I have a 582 i can not seem to get the mower deck back on. I replaced the blade drive belt. (I didnt remove it) for the life of me idk what to do. Cant get the pins to get back into place or even the cotter to get back into place. If you can HELP!!!!!!

What size belt are you using for the tiller model #2 on the cub 125?

Sad part of these decks are is that people don't clean them out appropriately with all the grass stuck underneath them, and the grass acid begins to eat away the mower deck. When it's time to clean your mower deck, clean it thoughly, and paint black paint on it to help preserve the mower deck. These decks are of beautiful design with only two blades to cut the grass, and when you have the deck off of the tractor, never hurts to get those blades on a grinder and sharpen them razor sharp so that you CUT your grass, as dull blades will only pull your grass out by the roots and invite weed growth. Love those older square mower decks on these tractors.

That's A nice tractor. I have A red cub 782d that I love. I wish it was in the condition of yours. Mine is not bad but needs some tlc. The diesel cub is my favorite along with my 982

Yours sounds like rocks in a coffee can. I didn't have any that sounded like that and I hope the Pontiac 455 I am building right now doesn't sound like that either.

yeah im fiamiliar with that site, I was tryin to figure out something like that for mine, to avoid running a super long belt all the way to the rear, i can get belts cheap, its just i dont know the size , i seen yours and thought you had to know, seeing yours with the tiller on the back, alright, well thanks for the info !

check out onlycubcadets . com all the info is there. I built a jack shaft to make it work. 2 belts to run the tiller. one from the clutch to the jack shaft and from the JS to the tiller gear box

You dont know off the top of your head what belt you used with yoru 582 for the tiller do you? I have a model 1 tiller, and a 582, but i could never figure out what length belt run back to the gearbox, great lookin group of tractors, specially the diesel,

do I? No! its just right the way it is. I have a OEM stock Kohler muffler to put back on it once I restore it.

also if you know anything about a Pontiac you'd know they all have a certain degree of ticking.

no ticking on this 5k 400 build. all good parts and built by a race engine builder. dyno brake in and dynoed at almost 400hp. not to bad with a stock looking engine. with a ton of mill work. 1968 N iron crank .010/.010 mid range cam. custom timing chain made. .030 over pistons, 0 decked block. .030 off the 6x4 heads & ported, bbc rocker studs w/roller tip rockers. 9.5 to 1 comp. I'll be at the TA Nationals in Aug. in the winner circle. 1st last year in my class. come check it out.
