I love this. He creates different atmospheres for the different sections, something which even the greatest pianists don’t do well enough, IMO. And this is an orchestra so it demands it. I also find that this Hess rendition is much more tasteful than the Horowitz, as much as we all adore Horowitz.

In my opinion - this Liszt S. 555 is superior to the later Horowitz reworking.

Too much "interpretation", It sounds like completely different piece UPD: Oh. It is a completely different piece. Is it Horowitz's rearrangement?

Não posso dizer que sei algo sobre música, principalmente sobre clássicos. Mas a maneira como ele toca rápido as partes mais "estranhas" da composição me fez sentir que ele queria passar muito rápido esse momento, creio que deveria ser o contrário, sentir as artes desconcertantes também pode ser bom. Mas eu gostei bastante da interpretação
