All things considered with salt water riding, the Kawasaki is the best value, quality, hull design, performance, however styling is questionable. Yamaha is a close second but they are $$ and their hull paint chips so easily. Stay away from Seadoo. Over engineered and riddled with problems. Based on my experiences and opinions.
Do not buy a supercharged seadoo. 100 hour rebuild interval on the supercharger at $800 plus. That's an additional $8+ an hour operating cost. Yamaha doesn't have a sc maintenance. interval. I don't know about Kawasaki.
Explorer for me. You can travel distance and have fun and go fishing too and carry a bunch of gear and it looks so sexy….😊
yamaha FTW...
According to current market data, Sea-Doo (manufactured by BRP) is the brand most commonly rented out for jet skis, holding the largest market share in the personal watercraft category, making it the manufacturer with the most rented jet skis. Key points about jet ski rentals: Dominant brand: Sea-Doo generally dominates the rental market, followed by Yamaha's "WaveRunner" brand. Market share: Sea-Doo often has a significantly higher market share compared to other brands like Yamaha and Kawasaki. Reason for popularity: A combination of factors like brand recognition, variety of models, and suitability for rental markets contribute to Sea-Doo's dominance in the rental space.
I went with a 2023 Kawasaki ultra 310X for the savings. even though Kawi isn't accessory friendly as the other two brands, and I figured that wasn't a big deal. I'm a simple person and so far, I'm happy with my choice
Seadoo or yamaha for reliability? dont wanna be stranded with a machine failure on the sea. Ive heard the seedoo's are monre at the workshops more than in the water?
Sea Doo = Carbon Seal = Tow Service SubDoo feature
Sea doo suck. Propeller O ring engineering defect
kawasaki duhh
Definitely Seadoo. I bought a 2024 GTI fully loaded. It's amazing
minom.8336 What else have you had? Nothing, right?
"And this whole thing is supposed to come up" .....2 seconds later *fck it*
I've always had seadoo but bought a gp 1800r svho love it better than my 3 seadoo
FX SVHO and FX CRUISER hold Low profile Chairs and a 24 can Cooler AND towels WAY MOST Storage for a beach day.
Seadoo is nicer. Closed cooling means less cleaning. Also seadoo looks cooler
Kawasaki. Quality over quantity. Yamaha has paint stripping issues and SeaDoo has the carbon seal
I agree, the Kawasaki has probably the most robust engine, but their new models are ugly. And Kawasaki has basically zero aftermarket support, unless you're on an SXR. Carbon seal really isn't that big of an issue. Don't run it out of water, pretty simple.
I'am a lot of junk in the trunk kind of guy also..go sea doo
Seadoos have plastic hulls. Yamaha has fiberglass hulls. The plastic will fade in the sun over time. Fiberglass wont fade any where near as fast. This was the deal breaker for me.
Polytech is plastic. That’s on the GTI and spark hulls. Everything else uses a combination of fiberglass and acrylic plastic. More durable than you might think. The FX has SMC fiberglass hull as of 2022+ models except the SVHO if I’m not mistaken. I wanna say the VX lineup and GP HO are SMC too. I know the supercharged GP is definitely not on SMC as that would make it slow EX is for sure on NanoXel there’s no question about that. I don’t like the paint stripping issues on the Yamaha. Also while the NanoXel the the Yamaha top decks are made of is hard to penetrate, it flexes when hitting waves hard which further increases the paint stripping issues. All 3 brands have pros and cons. I went with Kawasaki because with them it seems like they do quality over quantity. If Kawi wasn’t an option, I’d choose Yamaha because I have come across Yamaha engines with over a thousand hours on them. Same with Kawasaki. Never heard of a SeaDoo hitting a thousand
Unless you're talking about the Sparks or the GTI models they don't have plastic hulls. The have fiberglass, and yamaha paints the bottom of their hulls. Would you drag the hood of your car on a beach? thats what you're doing with a yamaha.
Where is that store?
Great lnfo😂😂
Regardless of design you cannot go wrong with a yamaha motor I've had yamaha motorcycles Musical instruments. Never had a problem
Rotax engines power light aircraft which are engineered to a way higher standard than any motorcycle engine.
I've had 2 seadoos bought them new. I haven't had alot of trouble with them but I would go with yamaha on my next one cause seadoos are having too many issues like the carbon seal and that reverse thing that clears debris from the jet pump and I feel like seadoos quality is declining in reliability. For the prices that the new ones cost it's ridiculous that they don't run at least 10 to 15 years with out issues for that money that's what we should be getting
Good information. Thanks! I’m trying to decide between Yamaha and Seadoo in the near future and this is the kind of real world experience that helps.
@@gottlicherhammerI’ve been brand loyal to seadoo for 20 years. Might also be switching to Yamaha. Hoping for Less maintenance and more reliability
gottlicherhammer, Avoid seapoo if you are looking for supercharged. Yamaha for reliability. Seadoo has much stronger hulls.
I have a 2022 fxho with the rec deck and fishing accessories. I couldn't ask for a better ski. That thing kicks ass. Plus the ladder on the rec deck is pretty awesome.
Just installed my rec deck on a 2022 fxsvho. Wish I went with the HO. The fishing multi rack is awesome
want a ski to ride ?..yamaha. want a ski to work on ?..seadoo.
Electric plus water. Yea imma hard pass on that 😂
I bet it’s a shocking good time
Yamaha 💪
Seadoo
Seadoo for me too.
Why not Kawasaki?
Yamaha!
I hear that Jamaican accent 🎉

I love the top deck design of the sea doo ST-3 hull . But the hull design is garbage. I love the sea doo 325 powertrain, but again the hulls are not the best. I actually cancelled my 325 order and went with the FX . It won't be as fast as the 325, but I feel the Yamaha hull is so much better, and I want the ride quality and handling over the top speed. I can live without the extra storage, its a trade off and I do give credit to sea doo for the best top deck design. But hull design is more important to me.
Now that Yamaha has changed back to SMC fiberglass vs. nano hull I would agree. I had a 22' GP1800R with de-laminating issues.. Yamaha shit the bed on that one. They were NO help whatsoever. 2 mo's out of 1 year warranty. GP's still have Nano hull but they got smart with FX.. adds more weight but much more solid hull construction and repair.
Yamaha 💪🏽
Did you mention the price?
With the price increase and colorway of the Rec lite Seadoo, it immediately had me look at Yamaha. Japanese manufacturing is leet.
SeaDoo vs Yamaha, they're both good. I just bought a new VX over a GTI. The reason was ergonomics. I didn't like how my knees had to be internally rotated to grip the ergo-lock seat. I get the ergo-lock concept on an aggressive machine like the RXP-X, but on recreational and touring machines, was it the right move? Your mileage may vary. If the ergonomics work for you, the SeaDoos have a lot of great features, like Linq. The value proposition on the SeaDoos is hard to beat as well. The fit and finish, I think is better on the Yamahas. GTI vs VX, the GTI is wider, feels larger, and is probably more stable. The GTI has more storage volume, but that's due to the depth of the compartments. The floor space of the storage compartments are about the same. I found it easier to reach the bottom of the front storage compartment in the VX because it isn't as deep. Again, I think there's more thought to ergonomics on the Waverunners that isn't quantified on the spec sheets. I was impressed by both brands and I think you have go sit on them to figure out which one is best for you.
Ask: Want yourself a torpedoo or a Wavrerunner.. Yamaha all day.
The GTX is the only one with the mid storage. It is not the biggest storage of the larger skis. Kawasaki is the largest internal storage. GTX is actually smaller storage and no cupholders. The GTX storage is conventient but the glovebox is tiny and you can not access that storage while driving because your handlebars flip up. Kawasaki Ultra gullwing storage is great and easily accessible while driving plus cupholders. Sea Doo link system is great but you have to buy the expensive link accessories. But system is great.
T3 hull upper decks. not just the GTX.
What Yamaha model has the highest HP of the brand?
Gp1800 svho
Yamaha has hull problems. rxtx325 best ski to get and I'm a Yamaha rider. more planted ride with seafood
what problems do they have?
Yamaha
Electric are aids and will fail lmao
I can’t wait to get a sea doo myself. Going with the fish pro sport hopefully end of June this year
Yamahas have a drains in the fool well
Most comfortable and best options. Rotax engines are indestructible and that's why SeaDoo is the largest seller of PWC in the entire world.
There problem is all the tech and sophisticated ecu. When things go wrong you are screwed. The Yamaha is more basic but that’s helpful
@@Coach49217 SeaDoo sells more because they invest in marketing and listen to customers. Including the customers that want boring a floating couch hence why the explorer pro is a thing
I have towed only broken Seadoos at Lake of the Ozarks. Never a Yamaha. That is why I bought a Yamaha and why they are used for almost every rental place too. Can't make money on it in the shop. Only if its out in the chop!

Where is this store that has everything?
Yamaha for reliability. Who cares that you have to reach over to get something from storage. If you do that whilst still moving your a idiot anyway.
I buy Yamaha and Toyota for reliability and resale value if I ever have to sell them.
