The GASSER gets a NAME!!

15 years ago, I stumbled upon a band called The Koffin Kats. They are an amazing psychobilly, rockabilly band, and one of their song is called V8 nightmare. The song consists of a man betting his soul against the devil that he can outrun the Devils car at a drag-strip. I thought the song was so freaking cool and sounded so awesome I really wanted to have a car one day called the V8 nightmare an...

    The best vids leave a website and or price of where you got your parts. This looks like a good way to renew axles and tires. I like having one spare that can be for truck or trailer. 2/15/24, 10 pm

      It depends on the workmanship of the build and the condition of the drivetrain being put in. i owned the fummins for 4 years and only had 2 breakdowns, and they were both my fault.

I’m preparing for -40°c cold starts with block heater and oil pan heater also going. The engine has 450,000k it needs every thing to come to life Ha!

I’ve seen with some rigs with the winch up high they welded a D ring straight down from the winch with a snatch block to get a straight pull after the rig is up on the trailer .. Just wondering Mine is mounted level basically with bed That creates a different issue 😜 Just got the trailer so after the wind snow and rain I’ll go install it see what happens 😅

    hey .nice truck. i got a 97 with the stroke. . going thru a trailer feed back prob with mine. key off , when we hook up trailer , the truck lights come on and my electric fuel pump starts. ( i did my version of fuel bowl delete, haz elect. pump now). so it has a good ground with a 10 g white wire . i have no idea. it is a bison whore #%^*% .... i mean horse trailer. nuthin but trouble.

    • @KevinFreist
      @KevinFreist Год назад

      fixed it. itwas the nice looking trailer ground that was NOT GROUNDED. Bison trailers are junk. looks nice but totaly half assed craftsmanship. added new ground from junction box to chassis with a 10 g white wire. everything works correctly now. bad grounds can present problems you wouldn't ascribe to a bad ground . easiest to check that FIRST before tearing wiring apart. one added wire solved 5 different problems. when trailer was plugged to truck , fuel pump came on , running lights came on and brakes did not work . key off in truck . it was grounding itself through my power to pump and running pump as power went thru it to ground. i know it sounds nuts but that is exactly what happened. btw have the old obs fuel bowl gone .has e pump under truck connected to trailer accessory power and ground. as long as trailer isn't robbing circuts for ground it works perfect. 50 psi at crank in fuel gallys . bison installed a 14 g ground wire to runn brakes and all of the camper and lighting. now all the lights are brighter and brakes lock up w ease. had to dial them back .

    Build a stock 400? At least a cam, not even a roller, just a little more aggressive. Maybe stronger valve springs so you can hot rod it without floatin. I'd put money on the fact a cam, springs, lifters and rods kit already exists that you don't have to figure out, just install same as stock. Performence intake, not much thinking involved in that just a single plane to be better than stock. Port match to the gaskets and polish the heads, you could do that yourself for cheap. It's tools and skills you already use machining. You could ease the oil passages with the same polishing kit. Don't even have to enlarge them just take off the sharp edges, improve flow. Double roller timing set for safety, your gonna get new gears and chain anyway might as get one that'll stand up to power increases later. Just entry level upgrades not some crazy high compression comp cam full roller with a blower. Is it even a hot rod without a bit of Performance?

    • @MidwestMoose
      @MidwestMoose Год назад

      I should’ve been more specific, otherwise a pedantic asshole might speak up. when I say it’s not going to be built, I meant like a blower or stroker out the gate, all the above upgrades are obvious moves.
