I found out from commenting on a previous video that this is not an official IMSA channel but that makes no difference. I love this kind of racing and it's great to see it's history.. ALMS was brilliant and deserved more exposure at the time. Really good racing and I come back to it time and time again.

Thanks for the subtitles! Shame the broadcast had no commentary because that seemed like a crazy race! Including Capello doing a Lewis Hamilton impression in the end (well, I guess it was the other way around)

For a pretty flat, featureless, concrete canyon-type track around a parking lot that was only on the calendar for that one year, it actually put on a way better spectacle than you'd ever expect. This was a banger.

Nice to see the tribute to the great Bob Wolleck at the beginning. He was an excellent racing driver and a helluva nice guy.

I was confused at the championship result, because I remember from that old Andy Blackmore ALMS poster with all the championship-winning cars that the Panoz won in 1999, but I forgot about the split between the drivers and teams championships. Normally both of those pieces of hardware would go to the same outfit, but that's not how it worked out in '99. And then you have the added weirdness of Lehto and BMW winning neither championship despite winning half the races because they voluntarily skipped rounds. It's like nobody wanted to come out as the clear #1 in that first season, but *(spoilers)* Audi would soon change all of that.

So many incredible names in this race. I miss watching these races as a kid.

I don't miss the audi domination that would span several years, but I value it being a vital part of history which helped us reach the present platinum age of endurance racing. I do however miss these lmp and GT cars
