    How much space should there be around the anchoring point of the aerial straps? I don't understand if the space I have is sufficient, what radius should I have? thanks!

    • @theaerialistsguide
      @theaerialistsguide 12 дней назад

      Do you mean floor space below the straps? You should have a bit more than the farthest point of your straddle or split as to not hit anyone or anything. You should have enough to account for orbiting while spinning or the distance you travel while swinging.

      It would depend on prior experience and strength. This one took me a year to get, but I practiced it only a few times in that year and didn't know the tricks to make it work.

    Thank you so much for your wonderful videos! I had a question related to the coffin, actually. How are you ensuring that your feet don’t slip and your upper body slides downwards? This is something that doesn’t bother me when both my feet are on, but when I’m trying to hook my foot on the head-side of the sling, my pushing foot tends to slip more often than not. Thank you again for all your videos btw!! They are so good and informative 😊

    • @theaerialistsguide
      @theaerialistsguide 3 месяца назад

      So glad you are finding the videos helpful! This “coffin” move doesn’t require hooking a food on the head side of the sling. Is it a different move you are talking about? Sometimes there’s a bit of slippage in this move but keeping lots of tension in your body really helps. Only release your hands once your body is nice and stiff and legs are straight. If you’re slipping maybe due to dry feet or sweaty feet, you can add some rosin to the bottoms or wipe them off with a towel :) if you still need more help, feel free to send me a message or video on instagram

      @Mangocoffee32 3 месяца назад

      @@theaerialistsguide hello and thank you so much for replying! really appreciate you taking the time out! :) Also yes apologies, I wasn't referring to the coffin move exactly, my bad. It is a different move, yes, but I don't know the name and this was the closest video of yours. Just want to hook my leg (kinda like Running Man) and bend it. I found out in subsequent classes that the issue was that my toes weren't pointing outwards enough and as I raised my legto hook on the other side of the hammock, due to my inflexbility, my foot would tend to slip off. I'm working on it, and your tutorials are so helpful! Thank you! :)

    • @theaerialistsguide

    These are great tips that I wish I'd heard in my early days. I would like to add being sure to hydrate! I have found that when I'm drinking too much coffee or tea and not enough water, I'm way more likely to bruise, feel pinched in wraps, or dizziness from spinning and inversions.

    I'd love a breakdown of the optimal pullover. I'm watching the first few seconds of the video over and over to watch what you are doing, I'd love it narrated. It looks like you are grabbing at shoulder height, doing a bit of a pullup to get to a tuck, then leaning back and bending at the elbows whole holding the tuck at 90 degrees until you are over, and then it becomes more shoulder movement and inertia. What else am I missing?

    • @theaerialistsguide
      @theaerialistsguide 8 месяцев назад

      Hey there! Yeah, you got it! I do have a video you can check out breaking down "the optimal pullover" here 😊: ruclips.net/video/ZpNbjHzh0gY/видео.htmlsi=Hw6RhaJEkJamL8yS The big key is that kind of upside down pull up. Nobody really explained that part to me back in tumbling class and it took me forever to get a pullover. But I realized later it was just that I needed to make sure my hips were above the bar (or hammock in this case) before you can start tilting back. You can also do it with some momentum swinging your legs up into that pike or tuck position while simultaneously doing the pull up and tilt back. I hope this helps!
