Check the ingredients. If there’s anything other than alcohol, I’d say no. If there is only alcohol, you could see if there’s alcohol at the bottom of the container and use that. Or squeeze out the alcohol from the pad. That’s all I can think of. Just be cautious any time you’re handling alcohol.

I’ve heard others say this. If it was mine, I wouldn’t because of the other ingredients in perfumes like scent oils and things like that. I only recommend alcohol. But if the markers are cheap and can easily be replaced if you accidentally ruin them, then I guess it can’t hurt. I would think perfume would be a much more expensive way to refill them though. Alcohol is relatively inexpensive.

I’ve found sometimes I need to do it a few times. Stop before the paper starts pilling. Then let it dry. Then try again. Glad it worked!

I’ve never tried it so I don’t know. I generally don’t put anything in my markers that aren’t supposed to be there. If it were my marker, I wouldn’t do that. Instead, I would blend two colors together. Not saying you can’t, I’m just not sure and wouldn’t do it with my own.

Watercolor paper is made for watercolor paint. You can use marker on it but it’s made to absorb water, so it will soak up your marker ink faster than regular paper will.

@@colorwithkristi ah thank you for info but what if we use some of watercolor brush before using marker use water as first layer and using secondlayer as marker it can save from have streaks? because we making slightly wet and using marker ... asking because i accidently bought water based marker instead of alcohol marker

You’ll have to give it a try. Waterbased markers are still great and have their own pros and cons. My advice is to test them out. Play with them. The main difference is blending and streaking is more visible with water based. But you can make great art or coloring pages with water based as well. Have fun with it. Try it out. Don’t be afraid to ruin a page. I have MANY MANY ruined pages for every good page I make. And I learned what I know about markers by using them and testing them out. Don’t worry too much about the end result. Just have fun with it! You got this!

Look at the ingredients to be sure. If there’s anything but alcohol, I would not. You can google what the ingredients are to see if they’re harmful.

I wouldn’t use anything but alcohol. Thing is… depending on the perfume, it might work. But there might be something in it that ruins your markers. I wouldn’t risk it.

I’m not sure what that is exactly. Do you mean like alcohol ink you use to make art? I only trust pure alcohol with mine or the replacements the company (ex. Ohuhu or Copic) offer for my markers. But read the ingredients. You can look up the ingredients and decide if they’ll hurt your markers. I think of it like a car. My car only takes regular fresh gas. I could use premium, but it’s not made for my car. Diesel is also fuel, but would likely destroy my car. I ONLY trust fresh gas to protect my car that I’ve invested in. Pure alcohol is the only thing I trust outside of the refills made by the respective company. I hope that makes sense.

Nail polish remover could ruin your markers because of what they put it in to break down the nail polish. I only use alcohol. I’m glad you liked my tips though. I’ve got a few longer videos on what to fill markers with. Why and why not.

I prefer the copic fineliners over micron now. They are nicer quality and offer a bit of a different quality. Why do you loath microns? Just curious.

@colorwithkristi they require longer drying time. The nibs are fragile for my hands. I've had problems with the nib length on things like rulers and not being able to see. They are the only pens I actually run out of ink with, and I don't even draw that much. Their cheap, so that helps. There's some other reasons, but those are what come to mind. Unipin has been my go-to, but Copic is close to the same price. At least for this particular set. Was thinking of trying them if the bleed through is better than unipin. Not that uni have a problem with that. Just been curious mostly.

I have had issues with the tips wearing down fast. They don’t seem to be very strong. And ink runs out. I’d like to get a fountain pen with replaceable ink eventually but the pens are pricey. I like copic a lot. I haven’t had them super long and only used about maybe 20 times. Ink is still good and the tips are like new. They dry fast and feel good going on the paper. I highly recommend. What type of things do you draw, if you don’t mind me asking.

I haven't drawn or done any art since 9th grade because an instructor made me haye myself. I picked art back up about 3 years ago. I'm in my 40s. Started drawing again about 3 weeks ago. I draw anything from sunsets to characters to portraits. I started inking to play with watercolor, which got me into this whole pen debacle. I also paint acrylic on canvas, miniatures, face and body art, spray paint, etc. Learning pottery. In other words, I'm an adhd hobbist. This all started with comic books when I was young. Buddy passed away, and I inherited his collection. Which got me back into drawing about 3 weeks ago. Professionally, I'm a therapist and figure it might be important to know a thing or two about art if I preach art therapy and the importance of hobbies to my clients. Heh. I just followed you on Instagram. Keep going. I have a similar story. I’ve always been artistic in nature, always loved creating. But I never made it a priority. I also have diagnosed ADHD and that’s why my channel seems chaotic in topics. A few years ago, I started coloring for mental health. I started a tiktok and began doing live coloring and videos. That’s when I discovered alcohol markers. I enjoyed them and started posting building a I had drawn locally. Suddenly people wanted to buy my art. I’m going to be 40 this year. A year and a half, I was coloring books I made with art I purchased from other artists. Now, I have a RUclips channel, sell commissioned art, sell originals, have a coloring book with my own art, make coloring pages as a freelancer for others, and just this week I entered into my second art competition and did a watercolor study. I have my art on prints and cards in local shops, have sold art in an exhibit, and more! It’s never too late! I worked in a stuffy industry for 10 years and worked myself to the bone trying to hustle every day. We only get one life. Something that helped me a LOT was joining a local group of artists who meet up and create once a week. Meeting other artists has kept me going. And it’s helped me find opportunities, learn things I never would have thought to ask, and just have a sense of community. Keep going! Even if it’s seems chaotic. And don’t worry about knowing what you’re doing for art therapy. Like I tell every single person who asks. Art isn’t about the finished piece. It’s about the peace you create in your mind while you’re creating it. Even if you never sell your art or make anything you think is good, it’s the process of creating it that IS the reward. And art truly is in the eye of the beholder. I’ve sold originals that I never thought would sell. But some people connect with a piece on a personal level. I never thought I’d sell art in an exhibit. But someone connected with the piece and needed to have it. You got this!!
