I am a Visual Artist and I will be sharing with you my creative process about my work.

ALEBRIJES MADE IN CANADA
Emotionart has been running alebrijes workshops for all ages in Toronto, EAst York and Guelph.
Here is a gallery and process of some of them. Some of them have been made by children as young as 10 years old and adults as old as seniors.
These Alebrijes workshops have been possible thanks to the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this experience of sharing and expanding the knowledge of making this fantastic creatures originated in Mexico City back in 1939 by Pedro Linares. Lets extend his legacy, and keep exploring our imagination!

This is a video from our opening night at the Papermill Gallery at Todmorden Mills that was held on December 19, 2023. “Unfolding 9x9, Art & Design, youth art program” Art exhibit , where nine aspiring artist were learning and creating artworks during nine months. We finished the first round of the Alebrijes in TCH. We covered 4 different locations in Toronto and had participants of all ages. In two buildings, we have intergenerational groups. In another one, there were only adults and seniors. This project has been supported by Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts.

what type of paint do you use?
acrylic paint
Im a self taught artist of 50 years, haven't touched a paintbrush in 12 years but was blown away by this style of art in Taos, New Mexico. It made me proud of my Mexican/SPANIARD lineage. I'm going to master this art form and design my own alebrijes...😮
