The winter of 2016 started slow in Europe, with almost no snowfall in for two months. Upon arrival in Chamonix, Jacob was greeted with summer-like conditions. On New Years' day however, the snow finally arrived, and it didn't stop for two weeks... Follow Jacob through the forests surrounding the Mont Blanc this exceptionally deep January, and get a peek into some of the best corners of the Cham...
You guys are INSANE!!! And obviously very skilled. Nice flying kick turns in that chute. A little death defying there on the rappelling section, but what a payoff! Epic day, epic video. Makes my Valleé Blanche trip seem mundane. The one I did in 2008 was a bit more nuts cuz I went the “wrong way” to the left of the island following Mom, Dad, and the kids, only it was not Dad, it was a guide and they all had telemark skis and were VERY adept mountaineers. They did MOT ski the vertical moguls, they stepped down them. Not so easy on a snowboard. Face against the mountain I had to “slushy slide” back and forth to get down about 400 vertical feet without falling or tumbling to assured death…. 3 times! But the bowls. At the end of each was worth it…? I never went that way again, so maybe not…. They all went into the refuge where I dropped that entire untracked face, I’m guessing 2000 vert of pow. Yeah. I love Chamonix! French Alps! You guys give Glen Plake a run for his money!😅
#Hommage
made look so casual holy heck
Two professionals with nerves of steel! More steep than it looks! Which skis did you use for that? Especially the couloir is sick! So narrow, failure is not an option there.
Sweeeeeeet!!
wow
this is the most beautiful trail. would love to ski it but idk how to use the ropes
Hats off guys impressive!! Just returned from Cham yesterday I ski couloirs but not this degree of difficulty, guessing you need a good covering ?
I take it, this is a lot steeper than the video makes it look then? 😅🤔
why do you have only 65 subs???
Waaaay to low!! Great vids
Sick Bien joué
