Hi mam hope you r fine, i got in 5th metatarsal bone base area(zone 1) But its not completely broken one chip is broken, its been 10 days in pop cast, I'm on painkillers, in starting pain killers were effective but now its paining, it feels like someone is grabbing my foot, can u tell me is this normal or its a sign of its not recovering??? Plz reply
@@saimasamar288 Hi dear I think everyone has different level of pain. To be honest when I fractured my feet it wasnt that painful for me and I neve had to take pain killers to get relief from pain. You have the cast on right I hope it gets better eventually. How long has your orthopaedic asked you to keep the cast on?
For 4 weeks but it has become so painful and so much numbness I had to get it removed today. Now they gave me boot.
@@saimasamar288 that is strange then did you get an x-ray done after removing your pop cast was there any callus formation any improvement after 4weeks
I broke mine fifth metatarsal (avulsion fracture), being in cast 5 weeks. Two weeks ago the cast removed, now still in two crutches and i walk in pain. Beside having pain when walking, did your feet swell? Can you share when you gradually walk with two crutches, single crutch and walk without crutch? Thanks for sharing
@@febriyani9000 I wasn't able to walk properly immediately after removing my cast and also had very bad pain in around my heels area which lasted for a month but after that I was completely fine I did not have any kind of swelling nor did I use crutches to walk after removing my cast. Yes I was limping but after a month it was okay

Hi! I've been in a non-weight-bearing cast for two weeks now after breaking my fifth metatarsal bone. My next ortho appointment is on May 21st. Do you think they will remove it then? It's very frustrating, especially since I'm living alone abroad and having trouble working effectively. Thank you.
I had to keep the cast for 4 weeks and even after removing the cast it was a struggle for another one month to get back to my normal walking. I understand it is frustrating even I had to go in that condition to work they did allow me more then 10 days leave from work. Don't worry it will be okay
@@jejevlogs04 thank you so much for replying . I just received an air cast boot after 4 weeks of non weight bearing and my heel hurts when I try to step. Did you experience the same heel pain when you started walking? I’m too scared to walk with a boot. 🥹
@@hannahveronica exactly the same thing happened even my heels use to hurt very bad it took me a month to get over that pain and start walking normal

How many days needed for completely recovery from Jones fracture?
I am not sure if my fracture healed completely because the last xray I had after I remove my cast it wasn't healed completely only callus has formed it took me month to walk properly afte removing the cast then I was fine so I didn't do anymore xray
