This is one of my favorite episodes from season 2. I was happy to see Janine and Gregory share the moment in the flower classroom. Even if they were tipsy 😂. I’m glad Jacob wasn’t swayed by the Addington people and I was laughing so hard at Barb and her Math-a-ritas 😂😂

While I'm sure the beating didn't help, Grog isn't weak-minded, just uneducated (Intelligence 6 -- low; Wisdom 10 -- average). That's more likely a result of the fact that the Herd doesn't have any formal education. The game is definitely stepped up in Season 3! There are actually a LOT of vestiges.

The beating Grog took didn't affect his intelligence. He's just dumb lol (only had an intelligence level of 6). Also, Kevdak wouldn't have stood a chance against the dragon, even with the vestige. While it's very powerful, it absolutely would take way more than just them to defeat him. These are ancient dragons and are absurdly strong and difficult to hit/damage

Garmelie was a Faun/Satyr. According to Shakespeare, the King of the Faeries was Oberon. That wasn't him, but it's a good guess; if we don't meet him again in LoVM, we'll meet him in The Mighty Nein. We've seen Scanlan transform before; we saw him learn the spell then figure out to sing it when he turened into a Triceratops and destroyed Vedmire's house. It's suggested that Willhand was the first person Grog faced who didn't fight back. That glint might have been the Everlight (god of redemption).

The twins' backstory was explored in a whole novel, called Kith and Kin. it was simplified greatly - and all nuance was stripped away. In game, Syldor says he is proud of what his children have done, and he actually understands his own prejudice against half-elves. (But then, in game, the twins and Vox Machina had done a job for him when he was ambassador to Emon before they encountered him in the Fey Realm). And in that, he changed the document to reflect Vex's new title. I get they needed to simplify things for animation, and Troy Baker is brilliant at being despicable, but I miss the shades of grey.

I hope you guys realize how cool it is that Willhand was voiced by Henry "The Fonz" Winkler. Grog isn't married; he goes to a brothel whenever he has the urge. Titania was the queen of the faeries, and Oberon was the king (I know -- I played him in High School!). Both Saundor and "The Perv" are arch-fey; they have not quite godlike power. We might see "The Perv" again, if not in Vox Machina, in The Mighty Nein (the next show coming from Critical Role). Vax & Vex' dad is just a racist asshole. He only took care of them out of noble responsibility. In the campaign, he showed the possibility for redemption, but I don't see that happening in the show. You want to watch the next couple of episodes back-to-back -- arguably the best of the show. If y'all hurry, you will be ready for Season 3 this week!

He couldn’t deliver the final blow, it was impossible at the time. It only looked like the dragon was losing because he was playing him. Dragons do that manipulative shit mannnn. Great reaction btw! (Not once did he spit acid when fighting grog)

Keyleth's mom, VIlya, is played by Janet Varney, the voice of Avatar Korra. "Song for Osysa" is amazing and I wish they released it on radio. Also the Outhouse song. Umbrasyl was toying with Grog. One blast of that acid breath and Grog would've been gone.

There will be more info on Vax and the Matron of Ravens later in the series. Suffice it to say that the Matron of Ravens let Vex live in exchange for Vax taking up the mantle of her Champion. Also, the Matron isn't necessarily 'bad', she's the Goddess of Death which is something that has to come for everyone eventually. She's really more neutral than evil. Loving the reactions, looking forward to more!

i actually like the more serious where there aren’t as many in your face jokes, it’s still funny but i think as the show goes on the plot and characters are stronger/important (also you guys didn’t discuss gregory technically cheating on amber with janine by letting her grind up on him and about to kiss her lol)

Vex dying is totally Percy's fault. He goaded Vex into helping him with the sarcophagus ("Your brother certainly wouldn't approve") when Vax told them not to touch anything. It was more Percy saying, after Vax said he didn't want to hear it at that moment, that he didn't know that he'd do anything differently that triggered a well deserved sock in the jaw. You'll find out more about those golden threads later. I don't think it's a spoiler to point out that they look like the same ones from the opening credits. As you saw, the thread that previously connect Vax to Vex now looks to be attached to the Matron of Ravens. The armor belonged to the Champion of the Matron of Ravens, and after surrendering to fate/death (two of the Matron's domains) it seems like Vax has taken up that mantle.

So happy to see this! Can’t wait for y’all to finish this season and season 3! Season 4 starts October 9th.
