Ep 6: Framing | Building a Bass Boat in the Woods
Welcome back to another summer season where I will be putting in some finishing touches including the framing and the electronics. This build is coming to an end and it won't be long before this old aluminum v-haul is slaying giants as a completely re-built bass boat.

Jesus dude, were a dusk mask when you're sanding. I'm rebuilding a canoe and with all the sanding I'd be dead if I wasn't wearing a dusk mask. Breathing in all that metal dust and old paint is no bueno dude.
Agreed. Mistakes were made, been careful since. Wear a mask kids! Good luck with the canoe

Brother, complete the boat work quickly, can't wait to see the final look...!!! Love ya from Gujarat ( Bharat ) 🇮🇳🥰❤️
Appreciate that my man… final episode coming very soon
How much will you have into this boat? Makes me want to do this
I picked up the boat about 4 years ago for $1500. Put $4500 into the build with paint and parts. Another $500 for the trailer parts. All in, was about $6500 ($4685 USD). Mind you I got everything a few years ago before all the prices went insane. Will post a parts list in the next video
hey bud what part of Canada are you at?t
Muskoka, ON 😎👊
Awesome. Great videos. You've given me many ideas for my 14 foot boat restoration for sure.
Thank you! Good luck with the build

Can’t wait to see that beauty on the water. Looking great.
Sir how can i contact you?
THE 🐐 IS BACK BABYYYY!
WOWWW YOUR WAYYY PASSED SUDBARY I REALLY LIKE THAT AERIA OF ONTARIO
Wow! Best one yet
Amazing work man cant wait to see this thing in the water!
Damn homey what a thumbnail!!!!!!
Lookin sweet man.
From experience you would’ve been better off building some floors & laying carpet or lizard/gator skin on the deck and adding a flat casting platform in the bow with cubbies, a pedestal seat and strolling motor bracket That interior black paint is going to be extremely hot and burn the heck outta you. I’m not a fan of the sea nymphs, they’re way to narrow for my liking. The old Mirrocrafts had a much wider beam and better freeboard.
Appreciate the feedback brother! Still a work in progress though. Im building out the sub floors and casting decks as we speak. Got some nice light colored seadek also
AMAZING refurbish, love the green 🤙
Going to be hot on that little john boat.
People buy what they want and can afford. He has a bimmer and sti stfu with your rude comments. Not everyone wants to go into debt and make payments on a Fiberglas bass boat. Some of us own condos in big cities and have small parking spots to store our boats inside our garages
he referring to the covection heet thats gonna transfer due to the dark colors of the boat hes not dissing anyone 😂@@shane4525
Still need to add the sub floors and casting decks with a nice light colored seadek… and if that fails, i can always jump in the lake 😅
@@shane4525 pretty sure he was getting at exactly what I was gonna say. Black for the interior will be quite warm. You can put the assault keyboard away

Awesome man! Lotta fun but really time consuming. Almost done though so excited to drop it in the water and bag a monster
It looks great. Just got my 14ft with Honda outboard. Had to drive all the way to Sudbury from Montreal to get it from a Grampa. I dropped the engine off at marina for work 3 weeks ago hopefully I’ll hear from them soon. I’m starting to rebuild the rivets with 3m 5200 and rebuking new Alu rivets on the transom seam. That’s the only place the boat leaked. FFS 😅
Nice! Funny, i usually drive up to Quebec for the better deals. Good luck with the fix and happy fishing!
Full video on the main channel
Insane prep work on the trailer man, damn. One thing I've noticed with rivets is the arrow brand is terrible for breaking half way up. Like you I bought arrow thinking it was decent stuff. I bought some cheap rivets off amazon that work wayyy better. I even have an T50 arrow stapler that jams like crazy. Unreal job, amazing colours.
Man I went through 3 rivet guns trying to correct the issue… thought I was going crazy. Switched rivets and problem solved. Thanks for the compliment!
The 🐐 of RUclips returns!
You’re too kind my man. Thanks for the support!
Wow, great quality and great cinematography! You earned a subscriber. Need a video of you catching a lake monster in the new boat!
Thanks! Will do!
If you don't mind, how much did it cost you in paint to do your project and could you remind me how big your boat is? I have a 19 footer I want to do in flake the same color as my pickup truck, but I'm worried it is going to kill my budget.
If you know what your doing, 3-4 quarts of base and about 10-12 quarts of clear should do the trick. Add 1 more quart of each for the trailer. I went through a tremendous learning curve and used much more than that. If I was to redo it today, I could with the quantity listed above. The boat is 14 ft. I used Total Boat Aluminum paint and Diamond Clear coat. Both are very expensive here in Canada at over $100 / quart. I didn’t know how much I would need so kept buying quarts. Buying in bulk is definitely better. Hope this helps and good luck!
At least you're out there! 🎣
Beautiful!
I miss how easy aluminum boats are in comparison with fiberglass.
Wow looking good!
What is the speed limit 🚤
Was waiting for part 3 to drop!!! Keep up the nice work!! 🔥 🔥 🔥
Wow I’m about to start something similar . I think instead of spraying it myself I will take the 12 or 14ft hull whichever I buy used to the Armenian auto body shop and have them do it. I think if I set a budget they will be able to do it cheaper and better than I can for painting.
Keep em coming
New youtube video coming soon?
Coolest boat ever built😎
AWESOME PROJECT...can't wait to see the finished boat in the water!
Came across ya today, subbing for the boat build. Nothin beats sweat to give ya pride in a finished project. 👍👍
This is awesome. I just stumbled on this video. Immediately subscribed for the build. I have the exact same boat and have re done the whole thing from factory. It's gonna be nice to see your ideas and plans on the build.
This will fail a coast guard inspection.
great work bubs . im excited for you. im working on mine soon. i just got the trailer. next boat and motor ! :)
very good price. you sir are lucky !
I got a similar boat. It’s a 70’s Montgomery Wards Sea King 14, although I’m sure it was manufactured y sea nymph as the design is pretty much the same as yours. It’s been a solid boat, but leaks like crazy in many places. I used flex seal on the outside which worked for a day, but these aren’t made for rougher water.
Wow HIGHSTR33T!!! That boat is gonna be 🔥
Wow HIGHSTR33T!!!!! seeing you tackle that project makes me wanna pick up my power tools and build something! Can't wait to see this channel grow and you inspire others! Love you brother and soo proud of you
Nice work
Thanks dad!
I have that exact same boat, a 1992 SeaNymph 14R. Been in my family for well over 25yrs, my father passed it down to me and I still use it for bass fishing every weekend. It's never given me a single issue, these v-hulls are tough, easy to modify, and they handle great out on the water. Awesome find!
This guy is the mann!!
