Vacheron was nobody. Bless your heart
Talented writer .. his style really stood out when I first started reading wheels back in 1988.. surprised there isnt more from him on youtube
Who considers one or the other? I mean who considers a porsche or a vw?
Where can I get the Audemars Pigeon, you have been mentioning? 🐦
VC is better as a brand, but for these two objects... the skydweller walks away with it. That second pusher just looks cancerous.
Yep. Still a clown
I don’t like the Mercedes hands tbh. I’ll be buying the Tudor BB58 GMT next month.
Im mildly offended by this comparison. A Rolex is no where close to the pedigree, quality and artisan craftsmanship of a vacheron.
Very few individuals who are watch enthusiasts cross shop VC with Rolex. VC, like the majority of timepieces from any of the trilogy, are all or partly hand finished. Rolex (movements) are far more robust and sit alone in a space uniquely theirs. One can argue VC is superior because it’s hand made but comparing these two brands misses the mark. They are both benchmarks for what they offer. I’ll argue the Rolex will retain its value better but this does not indicate it’s superior. It’s all about demand…
Tudor all day. I prefer being low key and not be pretentious because I wear an expensive watch. There is all this negative connotation about Rolex being a "status symbol" which makes me barf. It's like you accomplished something because you wear a Rolex vibe. On the other hand, Tudor is recognised mainly by watch enthusiasts and has this subdued class to it that I love. The Rolex, especially the latest ceramic version, is too blingy for me.
Personally, I’d pass the two door for a four door. Much more convenient for a family. I bought a Chewdor 41 burgundy watch.
I’m getting a Tudor
I think Rolex is better off in yjis aspect....but i wanna have a VC...'coz i have 2 Skydwellers ...green and blue dial in everose and white gold...
I wear my Seiko samurai diver and I also wear a Garmin decent G1 dive computer while diving. I find that a dive watch is just simple to look at a glance and undistracting.
As nice a piece as the Rolex Sky Dweller is - probably one of their BEST pieces, there is NO comparison, NONE WHATSOEVER, to a VC. VC is haute horology on so many different levels over Rolex - FACT.
These dismissive watch nerds act as though Hublot cares about their poor asses. Made doubly ridiculous when the dude smirking is wearing clothes and a hair bun from the 90s.
I just bought a silver dial dual time VC. This watch is truly amazing. I have a Rolex too but the quality is by far not the same.
This guy is talking nonsense!
My friends has a Hublot bigbang in gold , people always comment on it . 😅
Jesus Christ. Your analysis is stupid.
It is ridiculous that you justify hate on a company because they charge what the market will bear as evidenced by the fact that Hublot is the 12th biggest seller of the Swiss watchmakers.
Tudor is obviously less expensive, but tudor is easy to buh, rolex is impossible to buy in rolex store and cost 12000$ in grey market, and because human beeing always want what he cant, people want this rolex, because the brand is an aspirational brand,a must have for being part of vip class people, reason why customer want this watch, for being part of the suposed superior category ...vanity,vanity
It WAS the case ..... your 'investment' and grey market story.....careful of that Sir. You are misleading people. I own both in various models and you are wrong. You may think your submariner is worth so much........but you will Lose money when you sell it. Or best you will break even. Nice video all the same. Good photos and honest about your reasons (other than the 'great investment')....thank you. Enjoyed it. Enjoy your watches.
it would be a perfect looking watch if they got rid of the massive square on the minute hand.
Prefer the Sub but hate how you have to kiss some ones A to get one or buy a watch you don’t want to get one.
the coffee comparison doesnt feel right, the coffee's are as much the same as casio and a rolex they both tell the time but are not the same tudor is a lot more the same as a rolex then any other watch brand
I love the vc, but design wise, I think the am/pm indicator would have looked better flipped, so the am/pm text was near the minute track rather than the center of the watch. If I’m being ocd, a power reserve indicator of the same arc size as the am/pm indicator on the right side would balance out the dial nicely.
not the same league VC is much better. VC is haute horlogerie. Rolex is far away from that. Where are the Rolex perpetual calendar where are the Rolex tourbillon ?
"Pih-GAY." It's a hard G in Piguet, not "Pih-jay."
Rolex SD = modern mid engined Ferrari VC = TVR
Not the best review.. you missed the case thicknesses and weights. Wearability and comfort of each comparison. Too much focus on the status. Every man and his dog has a sub so it’s not a big deal really.
Love the coffee analogy! Also, I love a good espresso 😎
fast forward to 2024, Overseas Dual Time in black or silver dial, you can buy walking in. Sky Dweller? Still the imaginary waiting list
Imaginary. Key word
Get a Rolex if you want to get robbed.
I had my apple watch, and it just became a device to prompt me to look at my phone. Screen too small to be productive or a true phone replacement. However, I cannot be critical of its health tracking and apps, which are great. I found myself still carrying my phone all the time, despite having a Sim card watch version. But mostly, I didn't like the fact I didn't have a relationship with my watch. So I'm back with my Sub14060m and loving watches. I don't miss the computer on my wrist at all, cool as it is.
Two door
Who is the presenter in this video?
I think the ending put it succinctly. Analogue/digital watches as jewelry and a smart watch for utility
This was so much fun F1& Jody! Great job guys. I feel sorry for Carlos the way he has been treated since the Hamilton announcement. Jody you better make a racing watch one of these days. box, box box. Lets Go!
Its not even worth the retail price? Isn't it all cheap plastic?
It's actually pretty decent finishing for a watch in this price-bracket and as an exercise in volume production of an automatic movement, Sistem51 is impressive. My main gripe with them is that the movement isn't designed to be serviceable in any way which makes them completely throwaway. They're hoping that by the same the SwatchX watch has died, you'll be rich enough and loyal enough to go and buy an Omega/Blancpain.
This should get more views fr😢
I hope Jody gives you guys some more views. I loved your original videos where you showed the watches in use. I'm sure they cost a lot, the production value was really high. Keep at it!
You pop up everywhere sir! 🤪🤪
Great video and really fun to see Jody here :)
Well, first thing I strongly recommend to anyone, is to not get under pressure from anyone, let alone some youtubers, to make their purchase choices. So called watch community, whatever that means, developed a nasty way of judging people by what they put on their wrists - they would criticize Hublot or similar brands for lack of mechanical innovation, lack of quality or no in-house movements, but at the same time they praise Rolex, who has not been innovating for a loooong time, produces mostly boring watches, of quality far worse then i.e. Grand Seiko - who guys like Nico do not even pay much attention to (as he pays attention to re-sale value, nothing else). I am tempted to buy Hublot just to show my middle finger to all those watch snobs. Look at those ugly pieces Richard Mille does - they are as ostentatious as Hublot, they are made for people with zero taste (seriously, check who actually wears them, certainly noone you would accuse of having some class....), but are even more expensive, yet Nicos of the world love'em.
The sky dweller dial is not symmetrical
Stop calling it Two door!
Do divers really tell you that?? Also Omega has definitely thought of doing that - and they did!! It’s called the ProPlof. 🤡
Good review, but the sky dweller is not the thickest of Rolex’s watches. My Sea Dweller Deepsea is 3mm thicker at 17.7mm… and then there is the new titanium Deepsea challenge at 23mm…
lol exactly how I love my watches
