Jean-Pierre Vilespy sounds like your normal ionian with a flattened third, i.e. your standard major 7th. Played with transitions from the 3rd and the 5th to 2nd and 4th.

Ive been waiting for this for awhile man Brooklyn had the best set list all year so jealous. This was great... I hate to ask on this video but mayer inspired me to pick up the guitar and songwriting if you have a moment and could check out my first 2 songs id mean alot

I understand! John's been my favorite for years and my devotion and love of his music gets stronger every year. I love the mature man he's grown into from the most appealing young man in his early twenties to now. I've loved it all.
