00:51 beer time 😂
Two thumbs up, that thing looks great
I love the pattern. I wonna do the same to a restoration kayak I'm doing, just bigger shapes and over the interior thing. Not just top side
There’s no way some watcher is not going to put that hot spoon on their tongue. You’ve forgotten z Murphy’s Law. Btw, great easy explanation, but dumb is as dumb does! I wish you had shown dipping the spoon in the water to cook off…my wish is for all the toasty tongued repairers.
Oregon Space Trail of Doom! Print Shop buds of ours!
What kind of paint did you use?
Siiiiick!
Wow VERY nice a lots od worki by satisfactionn hudge
That was an incredible amount of work for a finish that won't last more than a season or two at best. Honestly kind of lost me as soon as the bondo was applied to the boat. Bondo (and most paints) doesn't bond properly to the type of plastic kayaks are made of. Having been on the other side of this (cleaning a boat that misguided person painted)...it's a mess to clean back up and do properly (sand and buff the boat back to a decent finish). If you don't like the color of your boat; sell it and buy another boat.
There are paints and primers made specifically for plastics. Using the right materials there'll be no issue. The bondo on the otherhand I completely agree. It'll last until a scratch hits that area and water gets in, then it's done for.
Your a rock star for making such an astounding video. No words, just easy to follow steps. Just what I needed. Thank you
Nice paint job 👍❤️
What type of paint are you using???
I'm going to try something like that on the casting decks I'll be adding in June. Thanks :)
Show what it looks like after months of use. Thx
Any Idea what kind of paint he used? What paint bonds to HDPE?
Ficou 👌uma bosta.
Good job other than using portrait... I never understood why ppl do that. Are your eyes vertical from each other or horizontal?
Would you ever be interested in doing a custom form mine?
Cool vid. Great job.
I love that paint job! Now if I could do that with purple and complimentary colors, I'd be in heaven 💜
Epic

Fantastic.! Can you provide a materials list PLEASE??? :-)
Wow! Im late to the party but very impressive work. I have a sun bleached tandem Pamlico. I guess its time to get to work. Thanks for the inspiration.
How well did it hold up to kayaking?
It’s been holding up incredibly well. Only spots that are flaking are where it’s rubbed upon like the j racks on the car and such
Hi Chris. It's 2021 now. Have you run into any issues with the paint peeling? Thanks.
Super....
awesome!
That paint doesnt peel off??
Anyone else see a face in the dirt on the kayak when he first starts washing it?
Yes, a man. But. Then again I've always seen faces in so many things lol
Thx 😊 looks fun
Wow
chris - just purchased a used kayak with a bit of wear and tear on it. I've watched you video several times and really enjoyed seeing you go thru all the steps to making an ugly kayak really attractive. question - would you be willing to create a simple bullet list of the steps you went thru and a materials list? I'd like to give my Wilderness Tarpon a fresh look - right now it's a drab deep green. Anyway. Thanks in advance. Matt - Orlando, Florida
Hey homie sorry I just saw this. So in a nutshell, clean it, sand it as smooth as you can. Like I went from 750 Grit all the way to 2000. Then I used rustoleum enamel primer and paint. Oh and look up the rolling and tipping method when you get to painting. It’s been well over a year now and honestly it’s still holding up remarkably well! Some spots are missing but nothing bigger than a couple inches. And also I wouldn’t bother painting the inside if I could do it again. It’s not worth it and you’ll peel the paint when you use it.
I need steps and material listing. Love this
Do you have to sand it before painting?
Yes, then prime it using a primer for plastics. otherwise it would just flake right off. especially with the plastics used in rotomolded kayaks, they are made to be chemical resistant. Same types of plastic used for 55 gallon drums that can hold acids with no issue. any other way and it simply wouldn't stay on.
nice texture!
Nice video. I am looking for someone to restore my kayak... any chance you're in Florida? Lol.
What did you use to prime the polypropylene ???
Disliked cuz that flag LOL
I don't think that was his flag, that's why he removed it.
Nice vid. What is the marerial used to make the fillings? Most use melted hdpe but this seems easier. Thanks!
I really enjoyed the video. If you could be so kind and tell us noobs the steps you took. I want to know what chemicals you used to clean and get the paint to stick to the plastic in a good way
Hey bud sorry I just saw this. I commented this on the other guys question so I’ll copy and Paste. So in a nutshell, clean it, sand it as smooth as you can. @@lewdachris7721 that’s awesome! Thank you so much for sharing.
What kind of paint are you using?
What kind of paint did you use? Great job too!
Rustoleum enamel. Using rolling and tipping. Sand the hell out of it first. Get it as smooth and clean as possible.
@@lewdachris7721 hows it holding up?
@@jorjito5587 You, i am curious how it's holding up too. I was planning to do the same to mine this summer and this is an interesting idea.
@@RaduTudoroiu @george riggs it’s holding up surprisingly well! The only spots that are removed are where it runs when in the cradle on my car. But beyond that it’s ship shape
@@jorjito5587 hey I commented on the other guy but yeah holding up very well!
Yodas right lol good money in this I hope you make more restoration vids i enjoyed this video and subbed
But fr u could make a ton of money just from doing this
