I had the 3x 42" snow blower for my Cub Cadet Lawn Tractor, what I did for my snow blower to keep it from picking up the rocks in my gravel driveway was I got a piece of chainlink fence line post, cut it to length, and then cut a slot in it to fit over the cutting edge of the snow blower. That allowed the blower to slide over all the gravel without the cutting edge being able to dig in and pickup the rocks.
Thank you for the info....
Have a xt2 cub 26hp lawn tractor with 3 stage blower nice machinery
They seem to work very well.
looks good enough for me
Up here in Hoyt KS wee got an 1" last weekend we had approx 14"
We need the moisture here. You guys?
@@dirtpoorfarms...7034 We're setting decent for moisture right now.
we got 3"
We made up for the last moisture you got. 😁
@@dirtpoorfarms...7034 your right
4 degrees... I guess you maybe can Bitch about 100 degrees.. lol
I would use used oil on the planks for a waterproofing
That's the plan.. thank you.
you got off easy, I got around 8-9 inches plus 1/4 of ice first
Dang!
that is interesting on what you tube pays that is good info we are not monetized the reason we started the channel was if we ever want to go back and see how something was put together or dates of seeding or harvesting
I started mine so my great grandkids could see how their ancestors lived.
You keep it real enjoy watching
Thank you sir.
I've been putting off redoing the floors on 2 of our stock trailers probably need to get started on them one of these days.
We put it off, and then it's not that terribly high to replace it. In your stock trailer, you'll probably use rough cut oak?
@@dirtpoorfarms...7034 Yeah need to get the sawmill set up and get some cut, got a couple logs I cut down last fall, maybe I'll do a video on running the sawmill.
There are some channels I won’t watch!! Yours is one I will!! No BS And honest!! I put linseed oil on my trailers that have wood, stay warm!! Enjoy your channel…..
Thank you Karl! I'll definitively get the wood treated. It's terrible here today and trying to just keep warm.
@ ya i hear that!!! take care…..
thanks for the honesty
Without you guys it's nothing.... so why not let the team know what the channel makes.
I hate winter! If I didn’t have cattle, wouldn’t give a shit! Already icy up here, 🙁
Livestock make it miserable. Bob has worked all day to get them prepared the best he can. Stay safe!
@ ya keeps it interesting!! we’re in a blizzard warning now.. lovely!!!!! i’m in republic co. a county south of neb. border!! hope you don’t that down there……
We are under a blizzard warning until Sunday evening as well.
Speaking from central Wisconsin... your not allowed to Bitch about 100+ degrees days from now on
😅 You guys are use to the crap. 😆
that would come in handy when/or if you lose power
We are going to hope we don't, but it's not looking good.
@@dirtpoorfarms...7034 me neither we are suppose to get a inch of ice and 6-10 inches of snow. Good luck
With 50 mph winds. Stay safe.
I guess when you get your check, you don’t cash it if you don’t want dude
You know I never thought of that. I'm pretty sure it's direct deposit.
@ or I guess if that’s an issue don’t register your crops through the F.S.A if you don’t want any government money
I did that for years and couldn't compete with others because of insurance. I love your ideas but I'm not sure they are first hand.
@@Justin-e2hIf you farm, I'm guessing you're in trouble?
@@dirtpoorfarms...7034 compete with others🙄a farmer is his own demise. Yes I call my self a first generation farmer I had no help and because of that it is very hard to make it work. The drought and low prices and insurance premiums are hurting us Northwest Kansas.
I’m calling him out. He’s a spoiled brat farmer that had everything handed to him. He’s never had a land loan. He’s never had an equipment loan. He’s never had to pay rent.
Farmers are like greedy politicians, they are getting filthy rich, some farmer's were laughing when the rinos to Put pre..Trump in jail.
S.Kansas !! Should be cattle anyways Drought image that in S.Kansas . Where has all the cattle gone ?? I'm in N W. Mo. And we have lots of cattle . Crop. Ins. Is why the Country has no cows . No .More bail outs.
Largest wheat producing county in the nation for many years.
On those air compressor cooling fill line I have peeled some of the fins off and swaged one end and silver brazed together lasted quit a while.
Thanks for the input. I have a new one coming. Found it for $325. 🙄
Government only want farmers to have enough to justify planting the next crop and maybe get us excited to throw some fertilizer at it. They want us to always be reliant on their hand. If we were allowed to break out of their hold then we could start to have an opinion that mattered.
You.....IMO are 100% correct!
How do you figure cash flow? On your farm & home plan, find (Total Debt Service) and subtract from (Balance Available).
I'd sure would have liked some aid. I lost every ash tree on my land because of no fault on my part.
That's terrible.
Cattle guys never get nothing
2 years ago we got a decent check on acres of pasture but not so much this year.
What kind of rent do you guys pay?
I believe that is the main problem. We can make money at todays crop prices but land costs/rent or mortgage payments are too high. I've a neighbor who has a floor heat, air conditioned shop that cost $325,000. He told me last week that he wishes he could return it to the builder. Nice meeting place for party's and watching football games.
Most of ours is on shares.
@@dirtpoorfarms...7034 Even if it is shares, sometimes the share is too favorable for the landowner. The farmer must consider if he has enough crop revenue to cover his costs. I have farmed shares. The landowners always had a winning year even with low prices and low yeilds.
What is the break down, with farming being so geared towards industrial use versus sustenance? Also the amount going towards food stamps, nothing is about what they say it is.
We will probably never know.
Wait for trump to put tariffs on imports and he will give you another 28 billion bail out
We are used as pawns.
You know i once had a job in liked but i wasnt making enough money, so I couldnt go to the government and ask them to subsidies my budget so I left that job for a better paying job.enough with the subsidies for farmers and boeing
If the grain prices weren't manipulated, I would agree.
@@dirtpoorfarms...7034 if if if
Please just find us markets, no more broken grain contracts
We farm northern Kentucky southeastern Indiana. 1100 acres, our farm sounds like yours. Old well maintained equipment. Tough times create tough people. I agree Brian’s farm videos a little different than my farm. We do our own repairs. Don’t have to get it but it will help.
Yep... nuts on. Stay safe!
So stumbling over neighbors to rent more land to grow crops that won't pay the bills?
It's tough for sure.
It is hard to get a farm operation loan through farm credit , they changed hands and are moving more twords real estate loans - home loans.
I have not dealt with them in 20 years.
Farm subsidies are capitalized into the value of farmland. Subsidies are not necessarily designed to help farmers. Subsidies are so that farmers will continue to produce. Much of the farm subsidies goes back to the federal government by paying off farm operating loans which the government lends to farmers through the farm credit system. A farmer is trapped in a pyramid con game.
Hard to argue with you.
We are the only country that pays farmers to grow the crops and pay people to buy the crops what's wrong with this picture
We definitely need serious change.
Bailout for Millionaire's. Poor marketing is the farmers fault. Let's end Foodstamps instead.
Marketing isn't as easy as you think it is. Here in Michigan whatever you contract you gotta provide a crop or cash to cover it. Hard to contact too much when you don't know what the crop is gonna yield.
@brandonwagner7301 buy Put options. Life saver 4 me this year.
The payment limits USDA has are a joke. Loopholes so big you can run a new combine threw them. Are they now to big to fail? What if these prices are the new norm? IDK
Good question. These prices won't sustain the middle sized farmers. Big will make it and hobby.
The big guys will get enough payment to pay for the kids to college pay for their health insurance for the year pay for the cost of living for the year buy a couple of vehicles secure more land A small farmers going to get a payment that might help pay for some of their health insurance or a small part of their cost of living. The small farmer is going to appreciate this help but it's not going to move him forward The banks, the co-ops the Denali dealership, John Deere are going to love this bailout money cuz it's all going to go to them There are a lot of small guys that might have trouble getting financing. It's not because they're buying fancy equipment or living high on the hog. One or two bad crop ears your job off the farm can't cover the losses of the farm The whole system is broke
I susah I could argue with you... these are the point of views I was looking for.
@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 by the way I watch your channel and your channel helped me with a 2030 hydraulic issue one time. Thank you.
@dirtpoorfarms...7034 Glad I could help We do cash flows through the farm business management program. So they've got your cost of living and repairs taxes interest every little expense I don't think about. Based on the information we have today and the price is the banks will allow us to use it doesn't make sense to rent ground to put in a crop for 2025 around here. I'm probably going to give up a lot of rental ground and just focus on the home place and working in the shop. My long-term goal is to buy the farm to the south of us and to the west of us and that will never happen if I'm breaking even or losing money on rented ground 10 Mi away Life is too short.
I definitely agree about the farm aid. Do away with it all. It only helps inflate rent and land prices. I started in 83 so I know all about hard times.
I was young in the 80s but was very well aware of what my granddad was going through.
I was young in the 80s but watched what my granddad went through.
I'm in west central kansas and the poor crops started in 21. 22 and most of 23 crop was a disaster. Just a ho hum crop this year. Yes, in hindsight I would have made some different decisions regarding machinery and crop rotations, but that's water under the bridge. Crop insurance covered input costs but not machinery, rent, land payments during those years. Was pretty easy to get in a hole, and then interest rates jumped and compounded the issue. I'm not proud of it but ill take whatever help I can. My payment(s) will go to service debt.
I will take it as well. I know we were put in a bad situation and mostly due to things we couldn't control. Our crop insurance continues up while our yield guarantee are coming down... that could be a huge disaster.
We can only survive by using old equipment. The big boys have bid up land rental so high it doesn't cash flow normally. I don't know if this is a good idea or not. In order for markets to work properly, some operators must fail. IMHO there is so much debt nobody can be allowed to go under. That would just leave even bigger operators.
I think this is pretty much where I stand.
Like you say there’s not enough money there to matter much. This just helps keep the ball rolling. Helps keep the banks happy the dealers happy and the landowners happy. Keeps it all going. If we had no direct payments it should start to weed out the irresponsible producers which is probably what needs to happen. Then maybe cash rents start going down.
I definitely see this side of it
Gov't controls commodity prices by using them as political bargaining chips. Input costs are ridiculous because of Gov't policy. And uninformed assholes want to criticize farmers and ranchers for getting farm aide 😮
This...
Will not help me and I can not even trust my FSA officer, too little to help and not an enbred local
That's scary..
GM never learned anything from the bailout except how to keep their hand out. Ford is losing $40,000 on every lightning, and stelantist is not doing well. You are spot on.
Banks didn't either.
@@dirtpoorfarms...7034right. Car companies, which actually have a lot to offer our economy paid their loans back. The banks did not and no one seems to care.
Its not coming, the bill was scrapped. The outgoing administration isnt controlling the Farmers anymore.
I'm not seeing it was scrapped. In fact seeing payments in March?
John Deere lobbyists push this thru to help their dealers that have 20 million of new iron sitting on the lot
That and the holders of loans.
Payment is needed, and if corn/soy prices don't improve,, more will be needed next year... Simple as that, unless inflation gets ahold of corn and soy prices and they take off. But the experts say not going to happen this year.
I appreciate your point of view.
quit growing such big crops, prices will improve on their own. 1 yeat of low inputs would pay for 2-3 years
I farm in south ga and grow cotton and corn most is irrigated and have made good crops last two years haven’t bought anything new and can’t make ends meet at these prices so will take any help would rather see the prices go back to where they need to be hope everything works out
I think most all of us don't ask for much, but let us make a living and quit manipulating the grain prices. Good luck abs stay safe.... looks like we are fixing to get very cold around the 7th.
Do away with crop insurance . People that lived through the 80s had 18 percent Interest or more and no crop insurance. Had 4 year's of drought 2 wet year's it wasn't about expanding it was about surviving. A farmer that's 50 or younger hasn't had anything but low interest on bank loans now interest is 8.5 % they think that's high interest. That was normal interest up to 10%. We need to get the investors out of owning farmland. The real-estate people are like vulchers wanting to sell your land like they did in the late 70s early 80s. Then things went to heck and they all about went out of business through the 80s. I am afraid that things have gone to crazy Everyone hang in there.
I kind of think the same as you are, we have J6 farms up here that go in and pay twice the rent price as what most others would knowing knowing that they will get a fat check from FSA if they don't make it.
I don't have the answers, but I wish I did. We will go with whatever comes, I guess.
@@dirtpoorfarms...7034at least the government seam to support you to an extent the Uk bunch seems to want to sit down the Rural economy.
I think this administration will support the farmers. We sure do Ukrainian farms.
Here in the southern Texas panhandle we farm cotton. Usually we can survive on a poor crop! But take 2 years of just crop insurance and the third year of high input cost to make a poor crop, than sale that poor crop for half price!!! I’m not a taker, but if I don’t take this I’ll be in trouble.
Insurance is not livable and we have collected 3 years in a row on our beans. Hope the best for you!!
