Leo Junior vs FC Verona (Home) - Serie A 1984/85
Guerin Sportivo Rating: 7
Cut from 45 minutes.
He hit a post on a free kick and created other dangers for the Verona defence. He played an excellent match but it was an unlucky day for Torino and they came out of this very important challenge 2-1 down.

Guerin Sportivo Rating: 5.5 Cut from 88 minutes. He shows little, not the best of his days, but when he touches the ball he always creates some problems for the Roman defence, which is forced to systematically foul him. He provided the assist for the equalising goal.
Tassotti and Maldini vs FC Inter (Away) - Serie A 1987/88

Guerin Sportivo Ratings: Tassotti (6), Maldini (6). Cut from 36 minutes. In my opinion Tassotti plays a very good game, definitely not a 6.
Ruud Gullit vs FC Inter (Away) - Serie A 1987/88

Guerin Sportivo Rating: 6.5 Cut from 36 minutes. A difficult match for Gullit, who fought with his usual grit against the Inter defence.

Cut from 32 minutes. Guerin Sportivo Ratings: Baresi (7), Maldini (7). Fiorentina restarted well on the counter-attack, mainly thanks to Baggio's flashes, and the two defenders behaved well.

Guerin Sportivo Rating: 7 The Brazilian plays a great game, providing quantity and quality in midfield. He dictates the pace of the game, he is always uncovered and ready to be given the ball, solid when it comes to defending.

Guerin Sportivo Rating: 6,5 In my opinion not the best of days for the German Brehme, Fiorentina plays with great intensity, forcing him not to be able to advance as he usually does.

What was the result? It seems to be the away match (1st leg) than barca went on to win 5-0 in camp nou.
Yes, this is the first leg match, played in Germany and ended 0 - 0. I made a mistake in the description. Thanks for the tip.
@RVP9 Thank you for posting great comp.
Super Gullit 1989 !
Where do you get the matches of the series in such good quality?
Such a great game
more maradona
Idk why people say he invented the turn against Brazil in 74 when he literally done it in a European Cup final at 1:10 of this video
That wasn't against Brasil, it was against Sweden.
for you .... Who was more consistent and more complete between Michel Platini and Diego Maradona?? for me ... Michel Platini easily ..
It is difficult to choose. If you consider the overall career, maybe Diego I would put him above Michel. If we only consider the years in Serie A, I consider Michel the strongest player seen in Italy in the 80s
@@RVP9 For me, Diego had a lot of difficulty Of reproducing his best version... which was really at the 1986 World Cup Final phase . He was in great physical shape... form ...composure ...bravery... determination ...agility ...acceleration, Natural..LeaderShip ...Sprint Speed ..BodyBalance ... Endurance ...Stamina ... Fitness at that time extremely career-focused determined to win the 1986 World Cup. with Natural Fitness..and shape.. as M.Salah currently and M.Salah's entire career..Natural Fitness is insane.. World Cup 1986 is insane too .. Diego Armando Maradona in 1986 World Cup was a Total Footballer also .. with incredible .. Interceptions Duels Won Clearances Tackles Defensive Covers Defensive Blocks Headers Won attacking and Defending Positioning Time in Marking correctly .. for me... Maradona had a competition reminiscent of the 1986 World Cup. it was in the Coppa Italia 1986/87 several assists.. and several pre-assistances.. already in the Italian Championship.. in 1986/87 serie A Calcio His campaign was miserable...in this competition Carnevale..Giordano Bruno decided several matches. But in the Coppa Italia ..1986/87 .. was insane ..incredible ...extraordinary ..excellent performances .. reminds me on World Cup 1986 ... but Diego never reproduced again this form from 1986 World Cup maybe in Coppa Italia 1986/87 ..
@@seraqueeusourealmenteobode31By Diego's own admission, he stopped taking drugs and trained very hard before the World Cup. Some players said that Maradona had run more in one month in Mexico than he had ever done in Italy. So the one seen at the 1986 World Cup was definitely the best version of Diego, 100% focused on the goal.
@@RVP9 yes ... I saw Diego talking about that thing also ...in the TV documentary After Argentina lost to France;; in the friendly in 1986.. It seems that the penny has dropped in Maradona's head... He said I need to be very focused for this competition... there is the France by Michel Platini. and magical Brazil.. they can beat me easily on a bad day.. so I need to be focused to win this competition seriously otherwise ... It's over right now... by Diego Armando Maradona.. 1986 ..
One of the best Matches Of all time ...for sure What a Show that was by Ruud Gullit and was a superb performance Team also . on this match
One of the greatest fullbacks I've ever seen. What if he's won world cup?
I agree with you. Junior had uncommon technical qualities, few full-backs in history can boast similar skills. At Pescara at the end of his career, despite playing in the most difficult league in the world, he played an excellent season. I think that if he had won the World Cup he would be held in much higher esteem today, I think the same applies to Falcao and Zico, but the disastrous game against Italy in 1982 also weighs like a boulder.
i used to check the votes of the old serie A games on "La Stampa" online archive(because it's the only free archive among italian newspapers), and i remember Gramellini gave a 9 to Maradona for this game. Even with the penalty missed.
The Guerin Sportivo gives him 6.5, votes Baggio as man of the match giving him 8. The article, however, speaks of a Maradona fundamental in overturning the result.
Where would you rate Falcao between 1980-82? Some say he was one of the best in the world, others say may be a few steps below.
He was absolutely one of the best in the world, he made a difference like few others. He was also Brazil's best player at the World Cup and one of the best overall (some even consider him the best). In those years at Roma he did exceptional things.
Johann the Great...best player ever in the history of football....better than Pelè, Maradona, Messi and so on...only Zidane came close to him.
excelente, el mejor delantero de los ochenta!
Verona was such a strong team this season. Even Maradona couldn't do much against them.
It's true, Verona was so strong in that championship, difficult for anyone. Furthermore, despite winning the European Cup, it was not an easy year for Platini. Fatigue after the 1984 European Championship took its toll on her.
Gullit sempre Gullit !
Incredible Player at all .. Bow and Arrow at the same time Regista's Soul, Tre-Quartista's Soul and TopGoalScorer's Soul also at the same time Anticipating pretty well Agility Tackling pretty well Interceptions pretty well Wonderful Heading Accuracy % Genius Moments team Work Player Vision Long_Range- Balls .. Classic Technique Ambi-Dextrous Player For me Better complete than Maradona ... Platini was more consistent than Diego ....and Zinedine Zidane Platini like ..Alfredo Di Stefano and Johan Hendrix Cruyff
83/84 season, top notch Platini. Thank you for the comps
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I agree, Platini's 1983/84 season was a true masterpiece completed with the greatest European ever played by a single player.
Hi mate, can you tell me what's the best performance of Platini that I can find in your channel ?
It's a good question, perhaps my favorite is against Avellino even if he didn't score or assist. The most important belief against Roma 1982/83 (Away)
@RVP9 Thanks
@@RVP9 for me ... Michel Platini vs Atalanta ... 2 goals with Lob-Kicks ... Almost perfect that thing..
The best player EVER. Better than Messi, Maradonna, Pele and all the others. JC is the best player EVER!!!

Now that you saw so many many whole Matches by Ruud Gullit ... For you What's the best role ?? Gullit playing Right Full-Back Central Defender (Libero) Third Defender ( Libero ) Quarter-Back (Libero ) Right winger Playmaker Left winger Playmaker . Right Central MidFielder ( Mezzala someTimes there on this position ) Central Libero Second-Midfielder ( Segundo Volante ) DM Deep Lying Forward Second Striker Center-Forward Shadow-Striker Enganche Tre-Quartista False Nine Complete-Forward .. ????????? For me ,...I Prefer Right winger PLaymaker ... in the same Position of David Beckham ....at Manchester United Years ... Why ??? he could assist much more he has Great Vision Of passing Skills .. .... of Long Range Balls ... and Great Crossing ... with curly Balls .....mixing ..Powerful Crosses and with a surgical amazing accuracy. % like ... at Feyenoord in 1983/84 ..

Great video ❤
I think it's great idea to cover defending as a whole rather than spliting player by player. Which you're comp is good at. What matters in defence is not individual brilliancy but the ability to work as a team and cover up the cracks.
Yes, I realized that it is much nicer to see in a single video. As you said, what matters in defense is not individual brilliance but the ability to work as a team and cover gaps and it's the best to be able to see players of this caliber working so well together.
Underrated Arsenal man. Q. Why does the comp start with re-play? Just a small question.
It was my mistake that I didn't notice, it's the replay of Udinese's goal. However, yes, he was a truly impressive player and also in Italy (Juventus and Sampdoria in particular) he played at very high levels. Two years with him, the Bianconeri won two championships, there must be a reason. His not too rich palmares probably penalizes him a lot today.
It was a fairly boring match as i remember, beautified by brilliant goal. Matthaus personally picked tjis goal the best of his career.
Certainly not one of his best days but he scores a very heavy goal, perhaps also for this reason he considers it the best.
Careca may be Ballondor worthy this season. One of the most underrated strikers of all time.
Absolutely agree and I never understood why, perhaps because he played with Maradona, therefore a bit obscured. He was also the best player in the UEFA Cup won by Napoli. A lethal center forward with sublime technique, he doesn't have much to envy from Van Basten, his rival at the time.
I saw more with Maradona ❤

Paolo Maldini ;;; from 1987 to 1995... What a Player was TotalPlayer ;;; Honestly...Most People...Know The version as a defender.. But compared to Paolo Maldini...1987 to 1995 That he was a Total Footballer; in My vision.. He was 200x times better than the defender version. A mere supporting role for Kaká.; and already very very slower ..

Headers Won % How has too much importance on the professional Football ... ... .. I’m pretty sure heading is centered around the player’s ability to win headers. Finishing factors in the accuracy of ‘shooting’ the headers if that makes sense. So, if a player has good Jumping Reach or Powerful Headers or very very Height and is very very poor in Heading Accuracy % and Technique Level Of Headers , they’ll probably win headers often but will struggle to put it on goal. or Putting it Into the Net Almost Always ..for sure ... That’s my understanding of it. You always have to combine the physical force of Nature...
