From My House To You
Добавлен 17 окт 2011
My name is Brenda and I am 58 years old. I am a homemaker and enjoy cooking, crafting and all kinds of fun projects! I have learned the benefit of being prepared, not only for SHTF, but for all of life’s events. So I guess I’m a prepper at heart, and I enjoy sharing the things I’ve learned. I want to encourage others in any way I can, sharing the knowledge I've gained through my life experiences. I have it on my heart to encourage others to be prepared, but I also love homemaking, budgeting, meal planning, crafting, crocheting, all the fun things! I'm not sure what my channel will look like, but my hope is that it will be a fun place to visit, packed with many helpful ideas and helps!
I love my subscribers, and appreciate you all so much for taking the time to stop by and watch my videos, and leave comments! Thank you all so much for stopping by!

Or butter instead of shortening
And use cold shortning
You need to use ice water
Good job
What temperature do you bake the pie at please?
Oh Dear!!! Her Hygiene Is Making My Tummy Turn!!🤪 Please Stop Touching Your Hair,Nose and Clothes!!! Wash Your Hands....Please!!!!🫣🥺🤮👍🇬🇧
Looks good & easy! Where's the pot pie recipe that you used this crust for? Is there a link to it?
@@bikermama1959 I don’t have an exact recipe, I just use leftover vegetables and meat, or One pkg of frozen mixed vegetables, cubed chicken, turkey or beef, one jar of gravy. I also use leftovers, just about 4-6 cups, enough to fill a pie shell. Season to your taste. If you don’t have gravy, melt 2Tblsp of butter in a small pan. Add 3Tblsp flour and stir to blend til it begins to thicken. Add 1c chicken broth and mix well. Add to veggies and meat, season to taste, add to pie shell, put top crust on and bake at 375 for about 45 min. Enjoy!
Repeatedly whipping you nose as you cook is not a good look.
Thank uou i will make this
Jesus Christ saves. Time is short. Be baptised for remission of sins in Jesus holy name 🙏🏼🌿⚔️
Great haul. I went yesterday to grab a few things to fill in some gaps. I'm glad I just needed a few things ( mostly produce and canning jars) at Walmart. It was pretty crowded. I overheard several people say they were getting ready for Francine . One lady I was talking to has a husband with Parkinson's who is coming home from rehab (spent 1 week in the hospital and 2 weeks in Rehab folliwing a fall. She said she mainly needed some canned soup and toilet paper, since she was pretty well stocked on everything else. I was glad to hear that. ❤
Really great to see you, Brenda! A puppy? What kind of puppy did you get? Awesome haul, I like GV spaghetti sauces too, I add hamburger onions and seasonings yum. I hope you all are doing well. Have a wonderful week🙏❤
@@MartinMidlifeMisadventures my son and his wife have moved in with us and they have a little Maltese puppy. I watch your videos but not always able to comment. You have accomplished great things with that move! And your garden is awesome!
I buy that medicated powder too. Have you noticed they're only a little over half full??
@@wunsagin no I had not noticed! That’s awful!
@@FromMyHouseToYou Hold it up to the light, I saw it when you were holding it.
@@wunsagin oh wow! I didn’t even notice.
Great to see you. Very nice haul ❤
Good video! I need some flats of canned food, thank you for reminding me!
Nice haul, always feels good to get things filled back up and a bit extra to add. We have been adding for electric grid down. Like potable water options, no power cooking, heating, lighting, and so on. An area we were lacking in.
I thought you were actually dehydrating them
What's the sugar content on the Gatorade? Processed meat - so bad for you. Walmart is cheap, but people pay for it later with their medical costs.
I know that Gatorade does have sugar, my father in law is diabetic and he drinks the sugar free Gatorade. Unfortunately, where I live I don’t have a lot of options for shopping. I prefer Kroger and Aldi, but have to drive 45 minutes to get there.
Does flour ever go bad? I enjoy your informative video. Great idea.
@@susancompton2429 so far I’ve never had any flour go bad. I freeze it for a few days then let it come to room temp for a day then keep it in airtight containers. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@FromMyHouseToYou Thank you! I am so glad you came up on feed and I subscribed. I am excited to watch more from you!
Thank you so much!
Do you ever freeze one of them?
I’ve never frozen a pie crust, but I will make and freeze an extra pie! My Grandma would make and freeze pie crusts though.😊
the news has been banned from our house my husband is new to the prepared life and he got way too over whelmed so we just prepare fand stock up on the things we use as a family and plan out what if situations and act out the plans
@@NYSSASHOMESTEAD I totally understand. I believe if you have a good working pantry and stock up on items your family needs, you will be prepared for any situation (most situations). Good plan!
Hubby’s rule: never let the gas tanks get below a half tank. For many reasons like: emergency trip to the kids/parents 50-100 miles away; when full - that’s 40 gallons for the generator if the power goes out; etc. I also gave up soda (Pepsi) in April cold turkey & limiting carbs & added sugar: that & Trulicity down 30lbs.
@@barbmichaelis4258 congrats on the healthy choices and weight loss! 😊
Stockpile White Toothpaste for burns. It works even better than ice! Slather White Toothpaste immediately on the burn to stop the pain in a few minutes and stop the burn from going deeper. A must have!
@@sarellawolff7196 thanks for sharing that great idea! 😊
Gtrat video, I just started a small binder.
@@HummerGirl88 that’s a great way to start! Binders are so important! 😊
Great haul Brenda! You certainly gave me ideas of what to stock!
@@lilisnow2404 thank you!😊
Great haul! Yes they say the economy is doing very well because consumer spending is up. One of the big metrics they point to is groceries, since we spend more buying food that means we're not worried about money evidently. 😂😂🤣🤣
@@prepperfortheages878 oh wow, now that’s hilarious! It’s just insane! Gas prices are crazy. $3.69 where I live, and $3.34 30 miles away.
I'm impressed you have room in your freezer for that huge bag of flour! I always try to buy at least 5 items every week not on my grocery list but things I will use. This week I bought tuna, canned carrots, red beans, soup and a can of creamed corn. It all adds up.
@@wunsagin sounds like you are doing well stocking up! 😊
Yes, 100 dollars buys very little.
Seems like restocking preps is getting harder. There's things I need to work on getting restocked too.
@@baddrivercam yes I just do a little at a time as I can afford it. Keep in mind that every bit helps!
Awesome!
Must be muffin day. I just pulled banana muffins out of the oven. I'm pretty sure my husband doesn't eat the bananas just so I'll make these muffins.
@@wunsagin banana muffins are my favorite!
@@FromMyHouseToYou my homemade banana muffins never turn out good. So I don't make them. Maybe a video idea to teach me and other.
Thank you. I had these at a B&B years ago in Virginia. Looking forward to trying them again
@@BrendaJBarNett I hope you enjoy them!
You are absolutely correct about the "it's only blank dollars ". A lot of people get caught up in that. Then do that almost everyday. It adds up fast for sure.
Thank goddesses I came across this channel, you're wonderful. Everyone needs to get ready for the collapse that's coming.
@@carmencarmenatti hello and welcome to my channel! 🤗
Hi Brenda.. I learned this tip to use fruit roll up trays or parchment paper to prevent the food from falling in between the cracks..HTH..
@@Fritz0616 great idea! Thanks for sharing!
That's awesome you are dehydrating and canning. Great advice on the gas. It's been so hot here too, but we had rain this morning. Great haul, Brenda! Keep stacking it! Getting off the soda is life changing. In about a month you're going to feel the difference ❤ have a wonderful Tuesday. Stay safe and well🙏❤️🫑
Great haul! And, yes, prices are going up, despite what they say. Item A may cost a nickel less than last month, but Item G costs $3.00 more. You have to watch the bottom line.
So true. When I find a sale, I stock up on that item!
@@FromMyHouseToYou Me, too! Even though I may not need it at the time, I can always store it.
Great grocery haul. Thanks for sharing! We filled our cars with gas today, too! I agree, we shouldn't let the tanks go below half full.
My daughter moved out last year and I'm turning her bedroom into a pantry. It will be nice to have everything in one place and easier to keep track of what is needed to fill the gaps.
I did the same! I love having the extra room for more storage space!
Great haul! Am sure Shadow appreciates the extra cat food. I just bought an extra 40lb bag (they used to be 50lbs) of dog food for Sam, his preps are a little low at the moment.
Yeah, I remember not too long ago it was hard to find pet food. We have to prep for them too! My son and his wife have recently moved in with us, and they have a little Maltese puppy. So now there are two pets! 🤗
stocked up on 6 months of pet food today
So good to see you. Yes, we try to keep our vehicles full too. Even on a long drive we will stop at half a tank to fill up. You just never know. We also make sure we have enough cash for gas. Again you never know when credit is down.
So true!
I am 63 and alone. I have no weapons or bunkers to. I grow a little and gradually stock up.
That’s a great plan Mary! Thanks for sharing!
Canned fruit is on my grocery list every week. I like having a good supply for those weeks I can't get to the store or if fresh is just not available. Love the idea of canning homemade stew. Now if I can just get over the fear of the pressure canner!
Yep, those are all things we have in our pantry pretty much all the time. Good, even past expiration date (not recommending, just saying our opinion). Great recommendations for people starting out making their own prepper pantry 😊 Hope you're all doing well. Tell Amy I said hello, please. ❤
Hi! I will tell her! She is happily married now! Hope you are all doing well!❤️
@@FromMyHouseToYou Yes, I remember you mentioned she was getting married quite a time ago. I'm so glad she's happy. She deserves to be ❤️
I love shelf stable milk, when I run out I just pull one out of the pantry!
Keystone ground beef is my favorite. It's been available again at our Walmart too. Freeze dried fruit, pasta, chicken, just to name a few of my favorite things stored up.
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing!
Shelf stable ground beef is a must for me
Anytime something I like go's on sale I pick up a couple extra. Tomato soup this week. Regular $1.39. On sale for .99 cents. It will be more come fall. Nothing is going to get cheaper.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing. Prices are just crazy for sure. Good plan!
I'm new to your channel but not new to prepping. I'm like you I don't have a bunker or weapons. But I live in Australia and it's so hard to get weapons anyway. I live on a low income. So prepping has also saved my butt many a time. Refreshing to find a channel that's not all about amo and zombies lol. I'm a big gardener and I stock up on food and things but feel I still need to stock up on more. It's a process, as you know. I feel more prepared then others around me but no way near as much as some other channels show ( that makes me feel daunted)
Sounds like you are doing great with your preparedness! Welcome to my channel and I hope you enjoy it!
