Sorry, most farms don’t have time for this.....I am all for a lift a day, bit of hay, silage and ration but 95% of the time the cow is done and you’re wasting time and money....
It is disappointing to read that you have had such poor results in saving downercows. Research from Gippsland, Victoria,Australia has shown that recovery rates close to 50% are achievable if downer cows are given good care. The same researchers also found recovery rates of 5%, similar to your experience, on farms where the care of the cows was considered inadequate
