WEST BEXINGTON FISHING SESSION
Просмотров 1679 часов назад
Taking a break from the Bristol Channel and we headed to the big beach Abbotsbury was the plan but that was a touch too rough so we fished West Bex instead giving the snag bait spray a go and ended up with 14 fish for myself and Gary had 9 and unfortunately Gary lost something decent we think a ray close in to the shore.

Bossington general

A general fishing session as we couldn't get out on the Friday night it was out on the daytime on Monday with the remnants of storm Darragh still kicking about and a new storm coming in so it was a case of hide where you can fish for as long as I could.

Information series on West Somerset marks this one is Gasworks in Minehead just past the harbour. Best fished on larger spring high tides as they are more productive.
Blue anchor guide

A quick guide to Blue anchor at low tide. PLEASE NOTE: THE CLAY BANKS ARE DANGEROUS AND SHOULDNT BE VENTURED INTO RESCUES HAPPEN A LOT AND THE TIDE COMES IN AT 1.5-2 YARDS A MINUTE HERE! Water comes up too the wall! The rocks are slippery although some use a ladder to go over the barriers and retrieve larger fish, personally I wouldn't recommend it as it can be lethal.

using large baits only this is the first session of filming doing so, unfortunately some footage was lost due to a malfunctioning camera and corrupted the card but managed to get the audio an retrieve some footage of winding in the bass but is poor for a couple of minutes so apologies for that!

3 fish bait up with Bluey, Herring & Mackerel
hi mate , im glad you put this one up , im fishing there tomorrow night wednesday . i fished that same spot a couple of weeks ago in -4 the gopro played right up so couldnt film it , there was a few pout about so happy days ,
Tight lines mate there were small bites quick rattles that went as quick as they came but was obviously really small stuff.
Hey Danny, looks like i need to come to the uk and further your fishing tuition. Lots of love Grandad
He said keep dreaming and rolled his eyes 👀 😂😂
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for posting 👍 could do with this sort of breakdown on all marks of the Bristol Channel.
@@shaunjones6049 I’m filming bossington tomorrow and will be going up the channel when in wales fishing I’ll do more over there and then branch into Devon as well
Well presented, and very informative thank you for sharing 👍 Keep posting 👍
Have you done a guide for Bossington yet? I think that the "Guide" videos are really helpful. I'm not as nimble as I used to be so your guides have given me a huge boost. Keep it up.
@@sunray1411 thank you and no I haven’t yet I was actually planning on that one next 👍🏻 with Watchet Donniford and so on going up channel afterwards then moving into Devon and other areas I visit as well. Thank you for the feedback back! The Bossington guide should be out around Wednesday 14th all being well.
Brilliant video mate. I do exactly the same sort of information 'guides'in my area , East Anglia. Really useful for visiting anglers or locals alike. Subscribed 👍
Thanks mate I appreciate the feedback! They are all coming out weekly starting with west Somerset and will branch into Devon too.
Excellent. These will be very handy for myself if I holiday or fish your area 👍
a fish is a fish mate they kept you busy , sea was a bit moody mate . good session in that wind tho
For seeing how the bait spray works in salt water check out the hairy pollock channel here on this video ruclips.net/video/2_A9izLqU_s/видео.htmlsi=2tliE4_S9bceoBQE
nice one mate , are the traps still out there chap oyster ones . havnt fished there for a few years now .
Yeah they are still on that Sandy patch I think now there are a couple more as well, the current rips across that part on a large spring and sends the gear into them if the lead isn’t gripped and heavy enough.
Thanks for taking the time to make the video. Some handy information there. Keep it up.
No problem thanks for watching and commenting 🎣😊
nicely presented mate , ive lost some gear around gore point and above in the past lol , nice one chap catch up with you soon i expect
Cheers mate and yes Gore point can be a lead a chuck a lot of the time. Definitely catch you soon!
Quality watch, thank you
No problem, thank you for the feedback more coming at weekly intervals :)
hey buddy, great video! are you not on facebook anymore?
@@devonseafishing no haven’t been for a while I was hacked and deleted and haven’t restarted one yet. Solely on TikTok and instagram at present
its just good to get there mate init , a few fish is a bonus , well done mate
Yes absolutely mate, I was happy to see fish with so many blanking I heard that the west coast match only a couple of fish were caught and there were 75 anglers ☹️ I’ll be out for the cod end of the week or next week early and maybe a large bait session as well.
@@thesnagfishingblog yeah i heard they had a bit of a rough time but thats fishing for you mate , helway should start to show over the next week or so , i will catch up with you around there some where . cheers for now mate
well done mate good mark that , i always fish it low and a few hours up
well done mate nice bass that , how we havnt bumped into each other is beyond me , see you on a beach somewhere chap
@@SOMERSETBEACHFISHINGtony always out can find me on TikTok under the snag if you want a fish 🎣 😎
Lovely idea making a video showing a bit more detail of the venue, access, etc. I've fished Blue Anchor a few times, admittedly without a great deal of success; mostly Whiting and LSD's. Looking forward to the next one.
@@sunray1411 thank you 🎣👍🏻 always nice to see venues a bit more especially if someone is travelling a fair way to fish it 👍🏻
Good job!!
Need to sort your tags out mate. Your videos are very informative but for some reason aren't being seen enough.
Brilliant video, much appreciated. Fresh Razor is a nightmare to work with but that's all I can get.
but certainly worth the effort works wonders when other baits are not proving good for myself.
Another great vt Martin 🎣👍
What bait and rigs did you use? Planning on a couple trips this year!
Hi Joe here i was using pulley rigs with a 3/0 mustad uptide viking 2ft trace and squid cut down the middle long ways and whipped up and good luck where you heading too for your hounds?
@@thesnagfishingblog me and a couple mates off here next Wednesday 1.4.21, hopefully catch something. Have loads of squid, mackerel, lug, cuttlefish so have to catch something. Last time we went had about 20 dogfish between us
@@izardindustries i caught a hound here last week so they have started! good luck and let me know how you get on!
I know the pennel hook is there aswell but just a question, how come you put the head section of the eel on the bottom of the bait and not the top??
For me Its just personal preference a lot of friends do it this way but I find that with the head and tail off it makes no difference with the fish biting or taking the bait but with the tail end at the bottom of the hook it sits there better as its tighter around the hook and no excess, but if the fish hits the bleeding head end then it won't matter as the pennel hook is there. Some say its more aerodynamic the other way around.... personally I think it wont get any extra yardage with casting it weights virtually nothing and sits behind any lead aerodynamically anyway. but i guess tail end first entering the water first is tougher and more streamlined for entering the water not mushrooming your bait with the force. If its the last one with the head on then thats because normally sand eels get smashed in the middle hence where the hook is and when in the water if your fishing on the bottom when they bury themselves the tail is either under the sand or gravel with the head poking out or they sit the tail on the sand with the head up. So for me is about presentation... does it make a difference? I'm not sure but I have caught when friends next to me don't and yet all is the same baits used etc :) I do think though if a fish is there and you have a bait there it will take it anyway 99% of the time.
Great video mate!! 👍🎣😁
Cracking video Martin 🎣👍
cheers :D
Great video mate 👍 looking forward to having a session when we can 😀🎣
Absolutely can't wait mate
