Day in the Life of a Tattoo Apprentice
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
Instagram: @miggon A typical day as an artist ^^ It's my 3rd month at the studio and my mentor is pretty chill about what I do in the studio as long as I'm being productive, which is really cool, and since each artist takes care of their own space I have a lot of time to create pieces, so I do try to use that time wisely ;D First attempt at making an art/studio vlog so let me know what you thin...

My Tattoo Apprenticeship Portfolio 2023
Просмотров 118 тыс.2 года назад
A tour through the portfolio that I've been building up since university ;) Some notes: I mentioned apprenticeship in Portugal are reaaalllyy rare, but after visiting a few more I am realising they are not that rare. You just really need to show your will to learn and insist with whoever you want to mentor you! So my tips very summarised: -Have a cool portfolio (obviously); -Visit the studio IN...
Warum hat jeder Skate RUclipsr ne Schnalle die ihn den ganzen Tag zuguckt? Ich will auch ne Schnalle die mir den ganzen Tag beim Abspacken zuguckt!
This is my fav skatepark I’ve ever skated in.
so good !
Thank you! 🙌
I always point new skaters to the product "Shoe Goo". It's a rubber spread you can use to cover the Ollie and kickflip holes in your shoes! Makes them last much longer. Stay up and keep skating brother!
Upvoted! Had no idea! 🙌
Triggered by the title, lol. Skateboarding definitely isn’t something you can master in a week, and that’s not even the point of it. The point, as you show in the video, is the awesome feeling of landing something that is a genuinely hard struggle to achieve. That said, it’s cool you worked hard at it, and you definitely got far in a week! One tip: you are trying to do a front shuv here, which is way harder then a backside (normal) shuv. I bet you could get a backside shuv in a day or two more (and maybe you have by now.) Keep going! 🤘
From a few ideias It sounded like the best title, i get your frustration though ahahah I haven’t managed the shuv it, so I’ll definitely try it , thanks for the tip! 👀
@ it’s all good! The title did make me curious enough to watch, after all. Best of luck with it! Skateboarding is definitely one of the hardest but most rewarding things I’ve ever been into.
awsome 7 days can do alot! (also what board deck and wheels do you have?)
Thank you! Its all Speed Demons, really old though, It used to belong to my brother 10+ years ago 😅
amazing dude! the truck lock on is really called a rock to fakie & the 50-50 is an axel stall. absolutely amazing progress!
Thank you! And woops, thanks for letting me know 🫢😂
where is that skatepark, looks awesoke
Monsanto Skatepark, in Lisbon!
amazing what 7 days can do! can't wait to see you learning how to play the guitar!
Soon soon! 🤣
Só cool!! 🎉
Nah, that guy whom I went bouldering with is cooler 😜
absolutely love the dragon man !
Do you submit printed images or the originals?
Prints! Why risk ruining the originals by carrying them around? Prints are they way, all day ;)
i think you have a great start in art as a background skill to carry on tattooing i think not all studios understand as a artist life has many pathways not just thru a apprenticeship at a shop i agree on trying because without failure we will not find another way around the problem just get those lines perfect bro & good luck 🎨🖌️🔥💐
Did you have any issues transferring from regular art to tattoo’s? I find I make stuff too detailed and need to retrain my brain from super detailed illustrations and paintings.
Definitely! Now I think a lot more about the placement and real size of the tattoo to constantly check if I could actually do it on skin 😤
So would you print out your digital work and put it right into the portfolio?
Pretty much! Only a few of the finals are hand drawn on paper, but everything with color ended up going to the iPad to get cleaned up and printed out ;)
@@Miggon_ thank you so much that was more helpful then you know haha. Appreciate ya !
this looks so clean!!! love it
Thank you!!
Is some of this digital art? The symmetry and smoothness of the color is something I’m struggling with achieving with the water color
Sorry for the late reply, but yes! Some of it is digital 😁
This is the level of artistry that’ll get you an apprenticeship EASY, if you cannot match this quality, focus on your drawing, don’t worry about tattooing yet
Need tattoos bro
Your artwork is incredible dude wow! Youve got this!
Boas Miguel, planos para um novo vídeo?? Gostava de ver como vai a evolução, abraço
what tools did you use your colours are insane!
he didn't draw most of these guys, it's on the ipad. it's on procreate which is like cheating for drawing you can make anything perfect so don't be discouraged Still cool creations though and a fabulously beautiful portfolio
🎀
ik this is an old video but anyone afraid of the hygiene aspect could take a health and saftey course around piercing and tattooing and try to keep things as hygienic as possible especially if you have a spare room in your house
The zoom ins are really annoying. Regardless, amazing artwork!
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT PAPER IS THAT? With the borders
They are drawn and printed on the paper! 🙌
@@Miggon_ soooo you physically draw the borders ?!!! MAN YOU GOTTA MAKE A VIDEO OF IT
Very good work, amazing talent !
What size is the portfolio? I love your style 🎉
Have you taken her advice and continued tattooing? 😮
Did you study concept art at teesside university? i think I recognised it from some of the drawings. Also super insightful to see someones journey love the work!
these are good but this is a design portfolio, not a tattoo portfolio
Im an apprentice and i have also been inthe industry for years and just knowing what iknow I WOULD NEVER TATTOO onna person without knowing what im doing, especially not while theres somuch great practice skins2work with..... The damage and trauma youcan cause skin is way2 much for me2 fukaroundwith n find out. As an apprentice you really should ONLY TATTOO human flesh under supervision of a professional. ....for very literally EVERYREASON.
When setting this portfolio up, did you draw each design together on the page or did you scan your original drawings then organize them on sheets?
I organized everything digitally and then printed it out, hope this helps! 🙌
Nice!! Love the thumbnail
Ikr! Had some help from a masterful designer 🌝
Tu é brasileiro/português? Seus desenhos são muito bons, parabéns.
Sou português sim, e obrigado! ;D
Awesome progress, thanks for sharing!
And thank you for watching! Ahah but I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😁
For a second i thought you drew them all on paper by yiur hand, jesus. Still amazing.
So these are digital or pen ?
All digital and printed out ;)
Thank you for making this video! I appreciate all of the things you explained and you really are a fast learner when you showed us the difference between the different parts you shaded on the snake. That's awesome. One thing I feel that no one talks about though is how to sustain a living while getting an apprenticeship. How could I go to the shop every day unpaid, while working another job to be able to feed myself and pay for rent? Or would they accommodate it? It just overwhelms me thinking about it and I get demotivated. :/
Question, are the ink looking pieces, are they done traditionally or was the linework done digitally?
Looks great, what a lovely process
How do you print out your art from your iPad? It’s so good!! I’m rebuilding my portfolio and it’s so inspiring and motivating to see other people’s awesome portfolios ❤
Your art is amazing 😻 what do you use for art supplies? Like the black ink and colors? Or is everything printed out on a computer and printer?
What tattoo gun was that?
Cheyenne thunder 🙌
What do you use to get such a clean line when drawing ?😊
Absolutely beautiful work. No doubt you have it as a tattoo artist. May I ask what markers did you use for the colouring?
That dragon was breathtaking!
always good to stumble across a mano
hiii, i love your work, do you have an ig acc?
Thank you! I do, it's @miggon__
