How to Hang a Heavy Bag (Punching bag)
I just bought a 70lbs bag. Do u suggest doing all this for this bag? I was just planning on going into the joist.
It works well.
So, I previously had a 100lb heavy bag hung on our ceiling with just a 2x4 screwed to 2 separate joists with the heavy bag hanging from the center of it, and it shook our whole house. 😂 If I do it this way, will it stop that from happening?
ruclips.net/video/-rAS58V_4aI/видео.htmlsi=TK7KkAqruigom1ou This is how I did it originally. Shook the whole house. 😂 Also, disclaimer, that's not me in the video.
I looked in my attic above my garage and I don’t have 2x4s up there it looks like I have 2x12s not sure how I do this same method in my garage. Any suggestions ? 😩
I just ordered my fairtex banana bag. Can’t wait to hang it. Thanks for this video.
Have fun!
Do you still use this setup? If yes, Does this setup make shaking (roof) noise when punching the bag?
I used it for along time without any issues. I sold that house and moved so I don’t use it anymore. The new owner purchased the bag from me because he wanted it. It just added value to the house!
Good job! Well played
Thanks!
You’re doing the work of the lord. Thank you very much
Ummmm. No!
How's this holding up?
Perfect
Is your ceiling drywall
It was
Thanks for the video. I want to mount my bag in my garage as well but my master bedroom is directly about my garage. I'm guessing I need to get a 2x4 and secure it to the trusses where it will be visible right?
How has this been holding up ?
John Slack holding up well.
That is the answer tha k you very much well for storage rather than having a sta d taking up a corner all the time good video buddy
Why use multiple washers inside the attic? Great video but I would use a lock nut so the nut would not vibrate loose and permenit locktight.
Very strong, straight forward and clean appearance. Thanks for the posting
Best video I've seen yet for hanging a heavy bag.👍
all i wanted is a video to show me how to hung a heavy bag not to build a fking house .
Did u just read my comment now cuz it took u 4 years to hang the bag?
Would this hold up my 200 lbs bag?
Of course. My brother weighs >200 pounds and he hung on the bag after it was up.
"Hot as balls up hera!" Lol. I know what you mean man.
How heavy is that bag
Rift Salty yes.... I think it is 130.
Very good excellent
we wanna see you hit it
How has it held up so far? I have a 100lb heavy bag I'm going to mount soon but as a new homeowner I'm a little hesitant to mount it to the ceiling. This does look like the best way and is similar to what I had in mind
U must be like my other me because I have the same exact question I just bought a 100lb bag I'm a new homeowner myself but like u I'm hesitant aswell of fear of bringing down the ceiling. And not to mention my name is Chris aswell lol
Shouts out to this guy for a well demonstrated process! Looks like it could easily hold about 5 of those bags. Thanks
Video in landscape instead.
Stangtabulous I will get right on that! Lmao
would definitely use screws over nails.
Screws snap and break.... nails bend.. Nails are much better... that’s one of the reasons houses are mostly made with nails and not screws.
@@DrDavidL Depends on the type of screw. nails are cheap and also wiggle out easily.
@@coleoshtamebaghe3606 Guess our houses are gonna fall down with those cheap nails.
@@brandona.deimel5155 Don't think a nail holding a 2 by four to another piece of wood and a screw holding a punching bag are under the same forces. I installed ones with screws. My kids best the crap out of it, and it's holding up fine. Each to their own.
I don't agree - Nails are sturdy, bend, and don't break easily. That's why houses are made out of nails and not screws. @@coleoshtamebaghe3606
Hello the size of the drill bit is it the same size as the eye bolt? Or do you go one size down and try and twist it in there???
What’s the spring called that u got from amazon?
Thanks bro! Finally get my bag hung up.
Thanks for a great video.... Saved me a lot of research time.
How can I prevent my heavy bag from swinging easily?
You can buy a bag that has a ring on the bottom and anchor it. I could have had one put on the bottom of my Outslayer bag (they offer this free of charge if you buy one of their bags). I think that if your heavy bag is light then it will tend to swing a lot. My bag weights 120 pounds and it doesn't move much at all. I used to have a lighter bag that swung all over the place. Also - I think the spring make a big difference.
DrDavidL thanks
Great video!
Spectacular!
Great video, actually showing what to do.
Thank you for this demonstration , finally a video that explains how and why to hang a bag properly. You have given the internet what it needed
Awesome explanation! Gonna get this done this weekend.
Hi, This is uncanny. I just finished my latest rag and wanted to review some Chopin and yesterday I choose the waltz in C sharp minor and then somehow landed on you rendition which was great. Check out: George Playing Texas Foxtrout, George Playing Cottentail Rag and George Playing Patricia Rag.
Hold on no way! This is so freakin awesome! You could be famous with this much skill man
