Being Autistic and Pregnant
Просмотров 482 года назад
Key takeaway: it's ok to hate being pregnant. I apologise this video is so long and that I had so much trouble staying on track - I'm really tired. But it's one I've wanted to make since I started the channel, because I have a feeling a lot of why I found pregnancy hard is tied in to being autistic.

A bit of background on where I am in seeking diagnosis. I appreciate this is a personal journey and different for everyone, but getting an official diagnosis feels important to me. #autism #adultautism #adultdiagnosedautism

Fibromyalgia overlap: is this pain actually autism?
The irony here is that I have fibromyalgia, autism and I'm also wearing a Thundercats shirt. What are the odds of that?
Yeah special interest have you got chronic symptoms😊
@@Truerealism747 Yeah, chronic pain, faitigue (the worst one of them), heat intolerance, food reactiveness, ringing ears, tendency to see between the lines of the lines I'm looking between. Loneliness and people avoidance at the same time. The list goes on
@@DustinReado you mean by tendency to see between the lines as wwht others don't see
@@DustinRearinging in ears heat intolerance shorts in winter since all my life and yeah sure like being alone way of coping fur us
@@DustinReato send in 3 mails won't upload CFS 27 years fybromyalgia 7 like this lady sure all caused by Autism or autism burnout low serotonin any OCD? Son's now started 13 autism ADHD fybromyalgia symptoms.hope doesn't get like.me
Feal hunger correctly but not thirst or maybe they get mixed up
Think the connection is spd with the heds
Does your pain in muscles feel like migraine pain in a different place
I feel like having both conditions would make fibromyalgia symptoms worse and sensory overload happen more often. I remember having an increasing struggle with both my autism and adhd symptoms over the last couple years. I was recently diagnosed with Fibro and have been struggling with having pain even with proper medication. I wonder if the pain that doesnt go away with the medication is actually from sensory overload. I bet that the similarities between fibro sensory issues and autisms sensory overload are both the culprit for the intensity of my symptoms. The Fibro fog and lack of social skills make it hard for me to keep up and comprehend conversations as well. I feel like I am now higher on the spectrum because of how much more sensitive ive become and how difficult it is to function on my own now and manage my disorders.
I now no I had SPD growing up so yes CFS fybromyalgia decades some symptoms changed fybromyalgia worst have you got heds causation it's the autism we have totally different nervous systems
Serotonin effects especially in autism
How much of fybromyalgia is autistic burnout
You’ve given me a lot to think about with this video - thank you 🙏🏻
Dr schubiner says we can calm our subconscious mind down for which I hope
Me to I've had CFS pots now fybromyalgia now found out got Asperger's add hypomobility at 43 since sins diagnosed my mum has severe ms and ime sure this is why.takes so long to work it out as a child I had pain ful hair to have it cut which I now no is spd
Got diagnosed with fibro and EDS too, but idk I feel like I may be autistic, but I've been to so many doctors over the years I figured if I was I would've been diagnosed at this point. But I do get that sensory overload and I feel like it definitely contributes to my symptoms when it happens
I went to my doctor and outright asked if I might be autistic in the end. He asked a few questions, looked at my medical history and agreed it was worth exploring. I then had to do a few questionnaires and had an interview with a specialist, which has got me on the waiting list for formal diagnosis (the specialist has given me an informal diagnosis - she said I wouldn't have been given the appoitnment with her if I wasn't, which was a huge relief that felt like a release). Basically, I don't think it's something that a GP will suggest if you're masking well
@@rawtism8384I second that I had to go private for autism nwhich I have and heds which I have causing the fybromyalgia cfs
Took me till 43 be diagnosed heds autism ADHD SPD turns into it sins now diagnosed
YES! All the time into Autumn.
This was so relatable and so helpful - thank you. And I'm so sorry to hear that you're also struggling with firbo and brain fog. It's a battle. <3
I'm so glad it was helpful to you! And same to you - it's so hard and so underestimated.
Love the thoughts over eye contact.
Eye contact is so weird
Your hair is brown
It is! It feels really weird to realise that 😆
I think they are connected
Have you found anything to help yes for sure with hypomobility
I think you need to change jobs.
asap, before you get burned out or an accident.
Thanks, I think you're right and I have
Bugger! I hope that when we met I didn't make you feel that you had to 'Do Small Talk' and stole all your spoons.
Do you know, it's really funny but I don't get that feeling as badly in Blood Bowl crowds 😆 I think people in that environment are often not understanding of my need to infodump and the "small talk" is stuff I'm interested in and that's relevant to the environment, like how games are going and why flings are the best and why you shouldn't take rerolls 🤣
@@rawtism8384do you have hypomobility with your autism seams to cause the fybromyalgia with adhd
I definitely collect/pick up nice looking shells, and so does my daughter. The stones tend to be restricted to nice flat ones to skim. Sea Glass is another one to collect. I've never been diagnosed as being on the spectrum though
Oh sea glass is the best!
Mushrooms suuuuuuuuuuuck! So interesting how food, like music, is more than sensory and that we associate foods we hate/love with our past
Really hope that this is helping, and that you have enough spoons to continue.
thanks. I am finding this helpful!
A dress with pockets? That's not a dress, that's just an unbifurcated pair of trousers. Everyone knows that Women's clothing isn't allowed pockets!
I think that this is a really brave thing to do and hopefully it helps you to process things.
Thanks
Well done Fern for starting this! I'm ready to listen :)
Thanks!
