I found they didn't have a cohesive sound throughout all of their discography. Numetal on the first album, emo on 2nd and 3rd then by the time their fourth album came out ... they felt like a band performing greatest hits of their heyday Plus Ian, whilst he was a great singer, he wasn't the best lyricist at all. Whilst I always found Ian unliekable anyway due to his ego, inappropriate jokes and at the time rumoured lewd behaviour with fans I was totally gobsmacked when it was announced hes a nonce. They never reached the heights of the first and second albums. the third one felt like they wrote it for stadiums - it didnt feel they wrote it because they meant it, it just stunk of the record company desperation, the songs are only good because the others carried him. Their later stuff just didnt hit the mark at all.
