Having high heat, high alpha damage on lights usually means you have plenty of time to reposition between shots. NEVER hesitate when you feel like you need to move; move confidently and with purpose. How do you shoot at compie player types (jump jet pulsing lighter mech pilots)? I am a pretty decent shooter but I have a hard time hitting good fast mech pilots.
When you think about it, how often are you shooting fast light mechs in comparison to shooting bigs? Probably not very often...Most of the playerbase plays bigger mechs, and the game rewards dmg farm, meaning you naturally going to be looking for big mechs to shoot. This leaves a lot of experienced quickplay players with a weakspot when it comes to hitting lights consistently. The way to practice is by playing comp yourself, or by doing lots of 1 v 1s with a decent sparring partner.

It might not have been he used his 360 degree motion to shoot me while running away, which means that his rear ct is still exposed. You just shoot the butt.
@@jpjango hmm maybe urbies just have a fat dumpy then. The shot seems to have hit lower CT.
Why do you have the MPL in the arms instead of side torsos?
More firepower in the arms to abuse actuators in more vertical combat. Higher mounts as well to get more laserburn off in hill peeks. Having them in the torsos is a bit safer though if your losing arms, doesn’t really happen to me in qp
kinda crazy that despite quirks , throwing 2 snubs on anything that can hold it will likely be better than any other loadout for most lights also love for javelin, the beaut skinny fecker that it is. I use the 11a a good bit with erml, never pushed over 1k but its a very hardy buddy in all situations when you dance
Snubs tend to inflate damage, not to mention this ones got giga cooldown quirks. Very good for farming. 11A is solid with mediums, just cant get as much farm, but with well placed aim, it can be very impactful.
@@jpjangothe burn time of the ML have wrecked me so many times, but user error likely. There have been so many times I felt "Feck, I wish I had snubs." Oddly enough when I was watching your osiris video and had the same thought, "oh snubs would be awesome here" despite the MPL quirks and build. Just tough to compare that snapshotting vs laser burns, especially when you're skirmishing in that manner
Dang that thing slaps. Angry little bugger. XD Very well done. I was concerned watching the first few minutes seeing the Shadow Cat sitting on top of a building in the open, and no one on your team seemed aware or interested/able to do anything about it. Maybe everyone else was range-limited as well? =P

Man I forgot ballistic ammo on an Atlas and went in front and center (or rather deadside first) on Sol city once, luckily had people with brains on my team. Pushed Marauder 2 into the wall and mrmed him into oblivion while my buddies cleared the heavys around him. Man, when this hapens, it's a bliss

If that wall sniper has any skill buffs for tracking he probably saw you moving back and forth. Should sit still for a few seconds before peaking out to let his target retention time out.
This is were good light piloting can throw a whole enemy team off for mech that shouldn't really be this much trouble for it tonnage.

This is the hero variant that rocks 2. In exchange you get MASC plus slots for mgs/hmgs which adds quite a bit of dps to the build. The build I'm using here is quite unique though where I sacrifice a lot of speed and the machine guns in order to fit a crazy amount of heatsinks so I can sustain fire.
Why am I not using this mech? Gonna fix that.

the last half of this video gave me legitimate anxiety lol. great stuff, though I can't help but feel bad for the nightstar, can't think of many builds which could be worse in that situation. The frustration is palpable

Well done. Tough match, but their Snek and Brios and others couldn’t prevail. Also nice to see a competent PPC Adder pilot. Not an easy map to play it on. All around a good watch.

Brutal. Looks incredibly fun and you play it well. On the build, why not throw one of the DHS from LT to RA ? If you lose the RA you lose most of the higher-heat weapons, so losing a DHS along with them wouldn't be too detrimental to what's left in the torsos and LA. DHS in RA could also crit-pad and might keep weapons around longer once armor is stripped? Thoughts? Also wondering about JJ from LT to CT, just so even as a complete zombie you can bobble about with the JJ and tank even longer? (And can lose LT and still keep more jumps). Just thoughts I had. Perhaps you already considered and think the build as you posted to be superior? If so just wondering why. =)

Mediums blocking heavies/assaults and giving the red team easy kills. Nothing is more MWO than that.

Osiris so funnn, normal mpl also seem great on the Sekhmet. Basically hitscan, so easy to leg lights in just a few hits.

Great video but noob question; How does this help with a game that does auto targeting?
There are only 2 types of weapons at the moment that lock onto the enemy. Most weapons that people use require aim, mostly tracking with lasers or leading your shots with projectile weapons.
Those are still really underrated mechs. WLF-1 doesn't look spectacular on paper, but the total package just works in the field.
That is a great demonstration of the new Osiris builds, thanks Jango. Any thoughts on how to equip a 2V? It seems to fall right in the middle between these two and 5 MXPL is pretty spicy.
Its got a hefty range quirk, so I like to run a simple 5 ermed on that one (maybe add 2 lmg to supplement dmg). Seems a bit underwhelming damage wise, but it is a very capable skirmisher that can play at really nice ranges.
