I bought my 2010 6,2 Raptor in 2011 in Alaska. I have only 71,000 miles but I beat the crap out of it off-roading. I retired to NC and drove it only in bad weather. It’s 2024 and I have a new found appreciation for it! I think I’ll supercharge it and put big ass shocks on it and make it a true Baja truck.

80k on my gen 1 she has never left me stranded and I mob the hell out of my rig. I drive new trucks and go home to see that they offer nothing more than my truck already has. She is a hammer compared to the Drill as I like to call the boosted engines. Yes a drill is faster, but a Ol hammer will never let you down!

2012 Raptor super crew owner here in iconic silver. I absolutely love my truck! It’s very rare seeing a Gen1 in SoCal, all I see are Gen2’s and more Gen3’s. Once every few weeks I’ll see 1 other Gen1 and never in my color! But I have bronze method 305’s, black widow exhaust, k&n intake, winch, air compressor, fox 3.0 with KHC coil bucket, evil mfg uca’s/LCA’s, deaver +3 springs, RPG RST 18 in rear with fox 3.5 triple bypass, iwe deletes, going to be switching out my front setup for rpg bolt kit soon with adv fiberglass all around and 37’s. It’s a hell of a truck, better gas mileage than the Tacoma I had plus much more power! Now my malamute has room to move around in the truck! Would I buy another?! Absofukkinlutely!!

I’m never getting rid of it .

I know sunroof has problems, but the dealer did work on it, and I would never open it. Heard about the fuse 27 issue. Spark plugs a pain/expensive. Anything else? Appreciate any advice.

I just bought a 2012 gen 1 single owner all records maintained and in a folder. This thing is very nice to drive it has lots of little upgrades such as MSD ignition coils new NGK plugs, drilled and slotted rotors, bbk throttle body, bbk cold air intake, corsa extreme cat back exhaust, aftermarket headlights and tail lights, different diff cover with drain, method rims, sequential signals in mirrors and a host of other nice little mods has 100k on it and the previous owner shared pictures with me of him threw several stages of this truck going down the assembly line. I feel i got super lucky and got one from a guy that really loved his truck.

I can see how this opinion is formed when your from the states as you have far better access to these sorts of vehicles. I have owned one for nearly one year now over in New Zealand and couldn't be happier with it. If I was to buy a f150 raptor base model in NZ by the time it's converted over I'm paying around 130k USD for it, and for the dodge TRX that is around 150k USD. In car review articles they have compared the ranger raptor and TRX over in Australia and the ranger raptor was perfered over the TRX in some aspects mainly refinement and on road driving. If I was to improve my ranger raptor I would have it with 35s not 33s and an extra 100hp wouldn't hurt.

The first were $130k but sticker on these were like $43,000 in 2012. Even with inflation, current pricing is completely inflated and unnecessary. Gas mileage is CRITICAL to me (storm chasing = massive annual mileage and cost) Personally, I really wanted the 5.4L to have been offered longer. I don't need extreme fast performance and the slightly better mileage would have been waaaaay better for me. HOWEVER, the 2010 (only year of the 5.3L) was only offered as an extended cab. The full crew cab was added the second year (2011) but dropped the 5.3L. I really wish I could afford the Ecoboost although the longevity/reliability is questionable and always prefer V8s (same with 4runners/Sequoia debate. I don't know...maybe if I could get my YT monetized I could afford any of it.

My 2014 SVT special edition has 117K with only a battery, rotors, shocks, tires replaced. This truck replaced my 2012 SVT and is the only time I have ever replaced a vehicle with same after owning over 50 cars in my 75 year of existance. I am one of the few that payed well under sticker! I still have the window sticker and this super cab with EVERY option was only around 55K! Anyway, my dealer says "never sell this truck". This will be my last vehicle I will likely own or drive at my age. PS I run regular gas so considering how many newer vehicle now require premium at 50 plus cents a gallon, well not too bad. Thanks for the great review - well detailed and easy to understand.
