How exactly do they attach? Are the plastic push pins just snapped through the foam and into the BPD guard grooves or are there specific mounting points?

My one bolt fell out and another bolt broke during install /: i had to buy a new bolt and luckily I had an extra short one from the box but still bummed. I think I just messed up the install and I’m mad at myself

can they retrofit the original guards?

From a safety perspective, I would suggest some Loctite the carrier bolt (at 1:51). Don't want that backing out (I made the same comment on the front disk guard video). Love the BPD stuff. Top quality.

Install question. I noticed in another video done by Jay over at dirt bike tv, that he drilled and tapped a hole in the swingarm. I see that there are a couple holes in my guard that would allow one to do just that. Is that something you recommend doing?

Well if you gona bulletproof your bike then you misses the most important part , clutch slave protection. With a chain jacked in between the sprocket and the clutch slave cylinder your not only having a DNF you Also need to swing by the bank before the dealer for new crankcases.
