You mean iron? Presumably you were having a problem with your carriers. You have to have enough carriers free. Once you get to 300 population you want to unlock the ability for your carriers to be able to use carts on dirt roads. Or upgrade the roads. Too much work otherwise and it will slow down your economy

It’s random which ones are active but you need to develop hammers to the ones that are to gain the benefit ( or extra time)

On the maps where you can have 1000 pop yes. Otherwise 500 but once you get past 400 expect the economy to struggle

Also, just a bit of feedback: good video with plenty of information in it, although I'd argue that it's a comprehensive tutorial, not a simple one as the title says! However, when you're recording a session, please don't keep moving the cursor rapidly from side to side when you're trying to show an area on the map. On console, it has the effect of shaking the whole screen, which is quite hard to watch for those of us who are a bit older and may have trouble with our eyes, etc. :) Hope that helps!

In terms of the warehouse you are correct this would make sense. The mechanic in game doesn’t work that way yet though :( I’ve suggested the other way around (set a maximum) to see if that works better. Always appreciate the feedback too :) will keep it in mind for any future videos. I have the game on pc now so might make the recording process smoother. Can also do a video longer than an hour so that will make my life easier :)

@@Killerdave1991 Thanks, an hour is probably plenty from a viewer's perspective! Might be better to either either break it up into more manageable chunks or add chapters to make it easier to navigate. Your call though, of course. Edit: would appreciate more console specific content too, as there isn't a lot of it about, particularly for this game, which appears to have been shunned by the PC community and/or long-time Settlers fans. Keep up the good work!

@@timbader898 every video so far was from a ps5 perspective. Gameplay is practically the same. I do prefer ps5 over pc. Only problem is you can’t click the map you have to physically drag everywhere. Tip I found helpful though is to mark a warehouse or whatever so you can move the camera to it for much better speed if you get dragged away for a notification

​@@Killerdave1991 That's OK, I was just trying to be encouraging to keep doing the PS5 content! That sounds like a good tip: How do you mark a building? Another tip for general map movement I found last night, is if you press L2+R2 to open the larger map view, then map scrolling is a lot faster while it's open. So you can open the view, scroll where you want, and then close the view again, for longer distances.

Pc and console are near enough the same outside of controls. So 3 factions currently on both and not heard of any plans for any more. They are still updating and working on the game , even if communication is awful and presumably with those updates will be more maps too

Been a while, but it might be from a well up the hill? I think for this one you get boosts for completing the wells or whatever they are , or for defeating an enemy

@MrKillacus the active one can change per game on pvp. I think it’s fixed for the challenge.

As far as being fun, I would say yes it's worth it. Downside is, if you like pvp, you'll never get a match. At least on steam. And solo you can only play 1v1 vs a bot. There is no 2v2/3v3/4v4 with bots. And you can't pick larger then the 1v1 maps to play on, so the small selection you get can get monotonous. The resources are all simulated, though. So building far away from your main hub actually requires people to transport goods, which I love. Just wish they'd add bot support for larger games.

You can join the discord. Constant games of 2v2 or 4v4 are played within the community :) you may have trouble finding randoms to play with though

I managed to get it working past the startup by saving and leaving without that particular dlc. Hopefully it’s fixed soon. Although I’ve just started a let’s play so I guess by the time I’m ready for it , it should be fixed

Depends on the teammate lmao but yeah it’s not a bad game and can get very tense

i played this game at launch and it was utterly awful, one of the worst games I ever played in my life, I don't know if it is still; that way but I would do some checking before you buy it.

We’re now on version 1.05 and it has improved since . It’s not there yet but they’re still working on it

In the initial starting position you only have none regrowing trees. The wood is limited. By boosting the woodcutters your wood lasts longer. Once you’ve got out and you gain access to the regrowing trees then yes the sawmill is better. In general the sawmill is usually the choice. But for this specific map , I try and make those trees last as long as possible as coming out can be precarious. I think the depths is another map where generally boosting woodcutters works better. (Although on that map if you build sparingly you can boost 1 woodcutters and 1 sawmill to achieve 4 plans per log)

It’s a good attempt and the graphics are awesome. It is slowly improving on the mechanics side too

It's not worthy of being called a Settlers game.

Maybe not atm, but as we’ve seen with cyberpunk or no man’s sky , develops can make a game better by working hard at it. So far we have seen some very good updates with great quality of life improvements.

A lot of my previous games against strong players have been like this :) loads of towers and archers / healers in the back. Can hold off the tower destroyers for a long time

I love playing with Becky :) we’ve done sims but that’s just with her input, we’re looking at doing another game 2 player once we’ve finished this playthrough and we’re waiting for the update

There is a few armors that let you carry 2 stims more, same with frags ;)

Yep :) it also increases the duration of the storms effect. Can help you take a beating if you know your in trouble
