Great Explanation. Thank you.
Thank you! Let me know if I can help.
very informative - I had books I tabbed and highlighted myself with a course that outlined topics to T/HL. That was helpful to gain an understanding of where concepts were located by book / within a particular book. I agree that the tabs can be inefficient at times - I did use the index often. But they were helpful with certain information to access the section quickly. Personal preference. I passed the Business Finance portion, I found it fairly simple with having studied and reviewed the material... The most helpful thing I found was to go through all the questions first and identify which ones I knew, which I did not, and which were questionable, note what book they were likely in; I listed all that on the dry erase sheet provided in testing. That way I could gain insight to what was being tested and answer all the questions that I knew first so I could go back and focus on more challenging questions later once I whittled down the majority of questions. That way I was able to avoid the 25 minute trap questions that were hidden, like you mentioned. That can be a real time suck! My question is whether there are many math questions on the Project Management / Contract Admin. sections, and whether any math formulas are in the books for takeoffs... I have many formulas in another book that I know I cannot bring into testing... Are you aware of any formulas for takeoff purposes being listed in any of the exam books? Such as for circumference, area, etc? Hoping to breeze through the last two exams and get licensed :D
What is the cost of course and materials total

Do you need general liability insurance? I work for a construction company and I just plan on getting my certified General contractors license for personal reasons rather than going out there and building using my license. if so, how much would this cost?
Hey Daniel. Thanks for reaching out. Here's the rules: To become a state certified contractor in Florida, you must: • Obtain a passing score on all parts of the Florida State Construction examination. • Be at least 18 years of age. • Meet the educational/experience requirements. • Be of good moral character. • Pay all applicable fees. • Obtain worker’s compensation coverage. • Demonstrate financial responsibility. That's from the exam registration form. That's what you need!
Nice try....

Now, if you want to be a licensed contractor in Florida, I can help you directly!
Thank you so much
Thank you so much
Don't need to take a test in Indiana!!!!!!!
How can I purchase the FL statues from you?
Math isn't taught anywhere. And all three tests have math. The P.M and C.A. both had around 12 math questions per exam. You can only miss 15 questions tops. So you basically have to get EVERY OTHER QUESTION correct to pass. Need help to pass the math any suggestions??
GREAT VIDEO!!!! When comes to this exam 60% of the Questions will come out of the Contractors Manual then the remaining questions will be from the BGA and AIA Documents . There are a total of 25 to 28 math questions. So do not see this exam as a math only exam. Remember you can afford to get 36 questions wrong in this exam and still pass with a 70%. In order to pass this exam you need (3) three things. .#1 Get to know these books in and out, learn how to navigate the books. Is not about memorizing questions, is all about finding the correct answer. #2. Time is key: you are limited on time. do not spend too much time on one question remember each question i s worth the same amount of points and 5 out of the 125 are not graded and they are given to you as pilot questions. #3 Comprehension. You need to read the question carefully and understand what they are asking you, then you need to think where can i find this answer. This is how you pass this Exam.
Thanks for the feedback! We're aligned on how these tests work. Can you tell me more about the math questions? I'm a retired high school math teacher, so I didn't really notice the math questions. Are they about manipulating percent proportions? I'm trying to figure out how to help people do those few important math questions, but don't really remember the categories!

I love how genuine you are. Thank you for taking the time to prep us for this exam.

Great hair.
Thanks! I no longer have to comply with corporate America's expectations!
I was trying to put together what this looks like based on some web course I got, and I was getting some major tunnel vision just trying to think through what the frick I'm supposed to even be learning, and this really helped me frame my understanding of how I need to go about practicing. Thank you.
Did you pass? any advice ?
Hey this video is way too long. My apologies. I'm not a video editor, but I can teach my face off.
Honestly, as an avid RUclips watcher, this was perfect. As a business consultant, long format is what people are leaning towards content-wise. As someone taking their construction Business and Finance exam in 2 days, this was super insightful. Thank you!

Wanting to Reciprocity my Michigan Builders license to florida,,I have had license for 20 years and is active,,,can you help .?????
Bad news! Florida CILB (construction industry licensing board) has reciprocal licensing agreements with Louisiana, North Carolina, and Mississippi. Only. Here's the link: www.myfloridalicense.com/CheckListDetail.asp?SID=&xactCode=1029&clientCode=0605&XACT_DEFN_ID=18814 I can help you with getting your Florida license, though. It's a pain, but not tremendously difficult. Need your finances to be reasonable, as well as your criminal record. You need four years of documented experience in the construction industry. You need insurance. You need to pass three really long open book tests. You don't need to know much to pass the tests, you just need to have the books, be generally familiar with the topics covered in in each book, and to have a good plan for using them during the professionally proctored tests. The tests are 4.5 hours each for the project management and contract administration tests, and 6.5 hours for the Business and Finance test. I can help you with all the testing stuff.
Thank you so much!
Need help with the math problems involved in Principles and Practices book like rimpull resistance.
Are you working toward being a licensed general contractor in the state of Florida? If you are, you won't have any math problems in the Principles and Practices book. None! Handy book to have if you run into that specific problem in your future contracting career. Not gonna help you on these three tests. Let me know if you still need help with rimpull resistance for some other application - I'll figure it out and help you with it.
@stonemathman I just took both P.M. & C.A. last week. Both exams had around 12 math questions. Nobody teaches the math. I failed both tests by a few questions. Frustrating because I had to pretty much GUESS on the math. Ridiculous! I passed B&F
fuggetabout it - if you get this, email me please at licensetopass@gmail.com. I've developed some math modules for these tests, and am close to posting them on my website - licensetopass.com. I can get some of these to you sooner if the timing is still right.
