Intertribal Timber Council

Established in 1976, the Intertribal TImber Council (ITC) is a nonprofit nation-wide consortium of Indian Tribes, Alaska Native Corporations, and individuals dedicated to improving the management of natural resources of importance to Native American communities. Currently over 60 tribes and Alaska Native Corporations belong to our organization.
The ITC works cooperatively with the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), private industry, and academia to explore issues and identify practical strategies and initiatives to promote social, economic and ecological values while protecting and utilizing forests, soil, water, and wildlife.
The National Indian Timber Symposium began in 1977 and is held annually by ITC. The symposium is designed to facilitate communication from the perspective of tribes, the BIA, private industry, legislative bodies, and academia on issues and concerns of current forestry management practices.

OTR has been a big player in many different initiatives in Tribal Consultation throughout the U.S. This video does a nice job of letting folks get a glimpse of Fred Clark's perspective on these efforts.

I agree. When you come across really pushy "partners," they usually do have ulterior motives. The same can also be said when you receive an unusual amount of support from people that generally meet you with resistance, that especially includes B.I.A. If your tribe has the full support of B.I.A., proceed with extreme caution!! Oh, this issue is bigger than just Tax Credits!!
