    "Gold sniffing hound" is no joke. Recently, got back from a trip with Dick in Northcentral and Southwestern CO. Every cleanout was better than the last (except maybe one or 2) in 2 different locations in the state. He really hunts it down.... I don't think there is ANYONE that has more gold knowledge, or is more fun to prospect with. THANKS DICK !!

    That's a big nugget. I just got back from some adventures out West with Doc. What an outstanding person of great character. He is like a bloodhound on the gold. Pretty much every cleanout we got closer to better gold. His knowledge is abundant.

    That looks like so much fun. I tried panning once when I lived in Denver. I went to Rainbow lakes and tried it. Came up with nothing. I never thought about it might be someones claim until I started watching these videos. I'm actually glad I didn't find anything now. I would have felt like a crook if I did find anything. Great video thanks

    That's the difference between hunting private land vs public. On public, you'd never get to sit three days in a row on a pond like that without somebody walking in on you. I got to hunt some private a few years ago near Carbondale and it was like shooting fish in a barrel, You just had to wait for the pressure to push the elk onto the private land.

    Not sure why you waited so long too shoot that. 200yrds is perfect Range with good knockdown power...@ 80yrds its tougher too kill with one shot as it goes right through..unless you hit in the neck lolMy last 6x6 Bull was killed at 82yrds in neck...if possible I've shot all game in neck...don't move 1 step and drop with .270I also hunt in Colorado every yearGreat story and 1 season you'll never forget:)

      There was a rumor of a large 7x7 in the area that I was waiting for. But I got weak in the knees when this bull stood in front of me at 80 yards for the third time. My bad!

    • @olroy2006
      @olroy2006 7 лет назад

      Dick Steele You have a perfect location unit 6 Your lucky to see Elk like this daily and at same location every day. I would of waited out too for that 7x7 My unit 20 yrs ago you use to see herds at 300plus but not today. Your lucky to see 100 head at once. They need to stop off killing of cows for awhile. Great hunt and enjoyed your video...hope you get that 7x7 next time

    • @elknut4e
      @elknut4e 7 лет назад

      Thanks. It was great watching all the elk. What you don't see is hours and hours waiting and seeing nothing and wondering if the elk moved some where else. Maybe next time I will be able to hold out. That is if I ever get the chance to hunt that excellent location ever again.
