Hello I'm a whitebeard Deep Rock Galactic player, IGN Darth Syphilis, I post videos of advanced difficulties and gameplay with a variety of builds and team compositions. My goal is to introduce modded difficulties with a large build variety, showing how much fun and potential the game has.
This channel is accessible to new players and greybeards, I improved my gameplay by learning from the best and watching how other people play, hopefully I can share that with other people now.

Hey look that's me! I immediately regretted rj250 after equipping it. Wasn't aware that it would get through my shield on this difficulty (I'm used to just more enemies 5+). The cave was also much easier to get around than the last one. I even managed to down myself with it during the first swarm, just after you used iw.
i personnally tend to go with 32111 for the sludge pump DC, is throwing a lot of sludge in short amount of time better than having more and bigger ones?
Finally it happened
I actually use a similar loadout like that, but I use tier 5A on the EPC so I can light the sludge puddles on fire. That, combined with the Persistent Plasma effect makes for some decent AoE DoT, even on high value targets. You ever do that?
toughness or anything that makes enemies tankier is just the most cheap and unfun way of making enemies difficult, all the others are fine to me. never taking that one
This is a weird question, but do you ever plan on making a video on team build, I find it frustrating when I'm playing with some friends, and I find myself with a fire Gunner build, and our Driller is using Cryo Cannon. Another thing is, do you plan on making a discord where people can do said team building, and play together with and without modded difficulty?
I'd suggest the Practical DRG discord. Active, modded and vanilla play, build guides, and much more.
That stalker... The most unbalanced enemy on the game. Disruptive enemy, but in normal haz 5 takes 70 to 90% of your health in one attack. Dreadnought? Nah, stalker is stronger than a dreadnought apparently. Stalker is fast, so besides having to spot it, you have to follow it and be far from corners, good? You are not, you see the stalker, shoot it, it doesn't stop, 1 attack you, and now you're 1 hit to die to most enemies besides grunts. I wonder what went to the mind of the developers to make an enemy immune to stun, fast, invisible (even the sound the stalker do doesn't mean it will attack you, and contrary to mactera grabber, sometimes it attack you without even making a sound), and you can't stop it from attacking you sometimes even though you spotted it and shoot it.
Without even adding that you have a window between 1 to 3, 4 seconds to do dmg to a stalker before it hides again, so in games like those where the enemies are pretty tanky, the stalker is the most unfair enemy. I also forgot to add that in a normal game stalker is also pretty tanky regardless.
Yeah I'd have to agree, it's awfully designed. The developers did not test it with these difficulties, just on lower hazards. We already had a stalker in the modded scene they could have copied. A lot of modded difficulties make it fearable/ stunnable
In my opinion, it feels too bulky for being a "surprise" attacker with huge damage. Even when you catch the bastard, it feels like you can't even do more than 75% before it digs away. Menaces are fine because you can at least stun them, but these bastards can't get stunned
Will you do modded double warnings (i.e. double lethal enemies)? Warning stacking can be pain

With these it's just a lot fewer enemies that are very deadly. Especially swarmers that chunk 1/3 of your health

Just curious, what makes Gamma Contamination good in this build with Crystal Nucleation?
It's the combination of boiler ray with the damage over time gamma lets you deal. Overall it's very good crowd clear with the nades and primary. Gamma I just prefer for ranged damage and just more damage over time without focusing too much
My ammo economy was in complete shambles 😆 It was good fun though, I quite enjoyed that one

That was boiler ray setting off and killing a bunch of enemies that were all already quite low health. It's great trash clear
my friend, I’m from Russia and I really like to play on high difficulties, I played on 8x2 and even 15x1.7 but I can’t solo, and I don’t have a team of good players, we found this hazard in discord, could you tell me where to get such difficulties how are you? where are they from, I would really like to play, I constantly test my builds, and also explain why gamma? what is she doing?
There's a discord with the difficulties www.reddit.com/r/technicaldrg/comments/w5hxgs/practical_drg_discord/ The boiler ray with gamma is just very strong crowd clear. Gamma is useful for ranged damage and more damage over time.

5:10 I did the exact same thing on a point extraction today, except I fell into a hole with a scale bramble and a BET-C. Hilarious in retrospect but the most frustrating silly mistake ever at the time lmao

Great video man, but I got 2 questions. 1. How did you get your drills drill perfectly smooth instead of shaking in the base game 2. Why use Neurotoxins, aren't axes better comboed with ice?
1. No Shake mod 2. Axes are very good for beeing self-sustaining type of driller to play in the random not/low modded lobbies. When there is too much shit and with put together team comp, neurotoxins provide much-much more value per throw.
I don't use any mods for the view shake, just have the camera shake at 25% and view bob at 50% in settings. In a team comp like this the wave clear from neurotoxin is much better, as long as you're paired with gunner they should be clearing the large stuff you would usually use axes for.
"FC" is the name of the difficulty. It is the hardest modded difficulty played seriously in the west. Much harder than ND, with shorter wave intervals and more enemy diversity. Typically this difficulty is ran with a fire or sludge/ fire team comp, so its unique to see runs with cryo comps. Crystal nucleation and gamma contamination are meta picks for driller in this comp. A lot of my deaths are silly rather than issues with the build comp or pacing. Neuro toxin grenades are also a very good source of wave clear. There's definitely an issue with too many gas and cyro particles slowing my PC down and blocking vision that also led to some deaths.

is electricutting shots reliable or hipster and Active stability is better ?
I got inspired by this vid and tried to use NTC coilgun Sadly it really isn't reliable for me, by the time I can ignite it with the minigun they enemy is already nearly dead and dies to the fire dot before I can pop the coilgun off And using it with the hurricane is dangerous since you give up the stun, also redundant since the hurricane already has good cc How would you go about reliably using NTC? I imagine it's much more simple with a organized team
You should try it with the burning hell minigun oc if they are dying too quick with venting. Ideally there's a flame driller so stuff can be ignited by others. It's helpful to pick something a little tanky like a guard that's on fire to shoot, grunts tend to die too quickly and prets have too much health. Note you do get a +30% dmg boost with coil ntc if the bug is already on fire

All unstables for Zhukov are nice, it's just overshadowed by other 2ndaries (provide a better value even without OC)
every one of the builds you run on this channel look like they were made from randoweisser, and yet you consistently do so well with them. i have so much to learn and i have no idea where to start
i think a lot of it is just that i tend to build loadouts that minimize my class's weakness's, rather than maximizing its strengths, because i play with randoms and don't trust them to play their class roles and actually protect me from the grunts because a lot of the time they don't (and also i'm a gunner main so i don't know how to aim so the m1000 scares me, gk my beloved)
i personally rock the embedded detonators for the zhuk all the time (since i dont have special powder), its just really good for dealing damage to big enemies and for grunts. it just seems like the superior overclock for the zhukovs and having the speed boost everytime you reload + the already fast reload is just a chefs kiss
I don't understand, why use all the weapon damage upgrades? Isn't the point of this OC to finish killing enemies with electricity and thus have more ammo? It's a genuine doubt, I'm curious to know.
How do u configure the X and Y for the BFV kill icons? I turn the Y too far low, and they go up, I turn them up and they go way up. Could say what values u use? XD

Have you ever used Shield Battery Booster on the DRAK? I know people generally don't like it and for maybe good reasons, but the boost you get if you manage to stay away from bugs and their projectiles (and teammates too I guess) is pretty damn good
He's used it, I like it too, it's surprisingly generous with the shield regeneration buff despite its downsides, but I'm never able to pry my hands off of Thermal Exhaust Feedback.
To me Gas Recycling is quite underrated, because of the armour breaking rather than the extra damage. Stuff like brundles, shellbacks, and stingtails, can be real weaknesses within team comps. This run felt very principled for a scout in teams, between getting nitra, pushing rooms, supporting the team in swarms, and clearing high value targets. It's a good watch if you're looking to improve as scout. With the elec bonus I feel Gas Recycling is up there with the other great zhuk overclocks.
That's Zhukovs to me, it's honestly pretty mediocre at base the Unstables are the only Overclocks worth mentioning because of how they all drastically change the weapon for the better.
Why 30fps?
Modded DRG isn't well optimised for mid range pc builds. You'd need something really beefy to run these modded runs and record in 60fps without lag issues. It's really common for me to get between 30-40fps and I found when I was recording with 60 it made the recording much less smooth than 30. I'll record with 60 once I have a pc that can handle it though!
@DarthSyphilis I really think it's critical. Imagine that it's like playing in 30 fps. I got seasick. Try the software from your graphics card for recording: AMD Adrenaline or GeForce Experience. It usually record with minimal impact.
NTC may not be the most efficient choice in T5 but it sure is the most satisfying one to use
As an engi main something that's def holding me back is my platform preparation. I go too slow and make the platforms look too linear, this kind of speed and consistency is inspiring >:D

How do you tirgger the big explosion with the coil gun? Gunner is my least used one and im only lvl 100 so I havent played him much. Is it a certain upgrade or is it triggered when an enemy meets certain conditions (i.e. has to have fire status effect). I've had the explosion trigger a few times but not on command, only accident.
The tier 5 a mod on the coilgun causes an explosion when you kill the bug while it's on fire. It's not as good in lower hazards, but if you can reliably set fire to stuff and get the kill explosion it's very satisfying
I love when they let the driller speak at the beginning to say "WE FIGHT FOR ROCK AND STONE".
It's amusing base Hurricane is so strong besides Minelayer and Cluster Charges, its two Cleans are still some of the strongest Overclocks for AoE
It's true. Hurricane is a very strong base gun, several of the overclocks are considered overpowered or very strong. I especially find plasma burster missiles great for gunners role in general. Same for jet fuel homebrew. The only downside is a lot of hurricane builds aren't as good at range with the projectile travel time.
Max AoE for the Missile Launcher looks pretty effective on those Mactera, but why just 3-burst with Lead Spray? It's still not even reliable at range nor will it make for maximum damage in a single burst that way.
For the most part I'm just trying different things. But I find the stun to be more helpful usually, it's a very strong effect. Also the recoil on 6 round is just insane, and maybe wastes some ammo
@DarthSyphilis You can always try Composite Casings. That's what I use. Even then you can still utilize the Stun effect.
