David Bowie had a Jeremy Brett speaking voice. Or was it the other way around. Bowie and Brett should have impersonated one another. It would have been a wonderful listen too.
That moment when you realise that the guy who engineered one of your favourite songs of all time (Absolute Beginners) also mixed one of your favourite albums of all time (Wish) - fantastic work!
What a coincidence! Although I'm not sure I actually got an engineering credit for AB. I was transitioning between assistant engineer to engineer during the recording of the AB soundtrack so some tracks I got an engineer credit and some I didn't. Great song though ain't it!

Hi listened to this a few times before over the years but today I was playing Bowies track born in a u.f.o. (on the extra disc with the next day box set) and realised its david putting on the same Springsteen voice from this tape.as you have said this was done in the 80,s how so like david to carry that memory with him till 2013 when this track was released. God I miss the chance of him making more music.
