve the full accreditation. Hopefully I will be able to do something through the council as they seem to get people who start as a Phone Assistant and in 3 years jump 3 roles and now manage the whole Repairs and Maintenance department.

I plan on becoming a chartered surveyor in the UK, I've applied for a postgraduate diploma and it's in process... Is it possible as an international student from Nigeria to become a member? What are the processes involved?

Hey, I'm an estate agent of twelve years. Has its ups and downs, but I see surveying as my next role. One year on from your video what advice would you give to someone looking to get into that role - can you point me in the direction of getting relevant qualifications etc.? Appreciate your help.

Good points I’m contemplating selling my home and just pocketing the money bc my partner and I plan to move to Mexico soon. I have the options to rent it out but I still don’t think I want the headache at all . The “American dream” can sometimes be a nightmare. 🙄.
