AWESOME FINDS DAY AFTER YAKIMA RIVER FLOOD
Просмотров 5072 года назад
I had been waiting for a good flood to stir up the river gravel down at my favorite Yakima River spot. I made sure to get down there in a hurry once water levels dropped. I wasn’t 100% sure things would stir up enough to find some new goodies but I am now. It was a lot of fun hope you enjoy. #rockhounding #thefinders #agates #jasper #yakima #washington

CUTTING LOTS OF ROCKS FOR THE FIRST TIME! #rockhounding #thefinders #lapidary

This is a video taken over the course of a few weekends in which I cut many many rocks that have been in my collection and I've been dying to cut and see what's inside but I hadn't had a saw... until now. This is a Hi-Tech 10” inch slab saw. Most of the stones in this video are from places in Washington or Oregon. I cut rocks from the Yakima River, Red Top, Biggs OR, Lincoln City OR, Washougal ...
BOTRYOIDAL CHALCEDONY & AGATES UP IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH NATE
Просмотров 3,2 тыс.2 года назад
Nate told me about this location about a year ago and we finally made it out here. It’s a newish loggin road and we were able to find some stunning botryoidal chalcedony and numerous agate nodules and potential geodes. We are new at this but we did our best with what experience and knowledge we possess. What better way to learn than to go out and do it. It was so much fun! I hope you enjoy! #th...

SO MANY EXPOSED CHERT THUNDEREGGS AND MORE!
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.3 года назад
My buddy Hector told me about how Rimrock Lake is drained and very low right now. So I went to check out the spot with the thundereggs that I learned about through Jared from Currently Rockhounding. I’ll link his video at the end of this description. Rimrock is about an hour drive from my place so with the day off I headed up there. I found tons of thundereggs, complete and broken. I grabbed on...
I Found a Bunch of Opal
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.3 года назад
I went out to investigate some interesting stuff I found in a dry creek bed so I followed it up into the hills and found the source. It was thrilling to find all this beautiful opalized and agatized wood just sitting there on this hillside. Opalized wood is the stuff that has a natural glossy shine to it even when dry and the agatized wood does not have a natural gloss when dry. I found mostly ...

AGATE COVE IN LINCOLN CITY, OR
Просмотров 17 тыс.3 года назад
I went to the beach on vacation and one morning I got up and ran to the top of the beach in Lincoln City, Oregon north of Roads End. There’s awesome rocks to explore and observe sea creatures during low tide. I made it over to Agate Cove to find a few agates but the real fun was the adventure. It is a difficult walk over the rocks so please be safe if you choose to check it out. It’s not an eas...

QUICK ROCK HUNT ON THE YAKIMA RIVER #rockhounding #thefinders
Thank you for this video! Looks like an amazing place! I’m so excited to go camping around there soon
Wow 🤩 That looks like great fun. You guys got some awesome material. ❤⚒️⛏️🏔️
Passing up 20 million year old fossils for tan rocks that are worth 30 cents.
I always check the side channels
That kind of excursion is a lot more fun with 2 or 3 companions to urge each other along.
Thank you for sharing this! I spent 32yrs on the upper Wash River (Salmon and Dougan Falls area mostly) and miss it incredibly. As a kid hunting agates was the best rainy day adventure I could have. I still have a decent box full of beauties. lol Seeing this brought back special memories of the forests in the Great Northwet. I'm living in SW desert now. Finding this video was like getting an unexpected postcard from the past. TY
Congrats on your new saw. Thanks for sharing your rock cuts
😮 OMG 😮 HELLO, THOSE AGATES ARE AMYZING. MY name is Laura, I've lived in TACOMA Washington all my life. I've found a lot of amazing agates in my life, but you've had mine bet by far.😊have a beautiful day.
If anyone wants to go running around in Washougal...I wouldn't.. people aren't beyond making sure their land is not messed with!
Hey guys.. you're on private land. I know where you are.
Weyerhaeuser land?
I don't get it. This video should have lots more views! Thanks for posting.
Great finds, guys !!
Partly blue one is cool.
Chert ? Love greens and blues.
I loved this! Where are your finds from? That pet wood is stunning!!!
I’ll trade you Yakima made ward winning whiskey and a tour of my distillery for some pointers!
I’ll trade you a bottle of whiskey made at the Distillarium to show me an agate spot on the river canyon 😂 And I’d show you a few secret rockhound spots I found up there exploring myself. No good agates yet. But lots of pretty opal.
The agates are nice and large! I've found tiny mini pebbles. I would call the marks "pitting".
I wonder if you've ever found any blue agates?
Pretty area with all of the trees 🌳. Nice finds 👌.
Garden claw for Red Top
There's some good stuff up there! Love checking the roads up there ❤
Incredible find.
The "I wonder if theyre still together" comment got me! Haha. I always think the same thing!
I spent a whole summer on the Washougal River in 1982. Unfortunately that was a long time ago. Long before I even knew what an agate was. I did find some arrowheads though.
if it's wet, it's slippery.
I live here in the pnw and would love to learn where this is
Are Botryoidal chalcedonies precious? what is its price? Mine glows pink under uv light.
I would like to know also, great to know to use uv light
Was the hike to get to the agate area very long or hard?
Your jasper looks like rainbow jasper
awesome. is the one at 14 mins a crazy lace agate?
Beautiful sharing 👍
Do you know the address or where it is exactly?
do you realize how many "Indian Creeks" there are in America? I know of at least 4 in California alone.
Nice vid. Do you polish any of the material you collect? If you do, it would be cool to see some before and after shots.
Agate hunting here in Texas has pretty well spoiled me.
You find rocks in Central Washington that I have never seen. Your Mountain Climbing Skills paid off. Good job.
Thanks J. Eric!
What mountain are you at in this video? Desperate to find geoids!!!
New to the rockhounding game, these finds are awesome! I live in sw Washington can you give me any pointers on where to go and look for them?
OMG the rocks and agates out there are amazing looking ! I would have a hard time leaving that River. Thanks for sharing 😊
There were some pretty nice pieces along the Yakima on this hunt.
Some really nice pieces found there. Probably best to leave once you came across the bear poo, or whatever it was. It looked too big to be squirrel poo.
Wow looked like so much fun!
Nice finds! Always enjoy watching your rock adventures.
Aw thanks Dylan, I appreciate you!
Some of that looks like banded chert, or flint. I am from Washington, but not familiar with red top, buried in like that it is very hard to tell, but looks sedimentary not igneous, that would determine whether agate or chert
Oh really? Hmm interesting. Thank you!
U did a great job with this video. Glad u showed way more than agates. Makes a very good watch
Very nice specimens. We both spent some time up in that neck of the woods. Rock on.
Very cool. I can dig it.
COOL.How does botryoidal texture form?
Good question. I think I read that small needle like crystals form very tightly together and fuse together to make the bubble shapes but I’m not super sure that I’m correct haha that’s my current understanding 😄
So I didn't get to go until last week. I checked those Tree wells that blew down on the way down saw nothing. Did find a little creek with material. I have another location not too far from here if you wanna check it out. Do you know anything about the channels that run through it the bottom? Or the Shaft looking pit filled with water?!?! Gunnar?
I don’t know much about that area but I’d love to go back and do more exploring. I hope you find some good stuff Thomas!
