Thanks for the video. I enjoyed the political dimensions you analyze. These films are very important. However, the misogynistic nature of Leone’s films is a little jarring for me. I grew up with these films and love almost every other aspect of them. Sure, you could argue the times for which the films portray were inherently misogynistic, but what I struggle with is the lack of scrutiny or acknowledgment of such behavior. On the contrary, the characters seem to indulge and are apparently supposed to be likable because of and not despite it.

A fantastic video. A great disection of the greatest western director of all time. I also like how you do touch on the fact that a movie kinda has to be fun and not just explicitly push its messaging.

A great video bro! Children in particular can absolutely be a product of their environment. I think the fact that films and information is so readily available in this day in age can be a great catalyst for change as these children growing up can realise that there is more to the world than what they have been led to believe by the communities and environments they grow up in. As adults we all have a duty to be well educated and seek a wider view on many sensitive topics like racism. Films can help us to make sense of these topics and it’s great to see so many more being made to shed light on the complexities of the wider issue.

Nah, racism is based. Nobody is racist because of the color difference. It’s cultural and political. If African Americans collectively and racially bargain/lobby with society and government for better terms then that’s a form of in group favoritism. When white people do it then all of a sudden the buzzwords and straw-men come out.

Fantastic Vid! The transitions between your in-person commentary and the film essay segments add such a personal touch and really draw the viewer in It's clear how much time and effort you've put into the editing process, and it's inspiring to see your dedication and progress. Your unique editing style keeps getting better with each video Kudos for addressing sensitive topics like the cultivation of hatred in films and pop culture. The examples you used, especially from 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas' and Megan's story, shed light on the disconnect between extreme belief systems the individuals everyday reality.

Hate is a biological function, it's used to recognize danger or things that could hurt / be bad for you. Or it's just love unrequited. Either way, "hate" is very much subjective and I think the people trying to "fix" the way another person thinks is what's messed up. Kinda self-righteous, too.

Easy Rider and other 60s Hollywood movies were leftist propaganda, Spaghetti Westerns were made to be just as entertaining to the audience as possible on a cheap budget, which was and will be infinitely better than any biggest budget propaganda movie. All hail Spaghetti Westerns! 🤠

Laaaaaame not enough hot chicks. Haha nah Fred seemed like a cool dude. What I like about his films is that while yeah not losing a fight, getting the girl and being a badass is to inflate the ego but he inspired others to be the hero. I mean he basically looked like a Black James Bond. You don't need to change the race of an iconic character just make a character like Bolt. But man really great edited video. And pretty much binged all your videos just now. Can't wait to see your future videos and see what else you make
