    Title says DC18RD, but the video clearly shows that it is a DC18RC at 0:23 and 3:57. The DC18RD is a dual-battery charger, while the DC18RC is a single battery model.

    Hi, i could hardly see the display when you checked the fuse. But if it is good it should have changed from OL right? Regards

    Thank you for your video. A few days ago my mate gave me his broken Makita 18v charger to have a look at. I’d already pulled the big input filter cap and found it to be in tolerance. I’d checked all the fuses diodes fets and caps for shorts and was scratching my head having found no faults. I saw your video, pulled his board out of the cupboard thinking I don’t remember seeing one of those resistors. I thought I’d checked the likely suspects (big components not secured well) but nooo. There it was, loose just like you showed 🤦‍♂️ I’ll solder it up in the morning and hopefully it’ll be sorted. I gave him my Makita 18v charger and my drills just gone flat so I kinda need it now 😂 LEGEND, thank you again !!

    I'm sorry, but this doesn't make sense to me. How can you calculate a voltage value when you don't have a value for either the current or resistsnce?

    I would recommend everyone to discharge the 400V electrolytic capacitor first. It's uncomfortable when you empty it with your fingers, and it can damage other sensitive, low-voltage electronics. Many thanks for the video and greetings from Switzerland.

    When my kit arrives I'm going to make a change I've seen suggested and replace the 5.1K resistors R3 and R5 with 1K resistors. I'm also going to cut the trace between R3 and R2 and, cut the trace between the center leg of R2 and the leg opposite of the leg with the trace from R3 then run a jumper to the leg that was originally connected to the center leg of R2. A solder bridge between the leg originally connected to R3 and the center leg should then reverse the operation of the amplitude control.

      I will also try to make those changes when my new kit arrives as well. I'll try without those changes to see if everything works fine, and then I'll make those changes to see if it improves. Thanks for the sugestion!

    Weird. I bought 2 of them before a while and they are working fine. Triangle or square works also. Left is amp/duty cycle, then fine tuning, then fast tuning. Maybe you already damaged the chip? Because there is not much else, what could cause errors.

    ¿Un procesador para ese caso tan trivial? Con un Op-amp de $10Mx es más que suficiente. Una decepción de ejemplo.
