that right side flex cable doesn't carry 5v for the camera, only backlight output voltage, GND and six feedback lines. All the camera data and voltages are carried in the thin flex on the other (left) side

Love your attitude! Great words of wisdom on the end there about not making it hard on yourself or other techs that have to deal with it again down the road! I've been blessed by other techs with a half a pound of glue on batteries and screens, so that's always on my mind when i'm sealing things up.
