crazy how multiple cultures shape this country it's definitely on my bucket list 👌
Honestly, it’s a nice place.
North Africa is a beautiful place. A million times better than places like Pakistan and India.
Weird comment, who said anything about Pakistan and India?
Yup Tunisian cuisine is undefeated. But, it is actually illegal to take out the tunsian currency out of Tunisia. it is also illegal to bring with you tunisian currency when you are coming. I guess you can take with you few coins and banknotes if you care about collecting different currencies as a souvenir, but if it is huge amount, yup it is illegal. so, they were not trying to dupe you out of money. They told you you are going to miss your flight and just go because they were being nice and did not want you to miss your flight.
Tunisia is a nice country, honestly, but I think they wanted the money for themselves, it wasn’t the first time Police in that Airport asked me for money.
@@alnomadou maybe they did want to take the money for themselves instead of returning it to the government through legal pathways. However, it would have been within their right to confiscate the tunisian currency before you leave tunisian soil, and yet, they let you go anyway so that you do not miss your flight. So, let's just say that they were being nice to you after all.
I wasn’t the only one who had TD on the flight, additionally, they let me go because I told them that I would go outside the Airport and find someone who needs it more but I won’t give it to them (The Police). You are trying to make them sound nice, they just wanted the money, when they realised that they wouldn’t get it, they let me know. I know corrupt cops when I see them, like I said this was the second time Police in that Airport asked for money, these is clearly a corruption problem. Tunisia is nice but you guys definitely have corrupt cops.

Good job, nice vlog👍
I have just been to tunisia when it comes to arab countries and for me I always thought its hard to beat the tunisian food when it comes to how tasty it is. Happy to hear you're confirming it 😄
I think it’s the best in North Africa, but if we are talking about Arab food, for me nothing tops Lebanese/Syrian.
Also half of the country is gay and you will hear them telling you in french "j'aime les hommes", which is a tribute to how much the country is tolerant isn't it 😂
I’ve heard them say ‘Les hommes’ but not J’aime Les homme. There are many Arab g*ys, it’s normal just look at the statics of Moroccans on Grindr.
@@alnomadou Sure, I was mocking the overly high misogyny there. There's obviously not more nor less gays than anywhere else.
@@halnineooo136 According to the Grindr Statics Morocco has more, also Morocco is in the top 10 countries of P**nography viewers. I can send you the statics or I can even make a video about it if you want.
@@alnomadou I doubt there are any significant statistics for this about Algeria to compare to 😄 Why not make a video about sexuality in the Maghreb but I think it wouldn't be an easy task, you may get in trouble with the authorities there

I have tried Egyptian Mlokhiaa, but I found it to be Mediocre.
@@alnomadou Tunisian mloukheya is the best ! It is 100% the opposite of that of the Middle East ! It is extremely tasty, cooked with dried Corchorus olitorius leaves, or simply called " mloukheya "in Tunisia. Cooked with dried leaves, not the fresh ones with olive oil and any kind of red meat makes the taste way different and way better... !
@@asmakemli I will be back and I will definitely be trying this.
@@asmakemli Thank you for informing me., I will have to give it a try next time I come to Tunisia. I am not a fan of Middle Eastern Mloukheya but I will give Tunisian Mloukheya a chance.

some immigrants are acting normally making tunisian friends and exploring on their own or with a couple of friends but most of the immigrants are living in groups of hundreds with leaders experienced in war and they are sent a bunch of money from foreign enteties and they have weapons, a couple of months ago one of them killed a little girl so when the police tried to arrest that guy the whole group fought to protect him and killed 2 members of the police and destroyed the police car, i see immigrants working all the time in my city and just acting like normal people, i study with couple of immigrants and they are fine but the vast majority of them don't speak tunisian and don't value tunisian life they are protecting african murderers and killing tunisian children, its a tribalistic "us vs you" situation and often times theses 2 types of immigrants get confused with each other
it was fine before it was white, brown, black are considered tunisien but now its starting to become more and more like america this is dangerous once the groups see themselves as different people there is no going back and each group will fight for their own benefit alone in the news when a crime happens the title is for example "25 yo man kills 20 yo man" i hope it doesn't become like "25 yo black man kills 20 yo white man" that's the worst thing that could happen
This is sad to hear, regardless in general, Tunisians are nice people, I can’t say that they are racist especially as there are black Tunisians. I just noticed that they seem apprehensive.
Hello, it's actually forbidden to get Tunisian Dinar out of Tunisia.
That make sense, it’s like Libya. Regardless the police officers tried to take my money.

You should link your full video to this short, I don't know how to do it but it's feasible.
Will do.
I think that if you want proper information in a city or a town you have to look for a cerified guide or historian as many of the locals will know just partial history etc... a historian can tell you the significance of the symbols on the doors(they do have a symol and uses). Also ask elders inside the mosque or people maintaining the mosque about the history or religious informations, we don't practice soufism all over ....in Tunisia the government doesnt offer housing as people are owners and responsible to maintain their properties, why do you have the algiers casbah as a reference? We have literally a medina in every town, in algeria not so much, bizerte has a medina, Tunis, Hammamet, Nabeul, Sousse, monastir, Gafsa, Sfax and many others, some still have standing walls, some don't, some are really big like Tunis, kairouan, sousse and sfax, others are mid size and small sized like the one in hammamet, most coastal towns have one as a protection against invaders. In algeria their casba is much smaller than many in Tunisia and also dilapidated and had a much different history than ours, in our medinas like in Tunis we have different neighborhoods specific to certain businesses like chaouachine where they make chachia and traditional clothes, el berka where they make jewelry, sabaghine where they used to die animal skin or leather and many others then you have neighborhood surrounding them with heavy population like beb souika, beb el khadhra, beb mnara etc... all inside the medina of Tunis.
Thanks bro, you really take pride in your country. Next time I visit, I will come to you for advice.
@@alnomadou it's not pride, it's just love for knowledge, I like history, architecture, way of life, food, I did a tour of the whole country with my family when I was younger, I visited like 90% of Tunisia archeological sites but the border areas with algeria, I also visited most museums in Tunisia, funny that after 20 years I still have a memory of those many places I visited, funny enough that after 2 weeks of traveling and on our way back to Tunis at El Jem we found out that the camera we used the whole time had no film in it!!! That was back in the 90s....
Please take the information on this video with a pinch of salt. The Man in the video was a local that we stumbled across randomly. Ensure to fact check the information in the video.
there are so many misleading information. The mosque of 3 doors is not older than the big mosque (built in 50 hijra) but also there's an older mosque which is the mosque of mheneya (i think 43 hijra). The building with the hand of fatime is not a mosque. Kairouan is the first islamic capital of the whole maghreb (north africa). What they are doing in the big mosque is called malla (which is a circle of children that try to memorize the quran and not dhikr) also there's nothing sufist about that and sufism is not originally north african nor it is our original faith here.
Thanks for this. I have no knowledge on this. I will leave a note in the comment to advice people to do their on research. I let the locals tell their story and it seems they may have misinformed us.
Also I think the capital of soufism in Tunisia is in Nafta if I'm not mistaken.
@alnomadou the medina of Kairouan is heavily inhabited as well that's why it's well maintained and I don't think it's the biggest Medina in Tunisia, I'm pretty sure that the Medina of Tunis is the biggest, you can check on Google maps, also in your video of Tunis you just too a tourist path to the Zitouna mosque but in reality the Medina is massive and has over 100 000 inhabitants (2004 estimate) probably way more now, if you see abandoned buildings in the Medina their owners moved decades ago to buy bigger in the suburbs but kept their properties and didn't bother renovating them because they just don't need them or use them(my family owns a few buildings in the Medina of Tunis from generations), if you come back to Tunis you will have to take like a whole day to visit most of the medina, try to sit in a nice restaurant , it's a nice experience, you'll pay a little more but it's worth it, also you should visit the Bardo museum , i has the biggest mosaic collection in the world and It's the biggest museum in the Maghreb region and I think 2nd in Africa after the Cairo museum, enjoy.
@@alnomadouif you're interested in soufism you should visit Nafta in the south, I believe it's the capital of soufism in North Africa, many algerians do the "pilgrimage" or whatever you call it to this city.
I am not particularly interest in Soufism, I just thought it was being practised, but it seems that wasn’t the situation. Any a quick question, the little kid the in video, I don’t believe he is Tunisian, his Arabic was more Middle Eastern, would you agree?
Algerians have a bad reputation in Tunisia, funny that he thinks he knows about us.... ask his tall friend what we really think of them, they come to Tunisia as cheap "tourists", extremely cheap, extremely rude and dirty, you will discover yourself brother and dont trust everything coming out of little man mouth. And algeria is actually sending sub saharan africans to Tunisia, we do not have land borders with any Sub-Saharan country. So we are liberals? Please we don't need your opinions about our way of life brother, i can find a lot of things to say about nigerians and their religions, as well as algerians where in kabyle region for example Christianity is spreading and algerians attending church services so yeah if you go somewhere you should never judge people by the first look.😊
Tunisia is liberal in comparison to other Arab/ North African Countries. I don’t see what your problem is? If a white guy from France said this, you would probably embrace him. It’s an observation. I think you are a bit sensitive. You can say what you want about my country as long as it’s true I have no issue with it, this truth is the truth.
@@alnomadou you've been to a few coastal towns 😆 🤣 😂 you don't know a thing! Islam was spread in Nort Africa from Tunisia, we have one of the oldest madrasa/university/mosque wich is called Al Zaytuna mosque, you as a righteous Muslim should not judge others by their clothes, what standard did you use to compare? Can you see people beliefs and convictions from what they're wearing for example? We in Tunisia are not bigots like the algerians, we don't call women who don't wear a hijab a wh..... in algeria they say ras mghoti w zo. Ya3ti , ask your algerian friend about this Algerian saying.
Brother, I never claimed to be pious or a righteous Muslim. Also, it’s not just the way the people dress, we saw a lot of stuff. I think you need to read the definition of liberal. Ramzi said you were liberal in your dress sense, I said in general your are a more liberal society (based on what I have seen, in comparison to Egypt, Morocco & Algeria). All the best brother, I don’t see any point in going back and forth.
@@alnomadou we Tunisians are more "civilised" than liberal, actually we are a very conservative society, we are not tribal like the countries you mentioned, in Morocco they have the rif people in the north and souss in the south wich have some kind of autonomy, in algeria they have kabylie, chaoui, touareg etc.... in Egypt they have tribes that are armed which is worse than those 2, their governments have to sit down with their "elders" to make deals etc.... in Tunisia it does NOT exist, we have 1 government from the north to the south, we don't have independence movements inside of Tunisia, we have our own identity and don't need to prove to anyone anything, also in Tunisia we have personal freedoms, also remember that you are in the most democratic Arabic country, in one of your videos you were talking about kais said and our economy and politics, I dare you to say anything about the military in algeria for example.... thank you 😊
