What temp do you set the iron to?

Can I order this service? Back in 2010 my girlfriend gave me her SP and Emerald that had a bad battery that slowly leaked on the prongs underneath of them. I tried cleaning it but noticed with rubbing alcohol but noticed that some prongs fell off. It hasn't been working and I can't remember if I kept her file or remade it but I would love to play it again

This just tells you the importance of using flux, makes your life a hell of a lot easier to get pins to hold solder and not go where you don’t want it😂😂😂😂

lol funny you mentioned the R9 missing often. That was the case for me... but with research and a little investment into soldering equipment I was able to learn how to replace it. It was my second Soldering job, first being GBA battery replacements.

Fantastic video. I got very close to doing significant damage on my first repair, but this is great to have in case the next battery change goes awry or for my next soldering job

I'm glad I found this video, I'm currently trying to fix a copy of leafgreen I got as a child that cant save. It has had this problem ever since I got it and I remember being very disappointed as a kid, so it will make me very happy if I can fix it. You're video was very satisfying's to watch and makes me feel like I will be successful.

Hi, not sure if you’ll ever see this but I was curious if you could tell me what the r10 component on emerald sapphire and ruby is? I know that it can either be a cap or a resistor for agb-e05-01 but what do these 3 specifically use? Also if it is the capacitor can you give me the exact specs or possibly an exact part number for replacing them. Some places say to use 1uf cap some say 0.1uf and I don’t know what I’d right. I really want to save this game.

Do you still do repairs? I tried changing the clock battery on my authentic Sapphire but I think I bridged two pins on the ROM chip with a tweezer by accident and then saw a spark. Was so upset when I saw that and it dawned on me that I most likely fried the chip...

what i always tell people is learn how to solder practice for a while when you are skilled and confident enough then go ahead because its not like you can go to shop and buy a new game

Would you ever consider posting links to equipment you use for these repairs? Also do you have any kind of specialized training in this or work in this field (electronics repair)? I’m interested to learn and possibly find a job doing this type of stuff for other applications as well. You definitely have a lot of technical knowledge.

You have insane skill. Working on electronics this small is so difficult. One wrong move like the original owner of this cartridge did and everything can fail.

I killed my DS Lite the same way but it wasn't on purpose, just a soldering mistake on my PK Sapphire :'(, surprisely my GBA SP didn't die... I did fix the soldering issue on the game and now it boots, but it just won't save anymore, even if it says it did. Maybe one of the capacitors blew? I don't know... I still miss my DS (I replaced the sus fuse but still won't turn on). Great video, mate!
