Love the Mythographic pages

The suction cups are better flat. The stick just fine for spinning, and they don't pull off when you lift it up. I just got mine a few days ago. I've always used a drop spindle, so I'm learning this on the little one. It's small enough for the table, but big enough bobbins for me. So far, I love it. I've spun a bobbin and a half. I can't wait to ply on it. Another video said, 2.5 grams per bobbin. You're good at spinning. I'm enjoying watching you do this.

Beautiful pages. I’m a teacher, too, and I understand about having a lot on your plate. Your son comes first. It’s so exciting that he is doing so well in swim. Cherish these moments, because they are gone before you know it. My oldest is 24, and she just got married and is finishing her Masters. My son is 22, almost 23, and graduated from college in May and is living in Austin. I’m proud of them for being independent, but I miss them. Take care.

The Mythographics are my favorite book series. I own everything since Odessey, except one that came out this year that was a new artist and I just didn't care for at all.. it was obviously clip art and nowhere near the level of the usual artists. I just ordered my tenth book which came out December 5th. I just can't with the hidden objects though, so although I absolutely adore some of the works in the early books, I won't buy them. I keep hoping they will re-release them sometime in the future without the objects.. I want Animals and Aquatic so badly but being some of the earliest books they are FILLED with the most ridiculous objects everywhere, like twenty to a page. They got less and less as time went on, and Odyssey and Wild Winter aren't bad at all, the objects are much fewer and fit much better with the page topic. I've seen a lot of people cover them in different ways but nothing works well enough for me to be happy with the pages after, and these are not quick pages so if I'm going to invest that kind of time I want to love them when they are finished. I'm currently working in something else seasonal but the last several pages I did in Mythographic were the title pages. I did one to test some new pencils and just kept on going lol, I finished seven of them so far. I find I do best if I skip from book to book, they each have a theme and it can get a bit repetitious to do pages from the same book back to back.

I just got one a little over two weeks ago! It’s my first ever spinning wheel, I’ve only used a supported spindle before to spin lace weight yarn for my lace knitting. It’s awesome! Still getting the hang of it as it’s so much faster than spindle spinning but I am absolutely in love. I can’t treadle because of nerve damage in my back that impairs one of my legs and treadling would become very painful very fast. I’ve just plied my first bobbin (undyed superfine merino) and it’s gorgeous. A tiny bit thicker than what I made with my spindle but that only means I need a bit more practice. I’ll start with spinning at the same thickness I have now to complete a small lace scarf before trying to go finer. If you find the Z and S indications hard to see, you might consider rubbing something coloured over the raised letters. I used a small dab of contrasting acrylic paint that i then rubbed off with the tip of my finger in such a manner that it left a bit in the ‘turns’ of the letters but nothing on the raised parts. Just enough to create a shadow effect. It’s not really noticeable, but is enough to keep me from having to whip out a strong light and my readers every time.
