    I remember seeing one of the mega pictures of all the farm sets for City, and there was this entire field of wheat made up of yellow 4L bars inserted into green jumper plates, and I was like "Dude, where can you get all of those?" I had no desire to do such a thing, but the majority of colors those parts are made in are translucent because of Star Wars, the idea of having a solid yellow was totally new to me. It was rare before 2009, and it really didn't become a lot more popular until the late 2010s and early 2020s, but even then, there's only ever one or two in a set. Bricks and Pieces was probably the way to go if you wanted to create a wheat field, but it just felt like a bit of false advertising because in theory, with some of the loose parts in your collection and the line of sets, you could have a setup like what was shown, but who's going to have hundreds of yellow 4L bars for the harvester to even do it's job if you're not going to supply that set with something for it to harvest anyway? I did eventually get at least one yellow 4L bar in 7634, it provides a bit of added rigidity in the pins that hold that bucket thing in the back, and I never use it for anything. I don't even remember why I got it. For some reason, I get the sense that I needed to reach a certain price threshold for a promo, and my mom decided to pick it out for me, or maybe it was a gift, and anything LEGO would suffice. I don't know, but this set is always associated with my mom for some reason. Maybe it's just because she was there when I obtained the thing. It's so weird how I just don't know anything surrounding this set except that she was involved in some way. I like the black shovel, and the windshield pieces are neat, but I don't know if I've ever really used anything from it for anything, even just the basic bricks. I don't regret getting any LEGO set that's ultimately just for parts, but I never made good use of them and could have probably just left it as a tractor.

    I was thinking that how that 7237 appeared from 2007? And worse of all these set where released in 2005 and then the police sets are still here 2006 but hospital and emergency collection memes has been released 2006

    I remember when I first played the game back in 2007. There was an earlier version where the police station was the 2005 one (7237) and had the old police car in black (7236). That version is unfortunately lost media, so you'll have to take my word for it.

    5610 I got one of those guys. It was a little freebie given away with purchases at the LEGO Store (I think). 7738 I've had hands on experience with this set because of a friend, and I have to say, it's pretty great. Huge helicopter, compared to all the other vehicles, although not outlandish compared to real life because SmarterEveryDay had a series of videos on the Coast Guard, and one of these types of helicopters was a focal point, and it's big. 20002 Also have this one because my parents gave me a BrickMaster subscription for Easter and kept it running for 3 years. Pretty neat to get some newer parts I wasn't accustomed to for the front and back bumpers that are also part of the wheel well. Also I love the FIre gear that syncs with the air tanks and helmet. What's cool about that, is that it just slides onto the head, it's not actually held in place except by the air tank valves. I never found a good way to make it work for something Sci-fi, but the air tank and helmet combo just looks so good, and the part really doesn't work without them.

    The pilot's sunglasses must be prescription with a flight that takes him directly toward the sun because that's ridiculous. Have a car accident on the tracks, forcing the train to have to make an emergency stop, preventing the pilot from getting to the airport on time in order to keep everything else on schedule. More important to pick up the pilot than just his sunglasses.

    "This set's just a little too big for my setup" Yeah, I don't think LEGO was expecting someone to get every set and use it in a City display. Some of these sets are outrageously huge though. Even in Star Wars, there came a point in the mid 2010s where everything was just big to get all the details, but nothing was ever in scale with each other either. With City, there's definitely some determining factors, but even with regards to minifigs, some of these things would be humongous if made for humans.

  • @MCLegoboy
    @MCLegoboy 22 дня назад

    It makes sense not to have the airport as part of your City. They're generally further out from a city just so that there's room, and they take up a lot of space if you try to be scale accurate. A sea port can more easily be next to a city without too much issue, it would just be more about having a specific district because of noise or smells that might disrupt the community as a whole.

    I don't know, if you never got the sets or only really want 3 of the sets for a build now, maybe 2005 really wasn't a good year for LEGO City.

    • @CommanderKnox
      @CommanderKnox Месяц назад

      The era of Lego city that I have the most nostalgia for is the 2005 - 2011 time. I think this point in the 2000's was a weird time for the company as a whole. I'll go more into detail when I look at other years

      @@CommanderKnox Yeah, LEGO was still in a bit of restructuring from the late 90s and early 2000s financial woes because of all the overspecialized pieces and 1 year themes.

    Ugh, those stickers look evil. I thought applying UCS plaque ones were bad, but multiples for a similar detail across the whole thing with no definitive spot to do it? Just print it. Also would make for putting in water easier. It's not every day you get a LEGO boat that can float, but not at the cost of the stickers.

    Woah, hey man, didn't think I'd ever hear from you again! Nice setup. Maybe we can get a bit more going on, too. Get some subtle wakes and ebb and flowing of the water, maybe a dolphin or something. A man falling into the river in LEGO City? Big RIP to MOCpages, Sean Kenney let us down. If you're on Flickr, I'm still there, and can typically be found moderating the BIScord server on Discord if you've got that, too. Same name and everything.
